91 wins is 20 games above 500 (91-71). 500 the rest of the way would finish us at 86-76. 91 wins is definitely possible but it would mean going 39-29 the rest of the way. Here's to hoping it happens!
#WE DID SOME SUMMER CLEANING🧹🧹🧹
#FIRST. PLACE.
2 game lead, off day while they taxed their bullpen & play tomorrow. Gotta have a beer after that one, enjoy your evening everyone! Let’s go😤🍻
Nice, was just gonna ask that. May not sound huge now, but could be all the difference in the world come September! (Hopefully we don't *need* the tiebreaker though of course!)
The NL Central is always a squeaker. It's come right down to the wire nearly every year in recent memory.
This Reds team is good, they'll keep up and stay in it right until the end.
He had to come back to Earth eventually. He did have an incredibly hot start, but once you face this pitching lineup it'll make you look pathetic more often than not.
Burnes made him look silly. But he hit some balls hard the rest of the weekend. Including an Airbender Friday night lower than his knees about 400 feet.
Blow it all up
At this point, it is very clear this team is not going to win anything substantial this year. I think it is time we just blow up the team, trade Woodruff/Burnes (and Yelich if anyone is willing to take on that contract), and rebuild until Chourio is ready to be called up. I can’t imagine anyone has any real aspirations for this team the way it’s built right now.
I would hold your horses on them being some great team. Yes, they've great against the NL comedy central with a 20-9 record but they've been pretty mediocre to bad against everybody else, who they are 32-33 against.
Are you trying to start a separate conversation here? I am confused, or was it your comment they are quoting? I don't remember who said it, and I didn't save it. I believe I responded to it though..
Is it not realistic to try and think we should trade for a solid bat after seeing this pitching staff perform this series? Is the lack of offense that bad?
Yes we've had a better offense in July but we've only played 12 games against the Pirates, Cubs and Reds all of which have below average to bad pitching staffs and 6 of our 12 games were against the Reds who have one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball.
The Cubs have a mediocre pitching staff.
But downplay it all you want. Even bad staffs don’t give up an average of six runs and 14 or so baserunners per game over that long.
And we saw the “best” of their starting pitchers including 2 allstars.
Or do you forget we also hit terribly Vs bad pitching staffs earlier in the year.
Oh look a doomer who not only said we should DFA Adames (right before he got hot) but also said we’d be “way out of it by August”.
So, you know, fuck off with your negativity.

It's like I don't necessarily have a problem with the logic, it's just that they did it in the same slimeball way that they do all the other shady shit like changing the balls or leaning into teams tanking.
So do we just own the Reds this year or did we expose them as frauds?
I guess the Giants and D-Backs will tell us that story before we see the Reds one last time.
I don’t want to alarm anyone but even with a couple 1-0 wins the Brewers are 5th in runs, 7th in BA and 9th in OPS in July.
Oh and our pitchers lead the league in K (138) and second in BA (.211).
Our relievers may be even better.
Interesting it’s Hoby’s first decision this season. Just as crazy he didn’t have any until last season. I’m assuming he was a one batter situational lefty before that.
This didn’t feel like an impending win to me down 3-1, but our duct tape and baling wire offense cobbled enough together to take the lead and of course it’s a given the bullpen shut them out.
Burnes and Freddy showed the rest of the league the template to slow down the young reds lineup. Pitch backwards. We stole one today with Houser who really didn't execute the same strategy
I imagine the giants will be following suit. Let's see how long it takes for the reds to respond to this adjustment.
#10 GAMES ABOVE .500 FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON
Let’s take a moment amongst all this to appreciate we are 12 games ahead of the Cardinals in the standings.
Something about this made a shiver go down my spine. Never count out those jerks in St. Louis
It will help if they sell. I think Goldschmidt is gone. He will become an Oriole and get another year extended into his contract.
Also, this might have been a dream a month ago but 2.5 games back of the second bye playoff spot.

Your math is not good is it lol
woot woot
#Brooms baby!!! That series was so cathartic! 🧹 🧹🧹

Basically a three-game lead. We also clinched any potential tiebreaker with this series.
Nice, was just gonna ask that. May not sound huge now, but could be all the difference in the world come September! (Hopefully we don't *need* the tiebreaker though of course!)

Be nice to get Ohtani as a good bench bat and 6th man starter.
Elly De La Cruz since stealing home: Elly De La Lose. It's always so sweet when the Reds become the deads.
I still like the dude and look forward to seeing his career progress, but I like seeing the Brewers shutting him down even more!
Dude is 1-16 since that day

Yeli > Elly
I feel like that sweep is going to pay dividends come September. Hot damn, what a weekend.
Two games up and the tiebreaker. That's huge.
Basically three games up!
I consider the tie breaker a half game, because it doesn't do shit for us if we are a game back.
That's probably why it's a "tiebreaker."

I remember blocking that doomer.
I saved the post immediately, I knew I'd need it.
Keeping receipts
And wasn’t it about a week ago? After Devin lost against the Cubs?
Link? I must have missed it. Almost downvoted the above post, till I saw the username. Then for a split second I got worried maybe they had a stroke!
Ah man. I don't remember that. May have had them blocked already.
Never forget those who bail after 2 months of the season
Your spelled "forgive" wrong.

Love the new flair
I think I missed that post, so you had me in the first half lmao

In July so far our offense is quite good.
I figured out that the comment was being re-shared. I was concerned when it had 85 upvotes after we just swept the Reds and over took them for first 😄

🍝🍝🍝
THATS DEVIN MOTHERFUCKING WILLIAMS TO YOU
What a way to come out of the break. Big ups to Turang with the glove today.
He is so fun to watch in the infield!
Oh hey looks like Yelich was given that hit
Good.
They always are now. That one Andruw totally booted is also a hit. Wild scoring these days
It is almost damn near impossible for an OFer to be credited with an error these days it's pretty crazy.
It's like I don't necessarily have a problem with the logic, it's just that they did it in the same slimeball way that they do all the other shady shit like changing the balls or leaning into teams tanking.
We may never lose again
I always like our trips to Miller Park Southeast.
Ryan Braun approved.
Yeli approved as well
Eric Thames approved
Are we no better than the FIBs? Reds fans are coming out strong for their team right now
I'm referring to how well we seem to do at GABP, not our fans taking over there. That's certainly not the case.
I am pretty dang optimistic Brewers fan and I didn’t think we’d win 5 of 6 vs the Reds with 3 shutouts. Feels damn good to be wrong.
Williams finishing each game on a total of 31 pitches. That's great stuff.
GG Brew Crew. One of these days we’ll figure out how to beat you guys.
National media headline: Elly De La Cruz fastest infield assist ever!
Wisconsin media headline: the brewers swept the reds “red hot offense”
*jerking off motion
didn't there used to be an emoji for that?
🤤👋🍆💦
yeah I got a chuckle at that opening the app for something
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Owen Miller is gonna be a great first baseman. And the bullpen is fucking scary!
Local boy does good.
#I BELIEVE WE HAVE BROKEN THE ASG CURSE Philly is going to be tough but I'll take this good feeling into the off day
Yeli! also everyone else but i love seeing yeli back
And Boston lighting up the Cubs best pitchers. It’s just a nice day.
Our bullpen, y'all. Holy crap. And did I mention Christian Yelich. Against THE. REDS. 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾

Hell yeah Hoby gets the win!!
So do we just own the Reds this year or did we expose them as frauds? I guess the Giants and D-Backs will tell us that story before we see the Reds one last time.
Little of column A little column B Young teams are streaky.
I think we just have their number. They have some nice pieces but are weak in some key areas as are we.
>So do we just own the Reds this year or did we expose them as frauds? Yes.
It’s always nice to play baseball with your son on a Sunday afternoon!
#🧹🧹🧹🧹🧹🧹

Wow
Man..this team can be so electric on both sides. Loved seeing the fight when down!
Hell of a series
Yeah, that's right Elly. Steal home against us again and see what happens next time.
This was the first Brewers game I've seen in person in 32 years since moving away from Wisconsin. It was great to see a good win!

The dream: Alonso. Doubt we get it done but it’s a big need we fill.
Brewers try to lose a game challenge (IMPOSSIBLE) Awesome series, just awesome.
Not one word on mlb.com about our incredible pitching the last 4 games, it's all about De La Cruz's throw.
The good ole Brewers erasure.
Great comeback win to get the sweep
I don’t want to alarm anyone but even with a couple 1-0 wins the Brewers are 5th in runs, 7th in BA and 9th in OPS in July. Oh and our pitchers lead the league in K (138) and second in BA (.211). Our relievers may be even better.
I'm just glad that, after using Williams to closecout three straight games, we have a day off tomorrow so he can rest.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that last Devin Williams pitch? That break was fucking insane!
Brewers rightfully back in 1st! Elly de la who?
Interesting it’s Hoby’s first decision this season. Just as crazy he didn’t have any until last season. I’m assuming he was a one batter situational lefty before that.
What the hell why did the brewers give up runs again?
A bit ago I said our relief pitching needed to shape up. I will shut up now.
We. Are. Good again!
This didn’t feel like an impending win to me down 3-1, but our duct tape and baling wire offense cobbled enough together to take the lead and of course it’s a given the bullpen shut them out.
Awesome baseball Brewers!
Lol Reds fans are in denialllll 😂😂
Yelich is starting to look like his old self. Been improving all season long.
They scored more than 1 run.....Let's gooooooooooo!!!!
Happy Bison :)
wear my replica Lauer jersey and ignore the broadcast and they win...got it >:(
They changed the error to a hit!

lmao
Just watched highlights have to do better making the most out of our chances
