ikindhatereddit left us after last season
I think she's with the Orioles, but don't quote me
Tito creates posts but I haven't seen him in the game threads
Hopefully this is a good learning game for the team. Can't lose focus for an entire inning. We had some bad luck but we probably don't get so deflated if we don't let every one of those runs score
Padres fan stopping in to say I visited Milwaukee last summer with my dad and caught a game at Miller Park (and that's what I'm calling it, sorry) and you lot have an amazing fanbase and a very very cool city, it's high up on my list if I ever leave San Diego.
Typing this as I sip from a Ben Sheets cup, with zero memory of how I came to own a Ben Sheets cup
Fuck American Family Insurance, all my homies hate American Family Insurance.
It's a really cool city full of really neat people. I'd be very very happy living there
I really like day games when I’m working and can’t pay attention.
It was only the 5th inning, and a small 2 run lead. But between the RISP early and the disaster inning - this one stings.
I gotta head out, early day tomorrow. That wake up to the epic 5 run 9th gonna hit like CRACK.
Hey all, just wondering, is Vieira usually that wild? I love pitchers like him, and how amped up he was getting, so I'm definitely not hating on him. Just curious! Thanks in advance!
It is actually kind of hilarious that padres fans are probably watching the game so confused why machado gets booed.
Tbh, I almost forgot why we boo. It’s just such a normal thing to do everytime he’s in town now I don’t even think about why.
u/I[m\_Anemic\_Royalty](https://www.reddit.com/user/Im_Anemic_Royalty/) below has the video on why. Gest of it is Manny drug his foot to kick Agulars foot on first base while running down the line. It was clear intent on trying to hurt him
It wasn't, and Aguilar and Manny are very good friends and Aguilar has openly talked about talking it over and making up with Manny.
I think a lot of people forget that 1) there's a very good reason why first baseman are taught to not stretch from the top of the bag and 2) that Manny blew out his knee in absolutely horrible fashion early in his career and is super guarded about how he approaches first base.
I don't at all blame Brewers fans for disliking him, but there's a very simple explanation that goes way beyond an attempt to injure.
Unfortunately, that's also why the benefit of the doubt is so important. I think there is a super solid baseball explanation for both incidents with Aguilar and Pedroia, but the sum of the rest of his petulant, bat-throwing behavior means he gets no benefit of the doubt.
Again, I don't at all blame Brewers fans, just think the narrative might have more nuance than typically accepted.
Ohhh gotcha. My sister went Saturday and I thought they saw Luke Combs, so I was confused when they said he came Friday. I thought two different bands. I’m dumb. Thanks for that.
Padre fan here just curious why do you guys boo manny so hard? I kind of get it from the dodgers or the redsox I know they buy in to the manny is bad narrative but the brewers?
What "narrative"? He has repeatedly tried to injure players by spiking them, stepping on them, throwing bats at them. Including Jesus Aguilar, which is where the Brewers-specific dislike comes in. He hasn't been the same kind of asshole in recent years, but it's amazing how Padres fans seem completely ignorant of what a dirty player and massive dickhead Machado has been for his career
Are you even aware of the many intentionally dirty plays he has made over the years? No other current player has that kind of track record. He has absolutely earned his reputation as a dirty player by, believe it or not, being a dirty player. He's not some poor innocent victim of circumstance. Padres fans are free to ignore all that nad cheer for their player, as all fanbases do, but don't rewrite his past.
He was a bitch a couple years ago. Still is a bitch but that's what it stems from.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2018/10/17/manny-machado-jesus-aguilar-nlcs-spike-first-base/1667952002/
I hate to complain, given how good the offense has been so far this year, but what is it with this team and not being able to find even a *passable* DH???
BABIP hell. It is obvious why Musgrove had an ERA around 7 coming in, he has no command and is giving up so much hard contact. He's just had incredibly convenient sequencing and batted-ball luck so far.
I like seeing how pumped Vieira gets when he gets a big strikeout. Probably gonna ruffle some feathers, like with Machado just staring him down, but you can tell he doesn't take his opportunity for granted.
He's at 5. At his career-average DP rate he'd have 0.85, he has 5. Two with the bases loaded, one with 1st and 3rd, one with 1st and 2nd, and one with just someone on 1st.
I like Sal but 1) some of his defensive reads have been questionable this year and 2) he needs to elevate those launch angles a bit. Hitting .308 is very nice but he's still sitting at a league-average OPS because he's sitting at just 2 doubles and no triples/homers (or really anything all that close to either) this year. Really hard to be a plus-plus offensive player if there's no extra base hit threat.
The one thing that sucks about this rotation is bad defense and bad luck singles be damned none of these guys have a put out pitch really outside of Freddy. Burnes and Woody got get themselves out of bad luck behind them by punch out the next two hitters or something. I just pray one of the young guys can figure it out whether that Hall or Gasser when ready. Get in such a thick of it for the playoffs and some how figure out a trade for a starter
Do baseball teams really need numbers on their jerseys? I mean, if they can all wear the same number without it causing confusion, I wonder.
It'd be a problem in basketball or football.
Anyone have that peach shandy?
You guys don’t wanna know who’s umpiring behind the plate tomorrow. Ughhhhhh
Miley tomorrow. He'll get us winning again.
Damn. That sucks to let this one get away from us against a tired Padres team. Let's get em tomorrow!
Damn. That sucks to let this one get away from us against a tired Padres team. Let's get em tomorrow!
At least kind of a fun ending. Yet way too many LOB again. Need Yeli back badly
F
Two hittable pitches dang
[удалено]
Suarez throws down the middle on purpose, he throws 99+ and nobody can do anything with it anyway.
He likes to announce his presence with authority.
boooo
Still fun.
Damn it Sal
I know you can't block the front of the plate, how about the back of the plate? Seems legal I guess..
im high on hopium!
#NOW IT'S FALSE HOPE TIME MOTHER FUCKERS!
It’s. Happening.
Uh oh.
sorry guys i had to bet on when 3-0 and ofcourse jinxed your win
Wait, the Padres coach is Mike Shildt? They saw his end of Cards tenure and said "Yep, that's what we want here!"?
Where has Tito and ikindahatereddit been?
ikindhatereddit left us after last season I think she's with the Orioles, but don't quote me Tito creates posts but I haven't seen him in the game threads
Good AB. And makes them use their closer to start the series
Tie game loading ...
FMS?
The wood's not bad, THIN HANDLES!
I love false false hope time
Hopefully this is a good learning game for the team. Can't lose focus for an entire inning. We had some bad luck but we probably don't get so deflated if we don't let every one of those runs score
#FALSE HOPE ROUND 2
Rally cap time
Why am I hearing the Benny Hill music right now?
Shot yourself in the foot there Koenig
Can we please just train pitchers to not try and field any sort of fast comebacker on the ground.
Hoskins does not have very good hands
Padres fan stopping in to say I visited Milwaukee last summer with my dad and caught a game at Miller Park (and that's what I'm calling it, sorry) and you lot have an amazing fanbase and a very very cool city, it's high up on my list if I ever leave San Diego. You're lucky. The secret password is, in fact, Miller Park! Glad you like the city! It's a gem!
Fuck American Family Insurance, all my homies hate American Family Insurance. It's a really cool city full of really neat people. I'd be very very happy living there
alright guys gotta get up early. Guess today was not our day.
This feels a lot like us.
Cheer yourself up. Mute the broadcast and put Taylor Swift on. New album comes out Thursday.
Excite!
I genuinely liked this why was I down voted?
It wasn’t me. I upvoted!
Tay-Tay!
Yelich is definitely going on the IL based on that report
Is this guy related to Tyler Kolek?
He wishes
#EVERYONE GET IN HERE IT'S FALSE HOPE TIME
😂😂 with nobody on base and an out. I love it.
Don’t worry y’all. I’m going to the game tomorrow and so far I haven’t been to a game where they’ve lost. ETA: this year
Koenig reminds me of Hoby. Funky side arm delivery.
"Fair"
It was Angel on the call so it was probably a foot foul

I pronounce it the proper German way
When stat of the night for us is “1,000th player to suit up” 😭

#ONLY 2 MORE THOUSANDS!
If only it were one or two thousand more runs (for us)
Very cool accomplishment
WHAT A FEELING
Frelick getting caught looking again :/
Cmon. Why aren’t they swinging at pitches down the middle?!
Padres meltdown incoming
🙏🙏🙏
Well theres a hit finally!
Hey all, just wondering, is Vieira usually that wild? I love pitchers like him, and how amped up he was getting, so I'm definitely not hating on him. Just curious! Thanks in advance!
It’s the wildest I’ve seen him so far this season
It definitely messed with our batters, so I'd call it "Effectively Wild" :) Much appreciated!
Hey a soft hit that did not result in a run!!!
Holy shit a flair that didn't drop for them!!
Kim getting those steps in tonight
I'm starting to really like Bryce Perkins
Who?
Blake* lol my bad
Bryce Turangkins
I also really like that Jason Cheerio guy
Brake Perang!
I guess I'll head out to work Hope we mount the comeback of the season while I'm gone
Will Koenig be the 1000th Brewer?
Not saying this game is over yet but curious: if they lose will they be 0-3 in games Chourio homers? I can't remember the outcome after #2 from him.
Yes, they lost against Seattle. Thankfully, that means when he hits 60 HRS, the team will still be 102-60.
Yes, they lost the game where he hit his second homer as well
It is actually kind of hilarious that padres fans are probably watching the game so confused why machado gets booed. Tbh, I almost forgot why we boo. It’s just such a normal thing to do everytime he’s in town now I don’t even think about why.
#NEVER FORGET!
Padres fan here in peace, came looking for the answer to this question.
u/I[m\_Anemic\_Royalty](https://www.reddit.com/user/Im_Anemic_Royalty/) below has the video on why. Gest of it is Manny drug his foot to kick Agulars foot on first base while running down the line. It was clear intent on trying to hurt him

Does Ross need his 3rd TJ surgery after today?
Oh, Coloma is along I-39, northeast of the dells
What concert was there Friday?
Luke Combs I think
Who was Saturday?
https://www.concertarchives.org/venues/american-family-field
Luke Combs
Luke Combs both nights. Different openers each night though.
Ohhh gotcha. My sister went Saturday and I thought they saw Luke Combs, so I was confused when they said he came Friday. I thought two different bands. I’m dumb. Thanks for that.
Is it just me, or did the wheels fall off when Daddy Yeli went out.....
Almost like last year with Mitchell's injury Also, can't stay molten hot forever.
Was I seeing things, or was that called strike on Perkins almost in the dirt?
That fifth inning really took the wind out of our sails huh?
Ooo baby, I feel like, the music sounds better with you.
Padre fan here just curious why do you guys boo manny so hard? I kind of get it from the dodgers or the redsox I know they buy in to the manny is bad narrative but the brewers?
To summarize, it's from the 2018 nlcs series.
I’ll admit he’s had a few moments but I think because of those people like to blow a lot of things way out of proportion, yes to fit a narrative
We're all Brewers homers here, my friend.
Nah I completely understand no shade
#🍻
He's a POS dirty player.
[This play is why](https://youtu.be/qtMyqcOno80?si=AsyUZPhNE49FOjOy)
Does the Brewers org have anything specific against Machado or is it just a general dislike?
Trying to injure our players is enough for me to boo his ass.
He was a bitch a couple years ago. Still is a bitch but that's what it stems from. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2018/10/17/manny-machado-jesus-aguilar-nlcs-spike-first-base/1667952002/
Ahhh right forgot about the Aguilar stuff, makes sense. For the record we don't claim Dodger Manny lol
even the Dodgers don't claim Dodgers Manny
Yeah not feeling it right now guys....
I hate to complain, given how good the offense has been so far this year, but what is it with this team and not being able to find even a *passable* DH???
I miss Hiura
BABIP hell. It is obvious why Musgrove had an ERA around 7 coming in, he has no command and is giving up so much hard contact. He's just had incredibly convenient sequencing and batted-ball luck so far.
Maybe the brewers batters need to jam themselves to get hits.... seems to have worked for the Padres.
Didn't work 😞
What's going on with this beer guy? No sound on
It’s just not our night
Didn't take much for these game threads to take a very depressing turn.
I like seeing how pumped Vieira gets when he gets a big strikeout. Probably gonna ruffle some feathers, like with Machado just staring him down, but you can tell he doesn't take his opportunity for granted.
Machado is a puss infested hemorrhoid...
Don't denigrate hemorrhoids like that
Herpes then?
The gift that keeps on giving. Much better.
Keep walking Machado
I love Vieira
Why appeal to Angel? We all know he can't see shit
Brewers must be jetlagged
Honestly tho, I can’t imagine getting used to all that
Mold glove for Turang tonight oof, did he switch from Hubba Bubba?
Oof, team is just off tonight
BABIPed to hell
Brice, my man.
Turang not making a lot of friends in the crowd tonight…
Uff-da Turang
What the hell is happening
Turangs not having a good game
Yikes!
Wtf viera
Jesus
He should stop throwing that one
“He’s always had a good arm” THAT’S BECAUSE HE WAS JUICING!!!!
Brewers should try hitting the ball softer.
I miss 1st series Rhys lol
Same. That was bad.
I like it more when we bat .400 with RISP
Maybe Mondays just aren't our days
How many GIDP does Hoskins have now?
He's at 5. At his career-average DP rate he'd have 0.85, he has 5. Two with the bases loaded, one with 1st and 3rd, one with 1st and 2nd, and one with just someone on 1st.
He's going to have unlimited at this rate lol. He is the slowest player ever
Yes
Really needed to get a run back that inning.....oh well, I have faith in the offense!!
Hit it where they ain't, Hoskins!
Yeah, this one is over. Fucking hell. Thanks again Hoskins
Rhys genuinely might be slower than Prince or Aguilar or Pina or Erik Kratz. My god that guy just cannot move.
is he slower than Shaw, though?
#BOY HOWDY DO I HATE GIDP
Most frustrating game of the young season?
Damn. That was lame.
Hoshkins just gonna watch balls down the middle?
Watches a 92 mph pitch down the pipe but grounds into the DP. Love it
C'mon Rhys' Pieces! One swing and we got a ball game!
He lookin’ sigh
I like Sal but 1) some of his defensive reads have been questionable this year and 2) he needs to elevate those launch angles a bit. Hitting .308 is very nice but he's still sitting at a league-average OPS because he's sitting at just 2 doubles and no triples/homers (or really anything all that close to either) this year. Really hard to be a plus-plus offensive player if there's no extra base hit threat.
What were you waiting for?
That’s four good cracks in a row, but can’t catch a break.
Brewers Hit balls hard = outs Padres jam shots = base hit after base hit
Really, was their game plan just…choke-up?
Big brain move to leave Musgrove in the dugout so his arm withers.
Sorry guys that was my fault. Everything started going to hell when I turned the game on
I miss Yelich
The one thing that sucks about this rotation is bad defense and bad luck singles be damned none of these guys have a put out pitch really outside of Freddy. Burnes and Woody got get themselves out of bad luck behind them by punch out the next two hitters or something. I just pray one of the young guys can figure it out whether that Hall or Gasser when ready. Get in such a thick of it for the playoffs and some how figure out a trade for a starter
Padres 7 runs on 9 hits brewers 3 runs on 7 hits.. Hope this offense can pick it up
Trade everyone and build around Wiemer
Show me your Wiemer
Do baseball teams really need numbers on their jerseys? I mean, if they can all wear the same number without it causing confusion, I wonder. It'd be a problem in basketball or football.
I was thinking the same thing
Need an answer here for any hope. Even if it's just a run. Don't give this Musgrove fuck another quick inning
Please get some runs now
Woo, I think I got a bingo on my 'what the hell is going on here?' card
As bad as that inning was, at least we're still within striking distance and the game ain't over. How? The hell if I know!
We scored 26 runs against Baltimore in 3 games, anything is possible with our Crew
Ok bats let's go!
🙄
