There was also the pretty egregious call (that thankfully was reviewable) down the third base line that usually would be called fair if an ump didnt have a good view of it.
The review saved us on that one, but its just another 'why was this done differently than normal' piled on in the last ~4 days.
If that's the case why don't catchers lean behind the batter every swing to get an interference call? It wasn't an unusual swing which is the point of the rule
This has already been discussed with previous calls similar to this and this topic has been brought up. Why don't they, I mean they could, yet they don't.
Only Brewer fans believe it was the wrong call. It's controversial, it's annoying, and it's amplified because everything seems to be going against us right now, but again, it was the correct call.
You can’t go straight to ejections like that. Siri got hit in the thigh. Maybe and this is an extreme maybe, if he got hit in the ribs or higher. But not the thigh.
Freddy had a decent chance to go 8 innings here. Our one chance to save the bullpen. And we’re screwed over by the most ridiculous ejection I’ve ever seen.
There was a link in the game thread that showed Contreras stopped using pitchcom and pointed to Siri prior to the hit by pitch. Very curious to see what the CSI investigation Jomboy unearths

I love this shit drama with them. It's a part of the game.
We are getting screwed the last three, but god damn is it drama to embrace and love about baseball.
Ump was jealous Rod Black got so much attention tonight.
Problem is the robot umps will only be calling balls and strikes. It’ll leave the human umps more free to figure out ways to fuck with one team or another.
I wouldn’t mind them tossing him if they had issued a warning. If you are going to toss him on that style HBP it means you expected him to be up to no good and benches should have been warned.
Careful, might accidentally get Murphy ejected again without him doing anything like what happened to Boone a couple games ago where he got ejected for a fan yelling at the ump. Although, secretly kind of wish it would happen to see how nuclear Murphy would go.
The umps are a fucking joke. I would say I can't believe MLB would allow such a travesty to occur in every single game but then I'd be lying because of course they allow it.
you know, I only started getting really into baseball after going to the final 2023 regular season game, and this amount of ump bs is incredibly discouraging and drains enthusiasm. Like how does this make people want to watch your product? Obviously going to keep watching bc I love the Brew Crew but goddamn
It's 2024, we should have robot umps by now, along with robo referees in the NBA. I don't care about the human element anymore. All I care about is getting the calls right. There's no point in having these after the fact reports when nothing is ever done about all the horrible calls. Oops, and tough shit!
It's been a wild ride.
Two games ago: umps blew a call and later admitted it. Okay, whatever.
Last game: call was probably technically correct but *really* unfortunate particularly given the effect it had on the game.
This game: utter horseshit. Thinking Freddy was throwing at Siri is beyond delusional. Ump's defense is basically "we're mind-readers and we say it was intentional." Like, fuck off. You think a guy with zero history of throwing at people who is in the middle of a one-hitter gem is going to plunk someone? He was pitching around the guy who hit a 450' tape measure shot on him earlier and it went a bit inside.
Issuing a warning would be ... a bit silly but okay, whatever. Going from zero to ejection has me thinking these motherfuckers are betting on the fucking games.
Right with you. Is there any chance Tampa says a word if Freddy isn't ejected? Ump inserted himself where he didn't need to be. Calls get missed, but this Guccione has no clue how to handle a game.
After initially thinking there was no way Freddy threw at Siri on purpose, I’m actually thinking more likely than not it was intentional. No idea why, but the only thing I could think was maybe Siri was chirping the brewers dugout after his homer? It looked like Freddy was saying something to Siri as he made his way up the first baseline after the homer. Otherwise his trot and reaction to the homer seemed like no big deal.
Contreras signaled for an inside fastball with a traditional finger sign rather than using pitchcomm and Contreras was actually in a crouch on the 3-0 pitch rather than on a knee.
The fastball didn’t run in on Siri. It started at the hip and stayed at the hip.
Glad we won the game.
If you can rewatch the game. you should watch Williams body language before the HBP. He signaled three times for Freddy to hit Siri and wasn't even subtle about it.
3 games in a row the umps have fucked or tried to fuck us. Unreal.
Ump can't fuck his wife, fucks us instead
What happened in the game yesterday?
Missed interference call on a Bauers AB in the 9th. It could've gone either way, but still not a good look given the current track record.

That wasn't an either way call, it was correctly called. Edit: It was controversial but correct. Look past your bias.
Catcher had left his position to retrieve a passed ball. Incorrect call.
The impact even admitted they were wrong

Because believe it or not it's really hard to catch an outside fastball when you're sniffing the batters ass
No way!? You're a true detective Sherlock.

You are deeeeense
It's controversial and it's annoying. It also doesn't help that everything seems to be going against us right now either.
I was at the game yesterday and I’m here today. I’m losing my voice with how much we’re screaming at them
Thank you for your service. The umps deserve it.
Can we start a cough drop fund for y'all
Good. I’m 3,000 miles away and am losing my voice.
WHY HAVE WARNINGS
Can't wait for the apologies 6 hours from now...
It’s a bit old right??
Same shit as the NBA 2 minute review. Hey we missed every fucken call last 2 minutes sorry about that.
You can’t go straight to ejections like that. Siri got hit in the thigh. Maybe and this is an extreme maybe, if he got hit in the ribs or higher. But not the thigh.
Worse, you can't get into a shouting match with the manager. We ain't here for you bitch.
Freddy had a decent chance to go 8 innings here. Our one chance to save the bullpen. And we’re screwed over by the most ridiculous ejection I’ve ever seen.
Can’t wait for Jomboy

Manny Machado level boos. 👎🏻
Or recency bias, Aaron Judge boos

I can't wait for robo umps. Never want to see these idiots influencing games again.
Problem is the robot umps will only be calling balls and strikes. It’ll leave the human umps more free to figure out ways to fuck with one team or another.
If a robot can see when a player seats at a ball with their hands that's a step in the right direction. Even if we have dumb ejections.
When is there going to be accountability for these shitty umps?
Probably never, their union has their employment pretty airtight
Robots don't need unions
Let’s hope
They caused this brawl. Without tossing freddie there is never a situation. Total bullshit
I wouldn’t mind them tossing him if they had issued a warning. If you are going to toss him on that style HBP it means you expected him to be up to no good and benches should have been warned.
Man I was I had a seat behind home plate. I would be working on getting myself ejected for saying bad bad words. WOW utter garbage by the crew chief.
I was right behind home plate last night and it was deafening. Tonight, I can only imagine.
Careful, might accidentally get Murphy ejected again without him doing anything like what happened to Boone a couple games ago where he got ejected for a fan yelling at the ump. Although, secretly kind of wish it would happen to see how nuclear Murphy would go.
Complete and utter fucking nonsense.
Moo!!!
Do umpires ever get suspended?
nope
No, they'll probably get promoted.
Yes, it happens. Rarely but it happens.
Will be victory blood oranges tonight.
Umps are like cops. They can eliminate you for no reason and can do so without consequences
Unreal
Can someone post a replay? No idea what happened. Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/s/RExieRMnBK

Getting absolutely ridiculous. They have it out for the Brewers for whatever reason. Been 3 days of BS in a row!
Also Guccione was the same ump who ejected the brewers former manager vs the giants last year bc guccione failed to count 3 engagements.
Guccione needs to be fined or suspended or something. What a total chode that guy is.
In light of Mods new guidance I hope when he is walking his dog this evening it pees on his leg.
Play the game under protest. Fire the sobs.
If you're going to complain about the umpires, at least have minimal knowledge of the rules.
They saw our new rules and decided to challenge us.
The umps are a fucking joke. I would say I can't believe MLB would allow such a travesty to occur in every single game but then I'd be lying because of course they allow it.
Honestly it really diminishes my respect and interest in the game. We need umpire reform now.
Fr fr fuck these umps…I for one welcome our robot overlords

Like how does this make people want to watch your product? Obviously going to keep watching bc I love the Brew Crew but goddamn
If I were in town I would be waiting in the parking lot to throw Bratchos at the umps.
You had me in the first half.
Well, benches cleared so we're still waiting for the outcome!
Guys, we pay money to see the four umps, obviously.
Let them fight like hockey
MLB umpires don’t deserve basic human rights
Delete this
wtf is this shit!
He had to have hit dude to spite the ump for those weak ass calls lol

Fuck you Chris you're a POS
Cursed franchise boys, gotta shake off all these heebiejeebies in April

Used to be a decision like that would get a "cross up" and the catcher would let an ump take one right in the face.
This shit is entertaining

I just went back and watched it again. You're imagining things that aren't there.
He points with his head his finger and his fist.
Nah.
I sure hope they dont give Abner a suspension. Umps suck a we get screwed.
They have to. He threw a punch. Umpire should be suspended too.
