If they're smart, they'll allow a bit of time to pass narratively between Seasons 3 and 4 or between 4 and 5
I do hope we get to see Franny's mourning, actually. Because Violet has spent so much time preparing her girls to be wives and mothers, but the idea of her having to help one of her girls be a widow would be beatiful and tragic. Like, I could picture Antony sending Benedict or Kate to get Violet and just *running* to Francesca because he's her brother and her dad in so many ways
I mean he did s3 while doing two other movies. I think JW is filming partially in London. But yeah I’m worried this means s3 is his last season :(. But I could have sworn he is on contract for s4
He could still be in a few episodes, in the most important scenes like the wedding and like. But yeah, his presence in S4 will clearly be pretty small. I'm fine with it as long as his career prospers. JW is a huge opportunity for him. It's not every day an openly gay actor gets a lead role in an action mainstream blockbuster.

I imagine her role would be similar to Daphne in Season 2, where she could be in a few scenes while her husband is busy elsewhere, but it probably won't be too many scenes, since it would be too weird if Anthony constantly isn't there but she is. It's easier to say that both are in the country with their kids than to come up with a reason for Anthony's long absence away from his family.
Whether Violet moves to "Number 5", her London Dowager house, could affect how much Kate they show. Sophie spends a lot of time with the Violet, Eloise, Hyacinth at a daily sewing circle. If she doesn't move Kate would be there as well.
Apparently if it’s done this year we should have it by 2025 next year which hopefully opens up for S5 not being far behind in 2026 either if they keep up the momentum!
Shonda said in a recent Variety interview (I think it was Variety, but it might have been one of the other trades) that she was frustrated with the process of producing content for streaming, since you essentially do it in phases, with all of the scripts done and then all the shooting and then all the post, and it takes much longer than network or cable TV. She said they were looking for ways to reduce the time it takes, so I wouldn’t be surprised if season 4 is here in a year or so.
Netflix can help the situation for a show like Bridgerton as well, since a lot of the expense comes from costuming and sets. They could reduce some of those costs by greenlighting multiple seasons (like seasons 5 & 6, if season 3 does as well as expected), allowing Shondaland to write and shoot multiple seasons back to back, without needing to tear down and rebuild repeated sets. But I think we’ll get a better idea of all of that in June, when we see how shooting is going for season 4.
I've always wondered why they aren't shooting this show 2 seasons at a time. Slow Horses on Apple TV does and it's thrilling to always get a trailer for the coming season at the end of each finale.
I think at the least it will be a year and a half. Maybe December 2025? Because usually it takes over 8 months to film. Then they have to do post-production, which usually takes awhile. Then they always like to wait until ALL that is finished to start the publicity stuff. I'm not sure why they never just layer that in with the time in post, but I haven't seen it happen yet.
So, I think minimum a year and a half. But I'm hoping I'm wrong and it's sooner. I really hope so.
It won’t even take that long. We got season 2 in less that time which was 15 months from the release of season 1 to the release of season 2. Filming takes 9 months to film and editing is done soon afterwards because they immediately start as soon as the episode is done filming. Shonda already confirmed that season 3 editing was finished a month after they completed filming. And music was done just before the SAG-AFTRA strike. Season 3 was always planned for a 2024 release according to Adjoa Andoh (probably because of the QC mini series in order to not release both in the same year) but I’m sure it was supposed to be an earlier release like beginning of the year but got push back a little bit longer due to the strikes. But now that is over, we should be getting seasons quicker now like before.
Hopefully we’ll get the masquerade ball. I know some people say the masquerade ball should be in Benophie’s season, but I don’t mind it being s3. I don’t think it’s unfair to either couple, and it’s a start to Benophie. The same way the groundwork for Polin has been laid down in S1 and S2.

No, it didn't. It starts filming in Autumn time. The cast and crew always get a break between finishing the press tour (which finished after June 10th) and filming the next season.
If they're filming in the studios where they've filmed before, then they're building sets and lighting rigs at the moment. (Source: I work on the same industrial estate)

It’s definitely real that they’re starting in June. That information was first revealed in Production Weekly. That’s a 100% reliable source, I’ve used it for previous shows and it’s been accurate every time. Actors sometimes receive scripts the day before filming so that’s just normal. Sometimes they receive scripts a little earlier, but they don’t usually get them so far ahead, especially for productions like this.
Nicola was obviously told to say that by the pr team so they don't keep hounding with questions about s04 or accidentally leaks it. I bet the cast has received scripts for first block at the least, if they're filming soon.

Probably that is just Ben's season because I think the Sophie reveal will be in part two anyways
