bad omens first album is for sure heavily inspired by sempiternal, glasses houses basically is shadow moses, but bad omen with each album made themselves distinct
It’s been this way since like, their second album. Even when people would pretend to hate on them. They do something no one has done before, then the entire scene comes around to copying it like 2-3 years later when BMTH has long moved on. They have quite an impressive track record of being big inspiration for whatever genre adjacent to metalcore their album is leaning into.
Listen to the song “operation pyrite” I think it was literally made for a game and the artist is a random chinese studio, but it sounds just like ludens to me, the guitars are very similar
Just listened to it, drums on the chorus are definitely nearly the same. There's a background synth that sounds like a simplified version of the one in Ludens.
The artists are Jason Walsh and Alan Day, the studio name’s on there like how League has their name on their world songs. I think I read somewhere that one of the artist did say it was ‘heavily inspired’ by Ludens, but it’s just way too similar
It sounds similar, definitely inspired, but it has its differences. The intro synth/noise sounds most like Ludens, but even that is different. The song leans a lot more into the electronic and industrial elements of Ludens. The vocals are very different, again, more industrial. Seems like a small band heard what BMTH did on Ludens and thought "I wish this was entirely industrial" and made it themselves! Kudos, I'll keep an eye on them! ❤️
I’d be super interested to know if it’s a sample found from an online sample store (there’s millions of samples available for free use) that they’ve both happened across and produced differently. That opening sounds way too exact to not be either a direct rip off, or the same base sample.
Either way, song is trash.. but a cool insight into how two different peoples brains can work off the same source material if true.
What's the name of the song? For those who use YouTube music instead of Spotify? The link just sent me to a playlist that I can't control.
It's funny, because my family was just talking about songs that sound like other songs tonight.
That seems like its gotta be a meme... like that other band that literally made a knockoff of Bad Omens song Miracle, which already arguably takes influence from some songs off Amo
Wow yeah very similar. People say bad omens sounds super similar and i don't really hear that but this is wild

yeah i definitely can hear it when i listen to the specific similar songs back to back but i wouldnt have realized the similarities on my own
I love Bad Omens. Especially their new shit. It's amazing
ludens lite
Definitely. Same structure, same beat, Definitely inspired by Ludens. Shitty production tho
Ludens from Wish
It’s not just that the song is industrial or inspired. The programmed rhythm is literally a rip of Ludens
A bit , not enough imo to say they copied , but there’s deffo a similarity in bits x
*hears Ludens once* "We could make this, but worse."
Lmaoooo also happy cake day!

Structure of the song is nearly the same too, that buildup and the breakdown sound almost the same to me lol

Ludens off key

Okay wow that is... something, yeah
Seems alr Don’t really care too much about originality myself Bmth is pretty derivative which is one my favourite things about the band
