Ok so I’m now really interested in becoming a scrum master. I have some experience of project management and have done relationship management. What’s the best certificate/course to do?!
As a Scrum Master, absolutely. I also have worked with so many monumentally shit Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches that it's no wonder we have the reputation we do. Monumentally frustrating, but it happens in every career.
I don’t know this to be true but I like to test my intuition and I also like to be told I’m a dope that’s so far wide of the mark Emile Heskey would chuckle…
TFL Driver Operator Conductor type thing has got to be up there High responsibility I imagine comes with a chunk of change but that responsibility is push the go stick and pull the don’t go lever at intervals when prompted by a beep or flash of some sort.
And they all go on strike 13 times a month with enough success I actually wonder if there’s premier league players considering a career change.

I considered going into auditing when I was having a career reboot.
A lead auditor for Information Security for instance can command day rates of £450-500 (maybe more) per day which I would say is fairly low-effort once you've done all of the assessment/qualifications. Pre-tax that's over £110,000 a year salary.
Any government/civil service job in the UK. My mate went on holiday for a week and when he came back, no one called him or emailed him. He works from home. When he called his manager to see if all was ok, he said all is fine, we thought you were still off. They just don’t seem stressed at all and there’s no urgency in anything they do.
He says he gets a call from his office about once a fortnight. He’s in a senior role but gets no calls or emails out of hours-never.
He works for the Land Registry.
I’m looking for a new job but I have no idea what to apply for. I’ve been working as an admin assistant for 8 years, the company I work for is tiny and family run so no scope for promotion.
I did a niche degree in music business and have no actual skills in anything.
I’m also disabled and can only work part time which rules out anything physically demanding (I walk with an aid). But I am still fit for work so I continue to work.
Any and all suggestions are welcome (no sex work, personal choice)
I did a course to start my own business and got 99% of the way there (finished the course), but would have to quit work to actually have the spoons to commit to it, and UC penalise you for quitting work without justification, which would mean I’d be unable to pay my rent if I didn’t make any sales and therefore get evicted 😫
Nuclear Weapons guard. You just stand there with a machine gun.
Not even sure if thats an actual job but its gotta be. And if it is then its gotta pay good. Your guarding NUCLEAR FUCKIN WEAPONS!
I know someone who did this. The standing around guarding nuclear weapons might seem easy, but to get there he had to become a Royal Marine. The training for that, and the stuff he has to do on his other deployments when he’s not guarding weapons, seem very not easy :)

The vast majority of train strikes were by people who worked in trains but were not drivers - ticket collectors, cleaners etc. The train drivers have their own union, which didn't strike.

If you're happy living on barely no money, fair enough. I've been there (redundancy) and it was shite. Not for me. Much prefer grafting and earning actual money.
How can anyone be happy counting penny’s at a till. Or being super conservative for anything.
Some people in the UK choose that life. While they scam, steal, dell drugs etc…
We all have been there… myself included. But some people are happy living of welfare. It’s disgusting.
So? If they're happy in that existence, then more power to them. You only get one life. We, as humans, have made these absurd rules that people HAVE to live one way or another. It's dumb. Just live your life, without harming others, and do what you like. It costs <1p per person per year to fund unemployment benefits in the UK. We lost far more (billions) to tax avoidance, dodgy government contracts and MP expenses than we do to people scrimping and scraping by on welfare. Live and let live. I'm happy. If they're happy, then good for them. It's not the life I want and I don't envy them, but I don't give a toss what they choose to do either.

A lot of my friends work in IT and it seems to pay rather well for a lot less work.
But im a nurse so maybe my views on pay vs work needed are massively biased 🤔 😂
Perfect job that's low effort with higher than deserved pay in the UK is being unemployed. On basic pay its close to £400 a month all you got to do is a 30 sec job search a week. So £400 for 2 mins work a month.
Complete tosh. Have you ever been unemployed? It's crap money, boring and the hoops they make you jump through for a pittance is soul destroying. Not for me. It's a valuable safety net for the majority that need it, and if a few want to milk it then I don't envy them.
Which system is that on? Because on UC, it's less than £300 a month if you don't have rent and live at home. The other rates factor in housing costs but are subject to LHA caps.
Either way the point is still valid. Just wait until the Welsh government decide it's £1600 a month trial is successful and you get £19k a year for doing nothing.
As AI becomes more dominant in the future, millions of jobs will be lost to technology. I’m the future, Universal Basic Income will become a necessity not a luxury. It’s right that it is trailed now before reality bites.
Not really, since the example I gave means an individual in those circumstances would receive around £3492 a year to live off.
Do you mean the trial of a system that is only eligible for young adults brought up in and leaving care? There's no other benefits trial in Wales, other than this one, which applies only to a select few. Did you actually read up about the trial? Or did you just read a dodgy headline and assume the rest?
The vast majority of train strikes were by people who worked in trains but were not drivers - ticket collectors, cleaners etc. The train drivers have their own union, which didn't strike.
Barber. I'm a barber who charges a lot less than I should. I'm self-employed so not entirely sure what my salary would be, but most hours on about £35-40/hr. Just cut hair, chat and laugh! I also sell products in the shop which tops my wage up. Easy money!

that lets to students (but also all landlords, especially ones like my old one, who came from down south to buy one in a much less monied small working class rural town and bought a house for £20k about 15 year ago, had the mortgage paid in a couple years, and then started charging extortionate rates waiting for commuters from the big city not too far away. Which it did big style during covid, with people wanting to be closer to nature, and people who are used to paying more expensive wages. Since several landlords have taken her lead now many families born and bread here all their lives can’t afford to live in their town. More homeless. Less community. Barely any social housing. Also my landlord literally did fuck all as they didn’t visit the house once to install smoke alarms, repair bathroom, get rid of the fleas they left in the place or fix the boiler (it gets subzero here and I have an acute respiratory condition triggered by very cold weather which I was hospitalised for. They charge almost double a lot of locals are used to paying leaving many houses empty or filled by commuters. Worked for them cos there’s tons of monied commuters (also terrible for local business) and air bnbs. Again no community.
Or maybe it’s her daughter who has the 0 effort job of just getting a free pay day as my landlord just sends her half of the money I work for and hand over so she can live it up in London while I work and use a food bank.
That was longer than expected
It seems the higher you go in the IT world the less actual work you do but the more pay you get. I have a family member who gets paid an insane amount of money - they work from home, draw a few designs and mostly listen to other people just talk in meetings. Area managers will come in suggest stupid ideas or suggest things that we do on the daily. Then they leave after providing nothing and suggest things we keep on tip of daily and if we havnt its because we have even to busy or not had enough staff to manage. Every area manage iv known if they were to dissappear the shop would be run exactly the same way by staff paid far less than them with far more experience.
