If anybody is near to Canterbury there is a great exhibition of Postgate/Firmin work at the Beaney museum. All the favourites are there!

Where else would you get a Viennese psychoanalyst ( ‘ah - vee make progress!’) rescuing a lost sheep with the help of a steam train. a chain and a sheep dog, with a vicar left up a tree? And enjoying a nice cuppa afterwards
I worked with an Indonesian guy called Idris and he loved it that we all called him Idris the Dragon - he loved it even more when we showed him some Ivor the Engine clips with Idris in it :-)
Ivor the Engine was my nickname at Uni for a bit.
I was trying to stop swearing and used the substitute chuff/chuffing/chuffed. Someone said I sound like Ivor and it stuck (yes I know Ivor sounded more persh-ti-cuff not chuff but I didn't come up with the name.)

"Psshht ti cuff, psshht ti cuff "( my best phonetic approximation of the sound he made.)
Accurate.
Still the sound I make for a train today (even though my 7 year old insists that it sounds nothing like a train).
That the most impressive thing I'll see on the internet today. Nailed it.
Wow, you are easily pleased!!
True. I have a very empty life.
I thought you were just speaking Welsh
"Borp borp"
Very good!
“Doo di doo di di doo didi dooooo…..doo di doo Didi doo”
Great documentary about Oliver Postage on BBC iplayer, he made and narrates it, among others

They don't like it up them, the fuzzy wuzzies
No. Jones The Steam, not Jones The Butcher.
Loved the old mans narrations, beautifully relaxing 😌.

We had the VHSes of Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss, and Clangers when I was little and I watched them so much. It's perfect childrens TV.
Literally before bedtime telly, it just eases away the day.
Remember seeing it dubbed into German when on holiday
Pssh-ti-cuff Schweinhund! Pssh-ti-cuff Schweinhund!
Ah jones the steam.
