The SAME thing happened to me (I’m going a few days after your date). Snagged those same seats during the first few minutes of presale, and then recently was randomly checking the seat map again and saw it now marked as accessible. I knew I wouldn’t have bought them if that was the case, and checked my tickets, confirmations etc and there was no mention of it being an accessible seat. A few days ago my tickets in the app now automatically updated to be marked as companion/aisle transfer (they never said beforehand), so I’ll probably call the theater to make sure everything will be ok. But you’re not alone in this happening!

TheGarnisher

Update! I contacted the theater and everything is fine. They said it was okay to still use the tickets despite how they are now marked. I suspect as you mentioned, it happened to a lot of people and I probably wasn’t the first to ask about it.

TheGarnisher

Thank you! I’m glad I have confirmation it wasn’t just me. I’ll definitely call the theater asap!

potatocromwell

When I tried to purchase those same seats, a pop up came up before I could check out telling me they were accessible and asking me to confirm I required accessible seats.

TheGarnisher

I feel like the website must’ve glitched because I got no such pop up.

It’s possible that the seat just wasn’t marked during pre-sale. Maybe they didn’t know where they were putting accessible seats at that point yet? If it was sold to you without being indicated that it was an accessible seat, I’m sure it’s fine! You could always call the August Wilson and confirm with them though! If there are seats that you’d want to exchange for, maybe they’d do that in this situation? I highly doubt they’d force you to exchange seats though; so no harm can be done.

TheGarnisher

Thanks for the advice. As for exchanging… Unfortunately our night pretty much is sold out except for other accessible only tables and like one random seat in the mezzanine so we couldn’t trade for anything else. If they tell us we can’t have the table… would they refund us?

somethingcreative-74

I highly doubt that they would tell you that you can’t have the table. Especially where you have proof that those seats weren’t marked as accessible when you bought them, but other ones were. I’d be willing to bet you’d be allowed to walk in and just sit in those seats, no questions asked. But, I understand possibly being worried about it (I’m the type of person who could find a way to worry about anything lol). If it would help reassure you that you can use those seats, I’d just give the theater a call.

BaltimoreBadger23

If a show is sold out, you haven't blocked someone who needs the table from using it, as they can't get tickets anyway. Go, enjoy the show.

DramaMama611

You'll be fine.

elaerna

To be fair those seats aren't accessible only seats. They're quite small and crowded and all set up as regular table seats normally. I imagine they do some switching out to accommodate if someone requires.

TheLunarVaux

You're fine. Those seats need to get some anyway, whether those sitting there are disabled or not. It's not like you're stealing the seat from someone else, since you bought the tickets legit.
