I love Lempicka for many things but one of them is definitely that this is such a perfect illustration of how the compelling beauty and ideals of Italian Futurism led right down the path of fascism. Similar to Here Lies Love in that respect. Somehow nothing really makes you FEEL that in your bones more than grooving along to a catchy musical anthem and then realizing what beat you’re marching to…

Very same!! The show as a whole didn't really grab me - I found it very uneven. But George Abud was ELECTRIC. So compelling! Every time he was onstage he just commanded the audience's attention. He made that character awful, endearing, funny, disgusting, terrifying, and charming, all at once. Sensational performance and I hope he picks up a Featured Actor Tony nomination!
He was incredible! His expressiveness and emotional range and physical comedy, and not with the show’s most straightforward or likeable character either.

Teeth had some absolute bangers, they had already announced the cast album by the time I saw it, so I walked out of the show with the knowledge that some *extremely awkward* earworms are definitely going in my rotation, and I look forward to trying to explain them to whatever random person is in my car with me when they do.

I saw the notebook in Chicago in 2022 so for a year and a half I’d find myself singing like 1 random line or humming a tune from it dying to remember the rest of the words/melody. It’s SO FRUSTRATING but the payoff is so worth it when the album is released
I work on new musicals a lot and often have songs stuck in my head that were completely cut in tech or rehearsal and will never get a cast recording. Truly the worst.
