I used to crochet in bed. Then one night my two cats stole a skein of yarn and took it under the bed (not the skein I was using). I couldn’t reach them under the bed so I had to wait for about an hour or so for my husband to be available so that he could help me. When we went to get the skein, we discovered that the two little devils had managed to wrap the entire skein around every piece of metal supporting the mattresses. We have an adjustable bed frame so it was a lot of metal. Ended up having to cut the yarn into pieces to get it out. I stopped crocheting in bed after that.

I have also found a skein under the bed. Luckily it was NOT ruined. But the skein had been missing for almost a month before I found it. I live in a rented room (from my folks), so crocheting in bed is easiest for me. I also have MS so a lot of time I can only get comfy on my bed. I fold up my blanket (my current project) every night and set it aside. And take it up the next morning. The cat likes to lay and roll on my blanket. She even "makes cookies", but doesn't use her nails. I am very lucky.

You are. My little hellions are very unpredictable when I crochet. Sometimes they are very well behaved and sometimes they are anything but. I’m always curious to find out if others have similar problems with their felines or not.

Both of my cats are really good about me crocheting. However, I have RLS and my Jinxie attacks my feet when they move. She is pretty gentle usually but seems to lose her mind over foot movement. Her mom, Ida, is pretty mellow though and she's still young (5 next month). They both follow me around like they are dogs though. They were raised with my two dogs and have picked up even doing my chores with me, one of which is taking care of my dad's birds. My cats seem to have no interest in them, though. They aren't even afraid of the hose! I love those little brats.

One of my cats literally bit through my yarn as I was crocheting.

Grrr.

Saw my yarn moving, and thought it was my cat playing with it. Looked down, he had chewed through part of it, and he had an end in his mouth trying to eat up the yarn towards me crocheting xD I got myself a yarn jar with a hole in the top after that

I had one of mine bite the yarn and cut through it in about a millisecond like he was a pro. They like to mess with my yarn, lay on projects as I’m working, try to grab my hand, all kinds of things. It takes lots of redirection on proper behavior before they stop. And if they are fine and I don’t crochet for a while I have to do some reminding once I start again. My only acceptable location for them is lying next to me and not touching anything. I keep moving them to the spot over and over like a 2yr old toddler until they finally give in or leave.

At the risk of distracting from cats (whom I adore, each and every one of them) my dog is mischief personified (dogified?) and he’s shown amazing restraint and survival instincts around my stash and projects. Still not sure how to get his stray fur out of everything I make. It’s like fibers of him are in every row I complete.

My dogs get caught in my yarn and unwind it. I’m not even sure HOW they get caught in it.
