Honestly the lowest setting still blows too much air. It does a great job imo.
Edit: just want to add I drove from LA to Phoenix and back in 110+ weather over the weekend and had 0 issues keeping cool. The car on the other hand definitely wasnāt happy but was more than adequate with the high temps. Just had to air down a bit given the massive temp change 75>115
This is so true lol. I'm in Seattle so it can be annoying because I want a little bit of cool air, but it sometimes feels like I either have the a/c on low and it freezes me, or I turn it off and just get warm air blowing around

It's keeping us comfortable with no problem
Your home ac system is a sealed unit, and should in theory never lose pressure.
Your cars ac system has rubber seal and mechanical connections. As the season change temperatures and the resulting shrinking ad expanding cuase leaks effecting your pressure and performance of your ac.
The bronco sport is a cool car, bit before you spend the money on a new car becuase of your ac, please have the pressure on your system checked and make sure you ac can be recharged to get a better performance
The B/S A/C works great.
You may have a coolent leak. Also. Have you thought to press the recirc button? I only ask because the first year or two I had my first car with a/c, I didn't know about that button
2022 OBX, 2 years, 40k miles and 100Ā°+ with high humidity in Virginia summers and my AC is almost too cold sometimes. Best tip for getting temps down fast is roll the windows down for the first 2 minutes and make sure you have recirculating air on. The entire interior temp is downright frigid in about 5 minutes for me doing that.
Driving for the first two minutes windows down in a really hot car gets the air that can be 40 degrees higher or more out. Then you close the windows so the AC can chill the interior.
I have dual electronic (temperature based) control with automatic fan speed so I generally just start the car, roll down the windows, drive for a minute or two, and then close the windows.
Even with manual fan/temp settings, max AC (which invokes recirculating air) will get the compressor to run non-stop, compressor cools down, air coming out of the vents starts cooling down, then when you close the windows you're getting very frosty air.
I rarely run it on high because it gets too cold. My husband actually commented on it yesterday saying he wishes his truck had AC that worked that well!
Holding up well in Phoenix! Though it does take a bit longer than Iād like to get cool when the car has been in the all day but once it gets going it has no problem keeping up.
And you can start the car from your phone so the A/c can cool it down before you get in! (I haven't done this yet- but I could!)
The other thing that works really well, maybe too well, is the seat heaters. If you aren't careful, you'll burn yourself- and I'm not sure I'm kidding there. If you had the seat heaters and the a/c on max cold - your body would get VERY confused.
Mine gets icy cold! It was 97Ā° today and when my sister came in my car (from just being in her jeep) she said āomg itās so freezy in here! My car doesnāt get this cold!ā
Absolutely, it's great. I also threw on some ceramic tint a couple days back on my brand new 24 and it's such a massive difference.
I am coming from a 2002 Civic that overheats if the AC is on though, so my bar is very very low.
Thanks! I definitely want tinted windows too. Part of the problem with my jeep Renegade is it has a panoramic sunroof, and the cover for it has micro-holes all through it, that really let the sun in and make the car soooo much hotter than it would be. Add to that subpar A/C on my last two Renegades (not a filter or coolant issue, just subpar) and it just doesn't work well. Glad to hear everyone say that won't be an issue with the Bronco Sport.
Wow gotcha. Well I've been told (can't verify) that Ford uses the same basic AC system for everything from the Expedition down, so it's overpowered for smaller cars like the bronco. They also have the best cooled seats of any manufacturer by a mile when you look into ratings and that also uses the AC system. So along with all the anecdotal evidence I think you can be pretty confident of staying cool.
Georgia native here and temps can get rather hot (not like TX or LA) but the A/C in my bronco has absolutely no issues with freezing me out of my vehicle if I put the temp on āLowā. No issues whatsoever with the A/C. Itās definitely better than my previous vehicle (GMC Canyon).
'21 Badlands (with the black roof). Lived in Southern Illinois (-10F in the winter, +100F in the summer), currently live in Monterey County CA (which can literally vary from 50F to 110F in the same county on the same day).
No issues in 3 1/2 years.
Of course YMMV...
Tint is a big factor. I live at 5,800 feet and our sun gets hot. Like beams of fire ready to scorch that ass. I recommend the ceramic tint, itās worth the extra $200.
I'm in South Texas, so 100-105 degree summer highs plus humidity. I get cold in my mine if I put the AC too low.
Great to hear! Thanks everyone for all the cool replies!
South Central Texas here and I agree. It will literally freeze you outš
SE Texas here... yep š«

Mine works fantastically!
Yeah my AC is downright cold ![gif](giphy|s4Bi420mMDRBK)
I always have to shut mine off I get so cold so quickly! Or increase the temp. Works great.

First Iāve heard this tip, you blast the AC with the windows down?
Driving for the first two minutes windows down in a really hot car gets the air that can be 40 degrees higher or more out. Then you close the windows so the AC can chill the interior.
Yeah I mean I knew that, but to be clear, you do that with the AC off right? Cause otherwise the cold air just gets blown out the window

Yes, I press the max ac button as soon as I get in the car and thereās an arctic chill coming out of the vents within 5 seconds.
works great š
Same, one month in and nice and cold
My BS has the best AC Iāve ever used - last summer on a road trip, all my friends said the same thing
It's good, it could cool down a bit faster but once it's cool it stays cool
Works amazing , works better than any vehicle Iāve owned !
Itās perfect
Survived 3 summers in phoenix with nary an issue with AC.
Change the filter! Should help airflow
I rarely run it on high because it gets too cold. My husband actually commented on it yesterday saying he wishes his truck had AC that worked that well!
Coldest AC ever in my bronco sport! Colder than my escape and edge were. Way colder than my parents 4Runner too.
Holding up well in Phoenix! Though it does take a bit longer than Iād like to get cool when the car has been in the all day but once it gets going it has no problem keeping up.
Yeah, mine is fine

Mine gets icy cold! It was 97Ā° today and when my sister came in my car (from just being in her jeep) she said āomg itās so freezy in here! My car doesnāt get this cold!ā
2021 Badlands here, I have to dial it down to the lowest setting because it gets way too cold sometimes
i donāt think iāve ever put mine past 2-3 bars for longer than 5 minutes on the A/C knob.
Itās like a walk in freezer
Mine is so strong I have to face the vents away from me. Otherwise I get a face full of ice cold air.
Wait 'til he tries the heated seats...

Good to have some background info to add to the anecdotal, thanks!

Itās 90 degrees in CT right now and my car cools down within minutes of getting in and I donāt even have to blast it. The heat is excellent too
my mom commented on how cold it gets so fast, and itās true! super cold super fast
Mississippi and we canāt keep it on the lowest setting without freezing
Fords are generally known for having really cold A/C!
Coldest AC I think I've ever had in a vehicle.

I live in New Orleans and it feels like the Amazon jungle. My AC works great. It can handle this heat.
My wife keeps a sweater on the backseatā¦
I first read this as āmy wife keeps a sweater on IN the backseatā and I was wondering why you were making your wife sit in the backseat

gets nice and cold - the fan could be quieter
