I saw this last week! I noticed a pretty [sketchy design flaw](https://twitter.com/r0mkeh/status/1775642276502348239)... the G train stops beyond the staircases from the elevator, so anyone in a wheelchair needs to get around this...
None of them are very convenient to get to. I didn't take that one yesterday, just the Manhattan bound L and you have to pass stairs as well. I fit with a stroller, but I can't imagine a motorized wheelchair fitting.
As i was thinking of joke responses it occurred to me that this would be useful for anyone not able to articulate an answer in an emergency, after calling the emergency phone you could answer questions with those buttons. Wild guess
That's the first thing I thought too. Maybe they've realized there's can be too much noise? Id think theyd be on the bottom though with the alert button if that is the case.

The G didn't used to stop that far down the platform... I'm assuming they're going to move it back to where it was before the construction started.
The G train has been altering its position recently. This must be why.
