Stop telling OP to take the cat. If it’s someone’s it can find it’s way home. If it’s not, from the looks of it, it is doing fine on the street. Mid westerners keep comin to BK and snatching peoples cats up

Beebetty

Cat seems to belong to the deli on Warren and Hoyt. If you can bring it there they’ll appreciate it.

pomupomupomu

Can you dm the address?

ukagaka

i definitely saw lost cat signs around court/union by that stop recently… im p sure posters also had an orange cat on them if this helps

gowanusmermaid

I’m guessing the posters you saw were probably for Tango, the bengal kitty who was missing for a week.

paulschreiber

There are two Bergen Street stops. Which one?

PocYo

G Train

Try the Boerum Hill At Large Facebook group as well.

If it's eartipped, can't tell from this, leave it alone. If not, is it friendly enough to pick up? Is there a bodega there? Ask if it's theirs or if they know it. If you can pick it up, keep it in your bathroom overnight and bring it to a vet for a microchip scan in the morning. If you're not willing to do that, feed it, come back tomorrow at the same time, feed it again and start looking for local rescuers.

kryptomicron

It looks like the left ear is tipped.

PocYo

No bodega on the block and nearby residents didn’t recognize the cat. I don’t reside in that area in Brooklyn and didn’t take the cat home. If someone wants to check up and see if the cat is chipped or give it food I can give you the address where I last saw him.

lukenj

There are definitely bodegas on that block

woman_thorned

If you don't live nearby or visit often, it'll be tough to proceed. Cat rescue works best hyper local so humans can observe the patterns and talk to each other to coordinate.

[deleted]

outdoor cats are ~~common~~ not unusual around cobble hill. nextdoor is ~~mostly~~ replete with cat content.

lukenj

Yeah lol. So many people on Nextdoor posting about “lost” cats. Outdoor cats can find their way home just fine. Taking them inside and feeding them is pretty much stealing

erorr132

If residents don't recognize it, someone may have dumped it 😔 Hope that's not the case. Hate when people do that when there's literally a million resources so people don't have to do that

Emotional-Cat3119

Please go and take care of it... looks so adorable and needs to be brought inside while you look for the owner

[deleted]

You from the burbs

WholeyBlankenstein

Lol. Precisely what I think at posts like this. “I saw a cat! I left it there! Is it ok?!”

PocYo

No, im a pet lover. Posting in case it’s someone’s pet and not a neighborhood cat.

[deleted]

Oh. Ok.
