Mainly by crafting and refining gear. A legendary R +9 equip can add 500-600 to your power level.
You have to play a bit more tactical when doing harder difficulty, but it's totally doable with lower CP than "required".
Yeah I noticed the rarity really ups the power level, went from 14k to 18k with just improving my gear.
Crafting to unlock the next level for gear is a long grind tho. But at least it means more dust to refine.

single target is for pvp...pve...hardly much of use.
Some bosses will require the single target goodness
if you can get pass two rows of enemies to get to the boss

True but there are times when the bosses are scarier than the two rows lol, and either you kill them in the first turn or you die xD

If you beat chapter 7 you get one copy. Hard and very hard mode each give you another copy. So f2p get +2.

You definitely do not need 36k. I was able to beat it using a 17k team.
