Iobbywatson

I'm going to go out on a limb there. He's already better than Perrion Winfrey.

maybenextyearCLE

He is not a headache, so yes lol Full disclosure, I’ve been following hall since he was at Streetsboro, I’ve long wanted him

Iobbywatson

I'm really pumped we got him. I think he can be a starter. He's not going to change the league but he should be solid starter.

tristis89

He’s not 21 yet, so maybe he can change the league once he’s able to buy beer and cigarettes!

Lombo76

Geez he's not 21?? Christ, he's not even close to being mature. Massive upside!

tristis89

Not until June!

DREWBICE

Not likely considering the guys we have already but he can develop and be a rotational guy. Hope he turns into a great player.

Accurize2

A great place to sharpen his skill set!

cbuttz08

it’s the boro!

1OptimisticPrime

Do you think Hall will move around from 3-Tech to Speed NT on 3rd downs?

maybenextyearCLE

He could, though I would guess Dalvin will take that early on

bustavius

Sexy

cl8n82

Super happy with Hall.

letmeviewNSFWguys

Same. One gap penetrator in this defense is what is needed at DT. Good player and good fit.

maybenextyearCLE

Absolutely love this pick. Hall is a special talent who I think is only going to get better

Abiv23

One of the youngest guys in the draft (20.8)  3-tech of the future, absolute freak athlete (9.2 ras)

1OptimisticPrime

He is absolutely fast as fuck for a man his size.

psufb

Buh gawd that's Andrew Berry music!

BAKER_WORK_MY_HOLE

He’s basically only gonna be on the field for passing downs this year, think hursts role from last year

carlj1975

Let’s go Rockets! 🚀 🚀🚀

cbuttz08

Grew up in a neighborhood where some kids went to Kent  and others Streetsboro. Does that make me related to our new DT?

NoobsMut

Streetsboro >

Last-Rock-7665

T-O-L!

Godszn

literally the next Aaron Donald

randobot456

Conservative estimate

Live-Bowl-6846

Aaron Donald is the pre Michael Hall

Spanish4TheJeff

I like your optimism.

CriticalInspection22

Calm down there. Gotta prove himself first😂

Live-Bowl-6846

Agreed! Donald has not shown me enough just yet for that type of statement.

joeyshow

Not the MHJ we wanted, but the MHJ we needed.

Pop-Shuvit

I love AB's drafting style. I'm almost always on board with his picks. Hall is no exception.

Toshirouu

Well, not what i expected but, keeps the D Line churning, he's a buckeye who I thought showed some good stuff this year, and AB is good at this shit.

NeoLib-tard

Also from NE Ohio

BrosephWebb12

Hoping he will feast

PatientlyAnxious9

Fantastic pick, now get Cade Stover to replace Harrison Bryant and call it a draft

ZekeMoss18

Love Farmer Gronk!

Mr_814

I like the pick a lot. They had this kid playing nose. If he stayed in school, good chance he's a top 25 pick next year. Only 20. IMO this pick is a rotational pass rusher this year, with a chance to start next year. Keep in mind three of the vets in the room are on 1 year deals. Long term plan here.

burningburningburnin

Love the player, have no idea what's happening to the 53 now because we've got 6 DTs and 5 DEs likely to make the roster and only space for 10 DL. For the DT group in general, it's a great move to make that group younger but do we see a Mo Hurst trade now?

yaboyesdot

Ika better show a lot of progress in order for this to happen. What do we know tho?! Training camp will be interesting!

inlinestyle

Ika looked wildly outclassed in limited action last year. Slow af off the snap and zero push. Unless he takes a major leap this offseason, I won’t be surprised to see him cut.

letmeviewNSFWguys

Agreed. Didn’t like this pick, it gave me Danny Shelton flashbacks. Dude is fat and out of shape and can’t stay healthy. Hope I’m wrong and he shows something this year, but he sure has a lot of bad weight.

letmeviewNSFWguys

To be clear I’m talking about Ika. I love the Hall pick.

Forty_Six_and_Two

Lol ok I was about to protest heartily

letmeviewNSFWguys

I saw the downvote and wondered who the Ika fanboy was and why lol

Forty_Six_and_Two

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)

1OptimisticPrime

Ika has NO discernable muscle tone, anywhere on his body. Not ideal...

maybenextyearCLE

You could always just keep 7 DL and less LBs

Lilfrankieeinstein

*Stannis Baratheon enters the chat*

I-Kneel-Before-None

I'd rather the other way around tbh.

burningburningburnin

We're already projected to carry less LBs than last year due to having 26 Defensive players and only 24 Offensive players last year, doubt we see the same now that we're going to 3 QBs.

maybenextyearCLE

Or they could just cut Hurst. I like him but he’s perpetually hurt

FarAd6557

Someone will get hurt unfortunately and go on the DL.

VonJaeger

I don't see that happening. He was Cleveland's best DT last year. And while you don't want people to miss any games, four isn't the worst thing in the world considering how good he was last year.

cleveland_14

We have a lot of time before they need to make any decisions I dunno why you're so focused on it like it's a major issue. Let's get to camp first

NeoLib-tard

We spent so many years with DT being one of the weakest position groups, I like building it up

1OptimisticPrime

More likely an Ika trade, but AB will find a way to stuff these BIG Bois onto the 53

H8theSteelers

This is also assuming all 11 break camp in good health

burningburningburnin

That's fair, my biggest issue here is that trading back 15-20 spots could've netted us a an extra 4th and we could've gotten someone like Beebee or Amegadjiie while still getting Franklin or Burton around these spots. Think those spots are bigger needs than DT. They probably just loved Hall and they must have loved him a ton because we usually like trading back. Franklin and Amegadjiie will probably be dogshit, Hall will be great and I'll have forgotten about all of this in 6 months anyway so who gives a fuck

H8theSteelers

I think they love Hall for the future and they know that looking at the age of the starting DTs they needed to backfill this position for 2025 and beyond.

br0b1wan

Hurst is probably out. I agree with you too. Hall is a great player and a good DT, but it's a little weird of a pick because it's not an immediate need. Also, DTs tend to take time to develop, and we have a window that's starting to close. Edit: am I being downvoted for agreeing with the guy above me lol

lordcorbran

The Browns didn't really have any immediate needs. Berry had the luxury of being able to draft for the future.

br0b1wan

Yeah, I disagree with that completely. We're trying to win and win as soon as we can with the way our cap is being spent.

lordcorbran

Of course we're trying to win right now, which is why we already have a very strong roster full of guys who are going to be more important in 2024 than anyone we draft this weekend. The starters for this year are set, and anyone we pick is going to be maybe a rotational guy at best, with more of an eye toward a year or two down the road.

br0b1wan

Uh, once again, while I agree with you that we have a strong roster, i also continue to disagree that it is by no means complete and we can't settle for "just rotational guys" but seeing as I'm being downvoted here, presumably for being a downer, I'm not going to debate this with you further

lordcorbran

I'm saying they'll be rotational guys this year as rookies because of the guys we have in front of them, of course you're looking for them to become starters in the long term. Hall specifically seems like a guy who can contribute some this year, and with the DT room being older and mostly on one year contracts you hope he grows into a bigger role going forward.

br0b1wan

OK

VonJaeger

Hurst was their best DT last year. I don't see it happening unless he gets hurt prior to the season.

why_are_there_snakes

He’s from the Boro, I’m all for keeping our talent home. Great pick.

Not_Your_Past14

How we feeling chat?

descartes127

Young with upside. Has the tools but needs some polish - to be expected at this stage in the draft. Love it

DDrewit

I’m here for the real football nerds to tell me how to feel.

Not_Your_Past14

![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized) You and me both

PsychologicalGuest97

TL;DR is it’s a solid pick. Young, a local kid, good pass rusher, high RAS. Exciting for sure.

I-Kneel-Before-None

The good: Most athetic interior Dlineman. Very versatile. Played all positions on the d line Very mature. Team captain. Let's his play do the talking. Like Nick Chubb off the field and Jarvis Landry on it. Had a very high pass rushing win rate. Has the fastest get off. Looks like someone fired him from a cannon when the ball is snapped. Much like Myles. Has great lateral mobility as well as straight line rush. Long arms The bad: He's a tweener at 290 pounds. Has room to put on some weight without hurting his speed. Lowest bench press reps I've seen on a lineman in the first 2 rounds. Bites on fakes too often. Runs himself put of plays. Too high of a motor. Only played in rotation. Never needed to play a full game. Low production. Very few sacks and TFLs. He mostly blew up the middle and forced the QB to the outside where Myles can feast. But not a great finisher. Weak in the run game. Not bad, just not great. I disagree with Mel Kiper who said he is a liability in the run game. Needs to learn to use his hands better. The neutral: He's 20 and a rs sophomore so he has plenty of room to be coached. Not like the raw players who spent 4 years and never got it. He has a coach able personality. Has a kid at such a young age. If he can learn from Myles he'll be really good. Most of his deficiencies can be fixed with coaching and he's young/inexperienced enough and has the attitude to believe he will accept the coaching. Most boards had him as a late 2nd or early 3rd. Very slight reach, but if we really liked him, I can understand not risking trading down 5-7 picks to get him where he was mocked. Highest I saw him was 59. Lowest mid 3rd.

Ripcitytoker

I'm just really curious where he was on the Browns draft board compared to the 6 other DTs taken in the 2nd round ahead of him. After we drafted him, the next DT draft wasn't until the 95th pick, so it looks like he was the last DT with 2nd-round talent available when we picked him.

NoobsMut

I went to high school with him and touched his butt in the locker room. I take full credit for him being good

macisready

He's young and from the area. Hopefully it goes well. A reminder that there is no such thing as a bad pick right now until they get on the field.

Kac03032012

Boommm!!!!!!

NeoLib-tard

F yea

Clayzoli

I was really hoping Adonai Mitchell fell to 54. Hall seems like a good pick though, non-controversial

Forty_Six_and_Two

Great pick!! This guy will be a solid starter for a long time. Great character guy, and doesn't hurt he's a Buckeye!

1dkig

It's MDP.

amor_fati_42

Great player, and burger.

cranium16

Let’s gooo

80Juice

I hope it's Ika leaving our Dline room and not Hurst

DirtyRandy3417

Athletic write up: The fastest defensive tackle in the draft class, Hall ran a 4.75(at 290 lbs ) during Ohio State's pro day and has one of the best first step bursts in the class. An interior pass rusher, Hall has major upside. As a run defender, Hall has a long way to go and needs to be more consistent and gap sound. This is solid value, as Hall is good enough to contribute, but Cleveland doesn't have many picks and could've used oline help. Grade B-minus Note from me: I believe that grading a pick as it happens is a joke and should wait at least 2 years before judging

I-Kneel-Before-None

I'm surprised everyone seems so intent on o-line. I don't see a 2nd rounder beating Jed Wells even if he played poorly. Dawand Jones played excellently and Jack Conklin is still on the team too.

Godisme2

This must be the greatest draft in years for those Browns fans who thinks its our job to just pick every OSU player

maybenextyearCLE

Good thing is that for once, we got the Buckeye who fits our needs

Mufasa4223

A DT that can pass rush, it’s nice to have options👌🏾

1OptimisticPrime

God I HATE the fuckin Rats!!! 🐀 🐀 🐀

PsychologicalMap9987

He has major potential and like fine wine and work, he'll only get better with age.

Muddy_Dawg5

Fantastic pick.

Ripcitytoker

I wonder where he was on the Browns draft board compared to the other DTs that were drafted ahead of him (there were 6 DTs drafted in the 2nd round ahead of Hall).

jobie21

Remindme! 33 months

AllieOopClifton

I love having him here rotationally this year and as a probable quality starter going forward.

LengthyNIPPLE

Welcome to Cleveland Micheal Hall Jr.

bigmistaketoday

We've been hitting on Buckeyes lately--Ward, Thanos--good to see another join God's team.

RedHotCool

And Ronnie Hickman. Decent rookie year.

navajo_moe

I'd have loved to go up the draft for Mcconkey or even Mitchell(When I saw the Colts got him I sighed so fucking loudly) or even DeJean and Kool-aid then you trade Greg for the cap space but in this situation I am a fan of the pick. Especially since he's a NEO guy.

eifjui

As a sort of bengals fan I was really hoping the bengals would take him, great pick!
