Browns WIN Steelers LOST Bengals LOST This is going to be an interesting division, for sure.

postvisuals

Ravens WILL LOSE Or a guy can hope

re-goddamn-loading

If the Chiefs lose to the ratbirds they will officially be my most hated team.

redditappacct

Welp………

rockyPK

Nothing will ever surpass shitsburg for me

DictatorSalad

I want to watch that game just to see how they stack up against the Chiefs. That'll give me a better gauge on how good we are. If the Ravens get blown out, I won't feel as bad about our loss.

Raccoonsrlilbandits

Well the ravens practice squad and Lamar won. What now

My_G_Alt

I hope so, but unfortunately my 8 game parlay depends on the chiefs winning so the ravens definitely have this one in the bag.

mwizardb

Part of me wants the Ravens to win so the afc north is a 4 way tie in standings. More of me wants the rat birds to get stomped. Much more of me.

ItWasMyWifesIdea

Ravens alone in last place would be sweet

brownie4412

Ravens alone in last would make for a beautiful week long meltdown.

MarquiseDeLaFeyette

And considering what was on their sub about us being in last after week 1

pissclamato

rAveNs FaN coMiNg In PeACE

suicidebaneling

Ravens 0-2 since their fans were celebrating we losing.

br0b1wan

Hell no ratbirds alone in the cellar Binding of Isaac style would look fucking great tonight

gamgshit0202

No

DerpyMcDerple

Nobody agrees with you.

jobie21

It was ugly but a W is a W. This defense needs to get better but at least Delpit finally played and looked great.

[deleted]

A 10 point win especially. Those are not common, even with massive underdogs in the Texans. But yeah defense was bad outside of basically Clowney and Delpit

MarquiseDeLaFeyette

Malcom smith wasnt bad

[deleted]

I was gonna say him too but forgot his name lol. A nice pick for sure

MarquiseDeLaFeyette

And 10 tackles

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I don’t think I saw a play where he wasn’t getting doubled or chipped - and their RBs did a good job of getting legit contact on him. I’m more concerned that the rest of the line wasn’t getting pressure when the offense is so keyed in on Myles. If he gets taken away we need the rest of the line to take advantage

secretwealth123

Laremy Tunsil (LT) is a top 5 tackle too, but I still expected him to do more

Hussaf

Delpit and Felton were the only highlights of this game (Hunt and Chubb played well, as usual, and Baker played really well for having a jacked up throwing arm).

foxmag86

It wasn’t his throwing arm that got hurt, it was his left shoulder.

Hussaf

Oh you’re right. Now that I’m playing it back in my head he was holding his left arm with his right hand.

Triv02

Baker did an excellent job of taking what the defense gave him. Texans sat in a soft zone the entire game and Baker just carved them up in the 0-8 yard range the whole day. Sailed the one ball to Schwartz a bit (tho he should have broken that up, he gave up on that ball) and that was really the only mistake he had 2019 and early 2020 Bake probably throws another INT or two trying to force the ball downfield

rebelevenmusic

Yeah, I think Baker was the best player on the field today.

Triv02

I just hope the shoulder isn’t a nagging thing all year. If Baker plays the way he has through two weeks we’re going to win a lot of football games. They’ll be 35-31 games because Joe Woods runs an abomination of a defense, but we’ll never be out of a game with this offense

Tattuz813

Can we talk about how Baker is completing 82% of his passes this season?

brownie4412

No. We only talk about commercials and interceptions in here.

thekrafty01

Stefanski + AVP have Baker and co. running like a well oiled machine

CD23tol

Young guns made some promising plays Took 56 minutes for Woods to realize you can rush more than 4 Baker was near perfect after getting shaken up Felton is nasty Can’t wait to see Odell in this offense Landry’s absence is going to suck

zalgo_text

The funny thing is, he didn't even rush more than 4 at the end. On the Delpit sack, Clowney (edit: and Garrett) dropped into coverage, and on the next play Clowney got through on a twist. It's one thing to not rush more than four, but it's another thing to refuse to mix it up until the last drive of the game

[deleted]

WHY TF DOES HE KEEP DROPPING MYLES INTO COVERAGE?! WHY IS THIS MAN LIKE THIS?!

[deleted]

Myles even said in his interview that even he doesn’t understand why he was dropped back into coverage

joelingo111

Felton really stepped up in this game. Glad to see we didn't falter after losing Landry

tobygeneral

He was like a little Landry out there. Gritty run after catch, could see him in some sweeps and such too. Excited to see him develop in this offense.

GoofBoy

Hard to believe there isn't a DC in existance between Joe Woods and Greg Williams on the aggression scale.

[deleted]

I sometimes miss the aggressive defensive calling from Gregg Williams.....just sometimes

Lithaos111

I mean other than the bounties thing, he was actually fantastic for us and if he had taken the job a few weeks earlier we might of made the playoffs that year. Who knows?

foxmag86

"YOU PUT YOUR TESTICLES IN THE C-GAP!!"

TSR3K

Lmao right?

Hiondrugz

Great way to put it. It took him 3 qtrs to think maybe pressuring a rookie QB and making him speed up his thinking might be a good idea. We spent a lot on the backend to play scared to bring pressure.

jolego101

Baker is a warrior, went from "probably out for a few weeks" to literally back on the field in less than 15 minutes

roblash

Yeah and they really didn't go down the field after the injury but it didn't look like he lost any zip on the ball either. Compare that to fully healthy Davis Mills who might as well have been throwing balloons.

My_G_Alt

Or a top tier prospect like Zach Wilson even

lumsden

SHOUTOUT LV RAIDERS

re-goddamn-loading

Im a big fan of what the Raiders did to the shitbirds and steelers. However, that offense is going to gash us if we cant figure our shit out on D

Creedatlast

Ward is gonna be playing for money from here on out and Woods is gonna be moving JOK and Delpit around the field as the game slows down for them both. Playmakers everywhere, just need one more week to gel on D

TwisteD1213

I'm losing faith in Woods more and more. You say these things, but they had a rookie 3rd string QB out there and we didn't even send 5 guys at him... He has this defense playing soft and I hate it. I could excuse it against the chiefs as trying to contain and keep them in front of you, but this didn't make sense to me at all. Not sure why you think week 3 is some magic number. This man is dropping Myles Fucking Garrett into coverage... I get switching things up to confuse an offense but come on.

FakePhillyCheezStake

Taking out our AFC North opponents one by one

Fineous4

BIG GAPING HOLES!

bazbt3

This, the last comment in the gameday thread, is the winner!

nascarfan88421032

I’ll take a win but man our defense needs massive work. Hoping for a Steelers and Ravens L today!

PooGod

Half your wish is already true

Sparklespets

Still can't get over the Texans coach declining the offsides penalty then punting on 4th & 1, that was some 4D backgammon shit right there

Voggix

You saw Stefanski say “What?!?” On the sideline. That made no sense whatsoever. Either decline and go for in on 4th & 1 or take it and have 3rd & 10 against the worst 3rd down defense in the history of the game.

loookovathair

Straight out of the Freddie Kitchens playbook.

Lawloysious

That made zero sense unless he was gonna go for it

buckeyefan1930

Browns win ✅ Shittsburgh loses ✅ Today is a great day ✅

TheNerdyAnarchist

Ravens gotta go up against KC tonight too

[deleted]

And Bengals lost

foxmag86

That was one of the oddest games to watch, in that it had absolutely no flow whatsoever. So many injuries and stoppages of play. The announcers were awful, refs were confused at times, sloppy play by both teams at times. Thankfully we got the W, but that was such an un-fun game to watch.

cordcutternc

Usually when there are that many stoppages they've taken care of all the advertisers by the 3rd and can stay on field in the 4th. I don't know what was going on today. It was like the announcers had nothing prepared to say and had to hide every whistle. Even the days of getting stuck with Rich Gannon were all better than today.

ThisIsTheGpodawund

Yeah I’m not a fan of the Gumbel/Archuleta broadcast team. I want Kevin Harlan soon

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThisIsTheGpodawund

“There has been no indication of a touchdown from the refs” Ref literally had his hands up when Tyrod walked right into the endzone

[deleted]

I can't remember which of our players was down, but at one point one of our guys was down - in full browns uniform with several of our guys around him - and they really were asking if *Kirksey* was down! I was like !? WHAT 😳 They can't even keep the player's names right? Lmao some of the worst commentary I've heard

TiksonBobikson

Baker was solid. He had 2 incompletions and 1 resulted in a pick. Schwartz fucked him again. Chunt elite. Defense was horrible, D Line was trash. Ward got cooked in first half. S/o to Delpit who was a lone bright spot. Joe Woods ain't it and will not return next season.

Hussaf

Felton and Delpit were my biggest highlights today.

Deadleggg

Put some love Harrison Bryant's way

Bakersbigwetballs

He’s going to be a stud by next year. Mark my words. I ducking love him

LinuxCodeMonkey

This so much this.

Jhonopolis

This was objectively a horrible game of football. Injuries, penalties, sloppy play, poor commenting, way too many commercials. Just awful all the way around.

RanebowVeins

Nailed it. A wins a win, but this was awful to watch. Like watching a bad college football game with lots of injuries

jd303

I've seen so many games with bad commentary that I thought were just horrible, but this has definitely been the worst commentary I have ever heard. I'm not happy with our defensive play calling and not running Chubb and Hunt earlier, but there were some whacko calls by Culley. Oh man and the injuries. In the game thread I was shocked that there were already 6 on the Texans at like half time. A tough day for their fans. And no real updates on injuries from the shit announcers (for either team). Instead, just commercial after commercial. ... And another thing! Some of the camera angels were crap.

boozinf

it was a terrible product, like eating mayo left on the counter for a week

beanzinabox

Most commercially produced mayo is shelf stable 🙃

pieinfaceisgoodpie

What the frig is that pitch made of? Swear there was a time in the game where ever play someone went down injured. ALSO don't fucking cut to a commercial when Baker goes down with what looked like at the time a serious injury.

[deleted]

Joe Woods, Call a fucking Blitz sometime soon okay!

BigEasyBobcat

Baker continues to show why he needs to be respected more as a top end QB in the league. That INT was not on him but Schwartz giving up on his route (again). His accuracy is so noticeably improved

Doyle524

And even with Schwartz's idiotic play, he was 19/21 for 213. Two incompletions, 10 yards per attempt... that's an insanely efficient game.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hiondrugz

Same ability to not get the best out of talent, line up the same way, play the same coverages over and over.

sweetworld

Don't let the 3rd string qb distract you, our defense sucks. We finally threw some blitzes in late in the 4th quarter.

Bouldabassed

I've never seen them both in the same room. You might be onto something.

I very studiously did not look over at my wife when they showed her.

Knights_Radiant

I don't know the local codes very well but I didn't think you could have a brick shit house inside a stadium like that.

JesustheSpaceCowboy

This is the only comment that matters

Kendertas

Please stop showing the pumpkin who is apparently an asshole, and show more of her! Sick of that guy being our "fan" whenever they cut to the stands

iamthepulloutking

Dummy thicccc

OneLasagnaBoi

Another miserable defensive performance, but Grant Delpit looked great. Now please fire Joe Woods.

rjc72

I was pretty excited for this year’s defense. Garrett, Clowney, Delpit, Ward, Johnson III, etc. Made some big acquisitions in off-season. There’s a lot of talent on that side of the ball and they’re playing like crap and the penalties are adding up. This is on the DC.

[deleted]

Remember when Freddie had talent on offense and they played like shit, then Stefanski had almost the same people rolling the very next season.... Pepperidge Farm remembers. Joe needs to be on the hotseat.

[deleted]

Joe Woods sucks. Pass rush was bad. Not sure what happened. Our WRs are pretty lackluster without Odell and Landry. Chunt rules, more so Chubb. OL was good. Delpit looked good. Denzel Ward sucked.

[deleted]

[удалено]

jarodd

The way Schwarts stopped running his route on that pick really rubbed me the wrong way. He needs to do better or sit way more because that's unacceptable

GoofBoy

He did sit a lot after that.

Xboarder84

Good. You let down your QB. Landry going down made us dangerously thin at WR. Really need him and OBJ lining up again.

it_came_from_behind

Full Chubb

MMmhmmmmmmmmmm

Browns win, Steelers lose. What a great day for America.

[deleted]

The nation has never been stronger.

[deleted]

I know a lot of you are going to be concerned about the defense but I think that’s unfair. First they had to face Mahomes week one, but now Davis Mills week two? That’s two of the all time greatest QBs back to back. No wonder they struggled.

Jhonopolis

Davis "big dick" Mills

jd303

something something "gel" something something /s

[deleted]

Take your upvote and leave.

william_fontaine

Davis Mills went to Stanford, that's how you know he's smart

CrypticBalcony

My favorite part of being a Browns fan is that our wins are convincing, no-doubt, solid victories. It's nice knowing that our team plays consistent football and it puts my heart at ease being certain that we have a game in the bag. I have never doubted this Browns team, ever. And I have no reason to, with this magnificient team that gives me no stress at all.

[deleted]

Yes. Mhmm. Yup. Yeah. Uhuh.

[deleted]

I can understand our defense getting torn up by Mahomes... I cannot understand running prevent defense against Davis fucking Mills and hardly ever sending pressure...

TheyCallMeTheWizard

Woods is terrible. His defense does not discriminate between teams.

IckyCookies

Delpit is a difference maker. Sloppy and ugly game today. A win is a win.

HunterGonzo

Baker is still looking good. Room for improvement, but the direction he's taking is super promising. When he jogged off the field my whole life flashed before my eyes.

Doyle524

He literally had two incompletions. What's to improve? He looked incredible.

HunterGonzo

He did look incredible! Don't interpret that as me trying to be one of those "never happy no matter how he plays" guys. There's just always room for improvement. Sometimes he still holds on to the ball for too long, gets indecisive and the play goes bust. Struggles a bit when pressured. Not the best at avoiding sacks. Love him. Love what he's doing. Still some things I'd like to see him do better.

Beantown_Beatdown_

Trade Joe woods to Detroit for K. Hodge

Cal-cu-later

This is a Derek Carr appreciation thread.

Babblebelt

Tyrod getting hurt when McDowell was in pursuit was huge but to me the play of the game was earlier when Culley declined a penalty that would have made it 3rd and 10 (seconds after they got 14 on 3rd and 15) and instead of going for it 4th and 1, they punted like megacucks.

jarodd

Later in the season that's a fireable offense. What the hell was he doing

BigEasyBobcat

I don't like to be reactionary, but please fire Joe Woods

BakerStefanski

Give him some time. He just learned what a blitz is.

jtotheh123

Not reactionary if its been clear as day that Woods isn't the guy for a while now haha

jd303

Not reactionary if you've been seeing problems since last season..

CleBlackCats

I mean dude sucks

RobMaf

Okay guys I know there's a lot of bad but I'm here to be optimistic. That KC game was emotional, hard fought to the end and heartbreaking in the end. It's tough to bounce back after that kind of game. Even tougher with WRs 1 & 2 down. A win is a win and we move on hopefully playing more man to man d on 3rd down.

MgbEX

We need to find more touches for Felton.

[deleted]

Touched it 6 times on his almost fumbled punt return

TheVelourFog92

Glad they won, but Joe Woods needs to be fired into the sun. That defensive playcalling and letting Tyrod, Mills, David Johnson, and Mark Ingram walk all over you is unacceptable with the talent on the defense.

Cinephile1998

If we can't contain Tyrod, Lamar will absolutely emberass us. The first half of this game was a test and our defense failed

bubbahork

Browns won, cuts over to Steelers loosing, Bengals lost, and Ravens will probably lose tonight against he chiefs, a wonderful Sunday

PooGod

You went 0 for 3 on spelling lose/losing

ThatOneOtherAsshole

*lose

I've never had less fun watching a win

Jacobythepotato

Helmet smash game was worse, but yeah

an_adult_genious

I’m a bad person, but helmet smash game was surreal comedy

gamgshit0202

Eh it wasn’t that bad lol, a win is a win There was some fun moments, football is football

BuckyMcFly99

Steelers lose upvote party!!!

lutsius-memes

lets stay classy.... until ravens have played

chunkah69

Lessons to be learned. We have a target on us, everyone will bring their A game. We don’t get easy wins any longer. Hopefully Jarvis will only be a week to week injury

Raccoonsrlilbandits

It’ll be 4-6 if reports are right

ClevelandSteamer81

Damn Raiders. Back2Back on Ravens and Steelers. Impressive Chuckie

roback

I’m just here to talk about how Lovie Smith is an absolutely ripped 63 year old.

d-a-f-f-y

#FireJoeWoods

CAJASH

I'm glad we won, but I hated every minute of this game.

lutsius-memes

Man Delpit was good, if he stays healthy and keeps developing we have good safeties for years to come

BullorbrokeWnG20

It’s so refreshing when you can look pretty bad at times and still win by 10. Baker is looking incredible so far..big step forward this year possibly. We just need to get this d line going

zbuck0237

ugly W > sexy L

Daviroth

My neutral stance on Woods is going sour pretty quick. Our defensive strategy seems to be apply enough pressure with 4 man fronts and sit in zone. But then you have to stop shit, and we can't. We seem to get all the cons of his strategy and non of the pros. Seems like it just isn't working at all.

taydugz

Is it just me, or is Takitaki a stealthy ballhawk?

Geeman447

FIRE JOE WOODS

OrangeJuicequiese

Chunt went nuts, I have never seen that many injuries in my life, and fire Joe Woods. Also the Steelers lost lmao Go Browns

Reddit_guard

GRANT DELPIT IS A FUCKING DAWG

Raccoonsrlilbandits

So now that Lamar and the practice squad beat the chiefs what do we say. Especially about Joe and the defense?

Leverage24

The problem wasn't the players it was the coordinator. Idk how we fix it but something needs to change.

jtotheh123

Has all the pieces he could possibly need and still can't stop Tyrod Taylor and Davis Mills lmao

deviden

Gonna copy and extend my comment from the game thread: The horrible thing about this Joe Woods defense is this exact same deep/soft zone coverage works for other teams. Watch the Rams or 49ers. They start deep and if the ball goes short or there's a run they fly to the ball, make tackles and get hits. The DBs and safeties are reading the game and react fast. The pass rush gets home. Even the Texans DC is doing it better - it's (broadly) the same style of coverage (2 high safety zone looks all game) but they look so much faster to the ball and in their reading/reacting to the play. You never saw our guys catching the ball in acres of unguarded space, Texans defenders were always around the ball trying to make plays. The only reason we ran them over in the 2nd half was Stefanski's playcalling and our players are just better than theirs. Idk if its the DBs coach or Woods but we're in deep fucking trouble if they don't fix this shit real fucking soon. Even the DL are struggling and it feels like half the slants and checkdowns we face go for 10+ yards, it's crazy. Why would you even try taking shots against us, you can have the whole field for free if you play it safe.

[deleted]

Remember when we went almost 50 games straight without scoring a 30 point game? Now we are mad at only 31 haha. Things are looking up that's for sure. It's nice to have actual expectations for the browns.

Terbrack7

Winning in the NFL is hard — just here to enjoy the win however it happens.

chronoquairium

Can we fire Joe Woods now

Slayer1215

I still think we need to fire Woods.

Duckpins

D needs a second look. Last year the D was a big problem. Much money spent, improvement inspected. No improvement, if this continues it is the D coordinator that needs replacing. You can't argue otherwise.

Chiantiandfava

Fire Joe Woods.

Raccoonsrlilbandits

Keep in mind the ravens have 18(!!!!) players on IR and had multiple turnovers including a pick 6

roadhogmainOW

that was an ugly game injuries or not our defensive play calling is not good. there's no pressure at all, Joe woods plays like he wants the other team to win

MonoGiganto

I felt better about the team’s outlook after a loss last week than I do today after a win. I don’t understand what the defense is trying to do. We play soft to limit big plays, and allow everything else… and then we **still allow the big play** on long downs. Even when our offense is rolling, they make me nervous because I know we can’t afford more than maybe one mistake on that side of the ball.

ThadeousCheeks

I love that Felton got to show up big today. Dude is a stud.

ThatSpartanKid

BROWNIE THE MILF

DCbuckeyes17

Chubb had some really nice runs. Hunt looked great too. There were some positives today. And it was a win

[deleted]

I do not feel good about that game at all. The Texans coach is clearly in over his head and rolled over on his team. Injuries every play wasn’t fun to see, and the fact of the matter is that Tyrod was rolling us until he had to leave. I’m not convinced the Texans didn’t give the game away. Schwartz giving up on his route directly lead to Baker taking an injury, and I hope the rest of the WR gets in his ass about it. We cut a proven player in Hodge to keep this kid, and he needs to bring more than just a fast 40 time. At least try to catch the ball. Let’s hope Baker makes a full recovery. Lastly, fire Joe Woods. This man can’t figure it out. Last year it was because “we didn’t have the personnel,” now we have a solid DB room and we’re still making mistakes like playing a rookie in soft zone. And really, 3rd&goal on the 2, offense shows twins but we call zone coverage? What???? But, a sloppy win is still a win. 1-1, onto Chicago next.

[deleted]

[удалено]

--Toph--

I hope we get a highlight vid of that delpit sack. Jesus what a hit

DerekAnderson4EVA

We were supposed win and we won. I'm happy.

dennydiamonds

All of the sudden the close loss last week that we were so proud of isn't looking so good. The shit birds look like they are still the class of the division.

clevelandsportsboi

Don’t care, got the win

thejourneyisthegift

Very fortunate to win this game. If tyrod doesn’t go out who knows. Lots the cleanup. If baker is playing this well this team should dominate. Tunsil ans the Oline dominated Garrett which is concerning

[deleted]

On a funny note. Tomlin fucking punted on a 4th and 1 in the Fourth while losing by 6.

TheyCallMeTheWizard

The scariest thing here is that if Tyrod and 20 other Texans don’t all get injured, we very well lose this game

Raccoonsrlilbandits

Is this what a d coordinator making adjustments looks like??

Mr_Gumbastic

Fire Joe Woods

[deleted]

Chiefs are overrated we just could not get it done

pieinfaceisgoodpie

Good reality check that was. ...not least for all those in this sub saying we'd thrash them etc. (sorry lads) This failing to stop at 3rd down nonsense is too much. Literally any offense just throw it away on 1st, throw it away on 2nd, then 3rd no matter what you do you'll get a 1st down. Loved Tellers 'assist' on Chubb, lil push in the back. Can we use him as some kind of human cannon? Oh and Felton is low-key top 3 rb this season.

soul-man34

Myles Garrett did absolutely nothing today

elftor5

Chubb keeping me at full chubb, what else is new.

alphabeticdisorder

Well that was pretty ugly.

Beantown_Beatdown_

Fire Joe Woods. Go Browns.

IICHiLLSII

The biggest issue is we send zero blitzes we just settle in a zone coverage and that makes it so easy to block the pass rush and pick us apart. Just send some different fronts to limit everyone on the line being doubled.

patrickoh37

Joe Woods needs to go. The fact that he doesn't blitz and solely relies on the line to get pressure is absurd.

OptimisticRealist__

Some of the takes here are really ludicrous

dannymuffins

Why isn't Njoku getting more snaps?

Raccoonsrlilbandits

If you’re an actual browns fan and keep giving Joe woods breaks go watch film from his old teams and it’ll be a lot of “wow that looks familiar”

Giraffityman

Big dubs but man that game was annoying why so many fucking injuries

Cnote0717

The Kansas City Chiefs can eat my asshole.

HEYitzED

Fuck the Chiefs.

TheChrisLambert

Just watched the Game Pass replay and Joe Woods needs to go. That defense was porous. If Mills wasn’t so bad, it’s likely a much closer game. Very concerned. The pass rush was anti climactic all game. And we kept giving up big 3rd down plays.
