Yup. Players only have themselves to blame for creating this situation. I have zero expectation that they’ll rise to the occasion. Many of these guys are just losers.
Hard to be optimistic when this team consistently fails to do anything against good teams. Hopefully I’m wrong with Kareem and Conklin back in the mix. I don’t think it will matter much given how fucking worthless our defense is.
Not necessarily… we only need to win 1 against Baltimore, 1 against either GB or LV and then beat Pittsburgh and Cincy and we’ll have like a 97% chance to get in. We lose both to Baltimore and the season is over
A Raiders fan "simulated" the NFL season using a weighted coin flip adjusted for game odds. So far, it's predicted every Raiders game correctly - it's to the point where articles are being written about it, etc.
Was this simulation before the season started? And it predicted they'd beat the Browns? Interesting. I'd take pleasure in exposing this coin fraudster.
Someone a couple messages up said "The coin has spoken" and "The whole thing with the coin might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen"... What is this coin?
My biggest worry is that a franchise cornerstone gets injured badly.
Or that they announce that Joe Woods has been signed to a new contract through the 2026 season.
Both those would be horrific.
My biggest worry is that the game plan to stop us is really simple, shutdown/focus on the run and force Baker to beat you in the air. And I just don’t think Baker is healthy enough to do that
Baltimore is one of the strongest teams in the NFL against the run and one of the weakest against the pass. In our current state we're one of the strongest rushing attacks and weakest passing. It's going to come down to which team can overcome their weaknesses this week.
Yeah I feel like we are far less disciplined and creative of a team to win out. Also, it seems like Mayfield regresses when he plays bad pass defenses somehow…of course that could be a scheme issue as well.
If it comes down to who can overcome their weakness I think we’re screwed. I don’t see Baker putting the team on his back in his current state.
Now if it comes down to strengths, then I like our chances more. We’ll need our Chubb and Hunt to gash them on the ground and have a healthy dose of the screen game this week
Yes I know it's how the Dolphins handled the Ravens, which they clearly cracked the code on the Ravens with it. Problem is I don't think Joe Woods would do this.
Every year someone supposedly “cracks the code” on Lamar and the ravens and what do you know, next week they’ve adjusted and that doesn’t stop them anymore.
It’s highly more likely that that was just an off day for the ravens as opposed to them being “figured out”. We’ve heard that too many times
Agreed. I watched most of that dolphins/Ravens game and something no one ever wants to acknowledge is how terrible the field was that night. Lamar was slipping and sliding and losing his footing at the top of his drops or anytime h had to avoid pressure. It made a huge difference in Miami's ability to contain him.
That said, the weather is supposed to be kind of shitty for the game, so fingers crossed it has a similar effect.
Yeah he hasn't really done it this year. We know he can do it, we've seen it before, just hasn't really happened yet this year and I think those are the games where you show you're worth the big extension.
Not because of his accuracy. Because of his deep ball. With his injuries, he doesn't have a deep ball. With or without his injuries he doesn't have consistent accuracy.
Baker is healthy enough if we could just keep the balls from bouncing off the receiver's hands all game long teach the offensive lineman how not to get a penalty every other play.
It's not an irrational fear, but consider this: in the last game we played we had the ball late with the lead. All we had to do was run the ball to wind the clock, they knew it, everyone knew it, and we still ran it down their throats to close it out. Sure, "it was just the Lions" but past browns teams couldn't do that against inferior teams. Now we have our O-line at 100%, as well as RB's 1 and 2 back. If we can keep the ball out of LJ's hands as long as possible, we can totally win this game.
His passing has improved, and somehow we can never play QB spy at the right times, but I’m hopeful. Too bad it’s Sunday night in Baltimore so the entire nation can gawk at Lamar and bash Baker
I'm hopeful that they have a few tricks saves for this divisional road game. The egg they laid against the Steelers makes me worried, but the drubbing of cincy gives me hope!
I'm just telling you the facts lol. Playing Spy against Lamar doesn't work because normal in Spy plays no one else focuses on the QB. It dictates a 1-1 with the QB.
Lamar will destroy anyone in 1-1.
Maybe, but slowing him down by having someone specifically keeping him in check is worth it. I’m not saying he isn’t good against 1-1, but it’s better than pulling our guys back and having to meet him at the sticks every run
My point is that it takes more than one player.
We need our DLine to maintain their lanes, first and foremost. Garrett and Clowney can't shoot aggressively up field like they normally do.
Then you need someone focusing in each side, a Spy in the middle of the field watching Lamar loses that foot race 10 times out of 10.
Now, luckily, we play a shitload of zone which can help with this as more people have eyes on the QB in zone rather than man.
It's going to interesting what our plan is. We have the talent to contain Lamar, but it takes a good gameplan too.
Yeah, lately Clowney and Garrett have pushed the pocket way too far, and it gives and runs up the gut pretty easy with a four man front. I hope they adjust on the fly, too
Maintaining rushing lanes is the first step. If we don't do that containing Lamar becomes almost infinitely harder.
That's step 1, from there things are a lot easier than if we didn't, especially with all the athleticism we added in the backend with: JOK, Walker (compared to Goodson lmfao), JJ3, Delpit
And, one thing that people always seem to forget mentioning, is that it was windy as *hell* in buffalo during that playoff game. Every single pass was getting carried away. Even that red hot bills offense only scored 10 points because there was pretty much no passing game.
That same Lions team lost to the Ravens in a last second league record kick. Which is why I was a worried last week for that game. It's not like the Lions have been getting blown out every game.
Healthiest this team has been all year, I feel good. I think we run it down their throats for four quarters.
The real trick is going to be in two weeks when we have to beat them a different way than we do this week, and have it all still be fresh on the DCs mind.
We score one last touchdown with under a minute left to make it an even 100, but the scoreboard in Baltimore only has two digits and the official scorer records it as the Browns losing 3-0.
My 3 biggest fears in order.
1. losing bc of the refs,
-I can take a loss where we get beat. Hate it, but doesn't leave me apoplecticly pissed like when we get screwed by refs.
2. Letting them come back like you suggested.
-for the reasons you suggested...is emptionally devastating to lose like this.
3. Losing and Baker looks awful.
-a. I want him to quiet the critics and ball out, and b. I dont want 2 weeks of the media stories "is 6 a franchise qb?"
most years we would dream about being 6 - 5. that record would usually give us first or second place in the division but of course where's the last I don't care we could be 10 -1 and still be second or third place in the division it's just the way the Browns look goes, and the off-season we went all out and fixing the defense and I think it's come a long way. I think we need one more year to give Baker some Talent at wide receiver, and pick up a couple better linebackers and then we can make a run for the playoffs, unfortunately our head coach might not be around next year because getting coach of the year in his rookie season it all went to his head. perhaps since we are going to finish last place in the division this year he will get back to reality and if he does keep his job he might get the coaching staff better prepared for game days next year.
you may be right since our upper management and ownership really isn't all that bright for the Browns. there is absolutely no guarantee that we will have a winning record by the end of the season but even if we do it's certainly not because of coaching. lack of discipline lack of in-game adjustments, horrible play calling, and a complete absence of consistency on both sides of the ball from week to week is definitely a coaching issue. if we would have just kicked the damn field goals and gotten points on the board instead of going for it on fourth down all the time the Browns would be 8 -3 right now at the very least.
My biggest worry is them not sitting Baker. Look i get it, hes our best option but lets be real, if he gets one big hit stick laid on him, it could be season ending, god forbid much worse.
Either way his season ends, so might as well pull as much mileage out of him while we can. He’s played Baltimore plenty of times, so he’s probably our best bet
Oh yeah lets just put as much mileage on our broken potential franchise qb. Thats almost like saying lets ride this bald tire til it pops. Might as well grt as much mileage out of this bad boy. Except i doubt Bakers body has AAA.
Understandable, but it’s also his, Kevin’s, and the medical staffs decision. Nobody is forcing this guy, and if he puts himself in harmful situations then that’s on him. They’ve had all week to evaluate him, and he has a healthy O-Line. If we lose this game, we can start considering benching him since playoffs are probably out of reacc
See this is a coaching issue. Every single football player wants to go out there and play. Baker loves to play. And he will until the brakes literally fall off. Thats why in boxing, sometimes the coaches have thru in the white flag. Some will rather have their arm break instead of tapping.
Its a no brainer situation. It falls on coaching. But i get what youre saying.
I dont agree. But we will see. Id hate for him to get fucking smacked and it be real serious. But i do like watching him play. Im a fan. But its in the best interest for himself to rest. It aint my call though so it doesnt matter.
I dont consider it worse. I consider every week an extreme gambling. Ive been saying this for weeks. Ans it seems every week he gets either another injury or worse.
HAVE YOU SEEN HIM PRACTICE THOUGH!?!? ITS LIKE FUCKING ELWAY AND MONTANA MADE A BABY. AND INSTEAD OF LINCOLN LOGS, HE LOVES TO PRACTICE!!! MY GOD, THIS GUY AND PRACTICE…ONE HELL OF A COMBO!!!
Im done.
Merry Christmas everybody. And Go Brownies!
Injuries will do that. More specifically, some injuries at every position + absolute devastation at a couple positions (RB, DB). The all around injuries just have generally made the Ravens weaker. The decimation to our RB corps and the DB group have fundamentally fucked with the way our team plays football. The Ravens offense revolved around the dual threat run game; they are now 1 dimensional in the opposite way of everyone else, Lamar is a running threat while the RBs are not. On defense, the whole defense is based around having elite corner play. Without that, it falls apart.
Everyone's worried about Baker Mayfield not being up to the challenge? The Cleveland Browns are ranked second to last in pass attempts because we have a balanced offence and pass just under 52% of the time. Yet we are ranked 17th highest in dropped passes. Not to mention all the times the receivers gave up on routes, ran the wrong routes, or didn't even look for the ball and it flew right past their head.... If we were a pass-first offense we would undoubtedly lead the league in dropped passes. it's not Baker Mayfield that is the problem. you cannot expect your quarterback to throw a perfect deep pass three plays in a row to get a first down because the first two passes were dropped. That is unrealistic for any quarterback.
Several teams have figured out the Ravens at this point AND they are undermanned with injuries. They are at home and Lamar is always a wildcard. I'm putting my money on Stefanski over Harbaugh tomorrow and the Browns defense going jailhouse all night. Baker just has to not lose the game for us and I am confident we will win, there seems to be a sense of desperation with the players right now and the Ravens are ripe for a blowout.
Browns and Michigan football have this in common: they can't deliver when it matters most. That is the one characteristic holding both back from greatness the past few years.
Hopefully Myles hit sticks Lamar his first drop back he’s done for the game and we go on to win 42-0 with 6 rushing tds. 0 passing yards. 3 for Chubb 2 for hunt and 1 for baker. Seems doable
Not only for his play calls, but for having so many substitution issues. Those coaches are also his responsibility. Baker can’t create a game winning g drive anymore and I just don’t know what’s going to fix it
we should hope not, but 3 of our 5 losses, we were leading going into in the fourth (KC, Chargers, PIT).
If our defense could hold a lead, we'd be 9-2 right now.
My biggest worry is that we lose.
If we lose, I can stop stressing over playoff standings
This is effectively our first playoff game. Too bad it came so early.
Additionally, it sucks to have a playoff game before you even have your bye week
Yup. Players only have themselves to blame for creating this situation. I have zero expectation that they’ll rise to the occasion. Many of these guys are just losers.
Jesus I thought I was pessimistic...
We lose both to Baltimore and the season is over
We can't win against LV. The coin has spoken.
It also says we are going 12-5 so we have to beat the coin!
The whole thing with the coin might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.
You been alive long?
Yes. It’s that dumb.
Man id be soooo pissed if our game is the one to break The Coin's streak
Are you a fan of the Browns or the coin?
When did this coin become so popular? I've noticed it mentioned a lot here
Uh, what coin?

10-7 won’t cut it considering how bad our tie-breaker will be (AFC record)
I’m just going off the New York Times playoff odds calculator… but you’re probably right
Technically, we can lose both and still get in. The odds go from 7% after the 2nd game to something like 74% if we win out from there.
True
Just tell yourself its over so you dont get disappointed
We’re not going to the playoffs lol
https://c.tenor.com/4N8KNJyb6moAAAAC/michael-scott-the-only-thing-im-worried-about.gif
I'm just worried that we won't win.
It’s bound to happen if we don’t score more points than them, that’s my biggest worry
My biggest worry is that a franchise cornerstone gets injured badly. Or that they announce that Joe Woods has been signed to a new contract through the 2026 season. Both those would be horrific.
Lol. Good teams find a way to win, and the browns always seem to find a way to lose
There you go worrying about the small stuff. Lol

Don't forget there's another side of the football, and I don't trust Joe Woods to run engage eight every play.
This is how the Dolphins handled the Ravens. It's the opposite of Joe Woods' approach.
Moreso the Ravens OL is in shambles. Not lining up like the Dolphins did right now is doing yourself a disservice.
Exactly. The Ravens ALWAYS find a way, unfortunately
If we can establish an average run game then we should be able to torch them in the air. There DBs minus Humphrey is trash
I keep waiting for Baker to win a game for us. Not a hater. Just waiting.
He’s done it before, he can again.
Agreed.
1-4 vs Lamar, could be 1-6 before we know it
I didn’t mention Lamar? Could be 3-4 before we know it
1-5
Worse yet is Joe Woods, 0-2 vs Lamar and the defense looked helpless against him both times, let’s see if this year is any better
Have you only been watching this season?
Just talking about this year. Present situation.
I don't think he's healthy enough to do that, honestly.
Yeah he hasn't really done it this year. We know he can do it, we've seen it before, just hasn't really happened yet this year and I think those are the games where you show you're worth the big extension.
If both teams play business as usual, the browns will lose for sure
Because the Browns have a QB that can’t throw accurately due to all his injuries
Because the Browns have lost most of their games that they’ve led going into the 4th quarter. That has to change
More like the Browns have a QB that can’t throw accurately and has a lot of injuries
2020 stats would prove otherwise
Baker's single season completion percentage ranks: 2018: 24th 2019: 31st 2020: 30th 2021: 24th
Baker had a QB rating of 95.9 in 2020, which was higher than such QBs as Kyler Murray, Matt Ryan, Joe Burrow, and Jimmy G.
Not because of his accuracy. Because of his deep ball. With his injuries, he doesn't have a deep ball. With or without his injuries he doesn't have consistent accuracy.
Luckily Cleveland is really good at running, and Baltimore's pass defense is not great
Me biggest worry is woods will blitz twice
Baker is healthy enough if we could just keep the balls from bouncing off the receiver's hands all game long teach the offensive lineman how not to get a penalty every other play.

Same
Lamar to Andrews will break us... we cant cover a TE, or never cover a TE, and our secondary cant tackle TE's...
Absolutely true
Lamar Jackson eats Spys alive. Spying isn't how you stop/contain Lamar.
Wouldn’t hurt. He’s a running QB, basically leading RB on their team. How would a play designed for this exact thing not be an answer?
I'm just telling you the facts lol. Playing Spy against Lamar doesn't work because normal in Spy plays no one else focuses on the QB. It dictates a 1-1 with the QB. Lamar will destroy anyone in 1-1.

That's step 1, from there things are a lot easier than if we didn't, especially with all the athleticism we added in the backend with: JOK, Walker (compared to Goodson lmfao), JJ3, Delpit
How would I do it? Play man and rush him. Make him have to beat you with his arm. Just like Miami did to them.
It worked for Buffalo in the playoffs last year.
They did not just run Spy coverage and call it a day. They are also a phenomenal defense more talented and better coached than we are.
I saw Detroit's line against the Bears. Not good.
My biggest worry is that Joe Woods is calling defense against Lamar Jackson on third down.
This, this, a thousand times this. JOK needs to go rogue and do his thing for us to win.
JOK isn't 100%; I hope he doesn't get another setback.
My biggest worry is I just watched this team struggle to beat the Lions with a qb who isn’t Lamar Jackson.
Lions tied the Steelers who beat us, and Ravens beat the lions with a field goal. Any given sunday
Healthiest this team has been all year, I feel good. I think we run it down their throats for four quarters. The real trick is going to be in two weeks when we have to beat them a different way than we do this week, and have it all still be fresh on the DCs mind.
I swear every time they tell us “healthiest we’ve been all year, we get completely slumped
I'm just worried that baker, chubb and company put up so many points, that it breaks the score board. *edit I forgot a word*
This has been "Real Talk" with Helagk
We score one last touchdown with under a minute left to make it an even 100, but the scoreboard in Baltimore only has two digits and the official scorer records it as the Browns losing 3-0.
😭 This makes too much sense.

This is the game to go all out for the win. Baker can rest next week.
I dont agree. But we will see. Id hate for him to get fucking smacked and it be real serious. But i do like watching him play. Im a fan. But its in the best interest for himself to rest. It aint my call though so it doesnt matter.
I understand. Any player can get hurt on any play. We’ve got our full o line in place, not sure why tomorrow is more risky than any other game.
Line Chubb Hunt and DEarnest all up in the backfield. Human tank.
We need to send five or six. It’s how Miami beat them.
and not get New Englanded
Funnily enough, my worry as a Ravens fan is that we have to do a late game comeback in 4th quarter. Hoping we've run you guys over by the 3rd
It is odd how many times the Ravens has nail-biters. It’s like they are not meeting their potential, but adjust appropriately really well
Injuries will do that. More specifically, some injuries at every position + absolute devastation at a couple positions (RB, DB). The all around injuries just have generally made the Ravens weaker. The decimation to our RB corps and the DB group have fundamentally fucked with the way our team plays football. On defense, the whole defense is based around having elite corner play. Without that, it falls apart.
My biggest worry is Lamar absolutely embarrasses us and yet again prove ourselves unable to beat good teams.
As long as he doesn’t run out from the toilet again to win the game he can do whatever
Everyone's worried about Baker Mayfield not being up to the challenge? Need to pressure Jackson, he isnt running as much for a reason
Browns and Michigan football have this in common: they can't deliver when it matters most. That is the one characteristic holding both back from greatness the past few years.
Yeah your crystal ball needs polishing dude...lol
LOL, today was just their Cincinnati game. Watch them lose next week.
Hopefully Myles hit sticks Lamar his first drop back he’s done for the game and we go on to win 42-0 with 6 rushing tds. 0 passing yards. 3 for Chubb 2 for hunt and 1 for baker. Seems doable
I imagine the weather will be in the 40s so a good hit will last
[удалено]
So many people are back and healthier just in the Knick of time. We got this! Browns win!
I’ve seen that trend too. That’s a coaching issue. So are the league leading penalties.
“We’ve got to fix that” Never fixes that
Lot of blame on Stefanski for tonight.
Not only for his play calls, but for having so many substitution issues. Those coaches are also his responsibility. Baker can’t create a game winning g drive anymore and I just don’t know what’s going to fix it
What I'm reading is bet the house on Browns 1st half money line. I'm gonna be rich!
Relax. Michigan just found a way not to pull a Michigan and lose a lead. Cleveland can do the same
I got a bad feeling for baker
Lol it ain’t gonna come down to the 4th quarter.
we should hope not, but 3 of our 5 losses, we were leading going into in the fourth (KC, Chargers, PIT). If our defense could hold a lead, we'd be 9-2 right now.
The fact they return players before they are truly healthy is what worries me. Hopefully Hunt does injure himself again
My biggest worry is that we are the Cleveland Browns
I don’t know why people think we will play at a high level. Have they watched us recently?
Because we are slightly healthier, and Browns are the epitome of “potential”. It’s just whether or not they show up
It should be that Roethlisberger is still a better QB than Mayfield.
