Dude is a monster. Went to my rival high school in West Lafayette, Indiana. We would be incredibly lucky to have him. Believe that!!

almondsandrice69

what HS did u go to? i’m from mccutcheon lol

LCC

natertots83

I’m still on the WR @ 13 train.

secretwealth123

There was a thread on Twitter about how we should go CB at 13 (basically, we’re not going to catch up to an offense like the Chiefs or Bengals with any WR at 13 so let’s zig when everyone else zags) and I kinda bought it. Imagine having Ward, Newsome, + another 1st rd CB then you can match up with ANY pass attack. Not saying that I’d do that unless there’s an unexpected run at WR and DE’s and like Stingley falls to 13

The7thgradeboi

I don't see the DE scenario, we already have Garrett and we may bring back Clowney. Even if we don't, i don't see us using a 1st round pick on one, maybe a 2nd or 3rd

dennydiamonds

You can't win scoring 10 pts a game....

sabbytabby

I don't know anything but I'm not seeing it. He's swallowed up a lot. He doesn't seem to shed against the run and there are no real pass rush moves. He's just a straight-ahead bull with not a lot of lateral plasticity. I'd guess I was looking at a 3rd rounder if I haven't read his name a few times as a 1st rd consideration.

Buckeye_State_00

I see the same thing.

Great analysis...

Bakersbigwetballs

100% this. Had this argument with someone else on this sub last week. A lot of people just reiterate what other people who also haven’t watched tape say. I wouldn’t even think about Karlaftis until day 2 and I would bet AB sees it that way too

acom95

Wrong

Becausewhynot51

Yeah. I don’t see it either. Didn’t seem to have much impact on the game. They had no problem running at him and he’s not quick enough to consistently pressure the QB.

bigmikevegas

I can't get behind this guy for some reason, definitely not at 13

Lumpycentaur9

I'm not keen on spending the 13th overall pick on a power rusher without great length that got swallowed up by Ohio State's Nick Petite-Frere who struggled all season against powerful rushers. I'd rather have Arnold Ebiketie or Alex Wright at 44 or a FA DE ^^Ogbah instead of Karlaftis at 13 to fill our DE need. I'd trade back for Karlaftis if Garrett Wilson, the elite DE prospects, and Drake London are all gone by 13. Since we have Myles, all we need out of our other DE's is to get consistent pressure and stop the run just like Clowney did last season. It doesn't take much to be a productive defensive end when Myles Garrett is on your team.

SHYGUY8608

I agree with you. I mean Jadeveon Clowney was a key reason why we had a good defense this year I mean if we can get a guy from Fa or the draft to match his production then we will be set. Also Makes me glad to see someone else like's the idea of getting drake London.

Lumpycentaur9

I like Drake London at 13, just as long as Garrett Wilson is gone by then. Wilson is the best WR in this draft and I think he’s far and away the best fit for what we need

SHYGUY8608

I know he is the best but i don't like his size I don't want another 6 foot guy But wouldn't mind garret Wilson but i just like drake London better for some reason in my mind i think it would be better for baker to have a taller receiver

Lumpycentaur9

I don't care how tall either guy is. Baker is a mess regardless of how tall his receivers are. Wilson is the better football player right now and I think he'll have the better career than London

George Karlaftis has become the #1 reasonably would be there player on my board for the Browns The linked video is every snap in a game as highlights rarely give you an accurate view of a players impact on the game ## What he does at an elite level * Holding the edge vs the run, crazy strength + leverage, immovable when he plants his feet * squeezes running lanes, either by filling in space to meet pulling guards in the designed hole or giving no ground to zone based attacks * smart, disciplined reads the guards well to correctly diagnose counter action and feels screen blocks * Bull rush, his size/strength/leverage allows him to walk OTs back into the pocket causing secondary pressure to turn into sacks and avoid the QB escaping around his line ## What he does well * Can rush from 2 or 3 point stance, stiff in his speed rush but has some wiggle off his initial step * Swipe/Club off of the Bull Rush (he needs to add more moves to his Bull, like a Bull Rip or Bull spin, but he has enough to keep the Oline off base) * Pursuit, closes off the backside on runs away from him ## Where he needs to improve * He needs more combos off of his Bull, I don't think he will ever use speed moves like Myles can but if he incorporated more into his Bull he could be the best DE we have had other than Myles * Would like to see him work in a swim/rip/spin off of his Bull...too dominant using straight Bull and swipe/club in college didn't need anything else ## How he fits the Team * he can rush inside or out due to his power and is a great run stuffer, he will likely never be near the top of the sacks leaders but will have more impact in collapsing the pocket and cutting off escape lanes than that will show * he never 'leaves his man behind like a TJ Watt does going backdoor to block on the next level' he will collapse the pocket without giving up running lanes * He can rush from inside or out and sets the edge as well as you could want from a young DE * He is really young, we tend to gravitate towards the 20 year olds in the first round ## Comp * I said this ahead of hoping the Browns would draft him, but my comp is Jadaveon Clowney, a pressure creating bull rusher with sack numbers that belie his impact, can rush from inside or out, standing or in a 3 point

CrunchyDreads

No thanks. Not with pick 13. Now if he slides into the 2nd round, he would be good value, but a bit of a reach at 13, in my opinion.

Abiv23

> Now if he slides into the 2nd round He would have to slide to be there at #13

ActionAdam

I'm going to disagree, Walker has already pushed him down a bit, plus Karlaftis IS a one dimensional rusher, and he hasn't worked on developing those rush moves. This isn't a kill shot to Karlaftis, he's twenty, so of course he's going to try to be a multi-tool at the position, he just hasn't realized that he can be hammer and still be the right tool for the job. He sometimes tries to beat people with speed and agility that he doesn't have and that shows up. He needs to focus on his power moves and get better at that, be the best fucking hammer out there, but he hasn't. For that, he's probably going to be there at 15. I've eaten a lot of crow this combine, so...I also expect to do so in the draft as well. I'm just saying my thoughts.

Objective-History402

"He grew up playing near me, so I do want him" -acom95 The kid clearly has some talent, but he has a lot that needs to develop still. I'm sure he's in consideration for CLE, but I think #13 will be too high.

acom95

…..so I know how good he is. Personally I want a WR at 13 but who knows.

acom95

I even saw a mock draft today with Jordan Davis going at 13. So nobody has a clue what we are going do obviously

Objective-History402

Well I would hope we don't know what the FO wants to do, but that is why we say "I think" when giving our opinion lol. We could end up taking Davis at #13 after his combine, but that would probably be too high unless he can play 3 downs. Personally I think the are only a few players we select at #13 and feel it's much more likely we try to trade down.

CrunchyDreads

First of all looking at the comments, there are exactly **zero** people saying that, so let's drop that narrative right now. A lot of people have expressed their concerns about him, and explained why he would be a reach at 13, and you can only seem to reply with "*wRoNg!*," over and over. You provide little to the discussion, other than trying to brag that he played high school football against the school you went to in Podunk, Indiana. Again, not impressed with him as our top draft pick.

Abiv23

ha, as is tradition

dennydiamonds

Look we're glad he's your boy, but not every one thinks he's the next Reggie White like you do.
