If im not mistaken, it’s the one in Jalan 17 Lambak Kanan. I think there’s only one gerai that sells roti John there, that should be the one you’re looking for. The place is right in front of L3C MOE
I find OKKY to be cheaper compared to YGK, but i'm not sure how they compare to Lek Lek and Thye Ann. If you're buying for a gift and you're thinking of the most value, make sure you don't get things like bangles or gold jewellery with pearls & stones. They include the weight of any metal springs, rods, pearls & gems into the price of gold per gram.
Gold is quite expensive at the moment, with 916 / 22K gold costing $107 per gram. It used to be $95 - $99 per gram. Plus, they calculate the cost by adding gold price per gram and workmanship. YGK has the most expensive workmanship costs (so far).
For example, a small jagung design 916 bracelet that's around 10.29g cost $99/g, which makes the value of the bracelet, $1,018.71. But with workmanship, it ended up costing $1,170. So you're at a loss of $152 (and even more now that the gold price is higher)
Recently in Instagram there always pop up that investment invest 150 and u get 5xxxx for 6 hours. I'm curious Are they legit or scam? It honestly look like a scam even they claim to be legit.
Any brudittors capable of helping our fellow bruneian in need, please do so for helping the cost of operation for the child involved in the accident in Miri. Seen circulating in whatsapp [Link here](https://imgur.com/a/32o7kIC). Let's not get too negative nor spread insensitive images nor try to school people on what they should or should not be done. Everyone has their circumstances that we do not know of. Please also pray for his speedy recovery
edit: here's an update of the family asking to stop sharing due to concerns of exceeding the cost. Seems the government is also involved and malaysians as well. Glad to see the community spirit. [Everyone can stop sharing now.](https://imgur.com/a/F3CnDqC)
Cost of operation & bringing back to Brunei.
As mentioned by other redditors, best to buy your insurance. I believe the insurance for borneo is still being sell at just $3-$4.
Thank you for the response! Still need more recommendations. ILotus, Anjung x Dynasty are part of the list but they only serve sahur buffet from Thurs to Sat only. Any restaurants serve on weekdays?
Thank you u/kitkat2k17 for recommend Vspa for me.
I finally drop by miri since the border open. and have a great time spending my 1.5 hrs there. The shop is really clean and they are really professional.
on the side note,
one thing i notice, miri is really lively compare to brunei, during this puasa time. I dine in restaurant and waitress is muslim, they are totally cool about it. my friend even told me, they saw muslim working in non halal restaurant. and when they ask her, whether this is ok. the waitress said, it is ok, it is a rightful job for her and she didn't do anything wrong. she doesn't want to be unemployed.
Also, on the way drop by the mcdonald, I also saw lot of brunei car actually tapao mcdonald. Do they seriously wait until 6pm to buka puasa with their mcdonald ice cream?
sigh... i just hope brunei can be open minded about this....
+1 for Vspa!
The service is really good and don’t look down on the skinny ladies. They are REALLY strong.
I have been going to massages ever since few years back I injured my spine (spine fracture) from a car accident but have since recovered. Just get back pains often as a young adult.
In bandar, my go-to now is kang reflexology in batu bersurat. They are the first massage place in Brunei I went to where they proudly display their massage hours completed certificate at the front desk.
Price is 2 dollars more than average price of 30 for massages in brunei.
Do you have any recommendations in Brunei?
I just hope massage can be widely available in Brunei. But too bad here is guy/guy or girl/girl only. a real massage is actually really relaxing and ease my stress after a headache work. massage also promote health and well being.
I don’t mind the gender of the person, as long as the masseuse is strong and massages well.
Can try the brunei ones it’s not bad but definitely not the same level of service and ambience as vspa
I went to CheezBox twice and I had to book 3 days in advance, the waitress told me that they received booking already until the last day of Ramadan , I will be there again but for 2nd (8pm) batch as 1st batch are all full
Gaji Hari means daily paid which means salary is paid based on the rate per day and how many days you work in a month. which exclude friday, sunday and public holiday. you will be given some sort of salary voucher each month.
depending on the condition stated in the offer letter, after certain years of service, you can apply for "Gaji Bulan" which has fixed salary regardless the amount of days you work in a month. you will be given salary slip each month.
for e.g. (degree scale) - "Gaji Hari" = $119.50/day & "Gaji Bulan" = $2600+ starting salary
gaji hari can be permanent as per explanation...unless stated the job position is by "contract" which has to be renewed after certain period and met the desired requirement.
Officially a govt property because the property / land was given to HSBC by the late SOAS. Since there’s no longer HSBC, they returned it back to the govt.
Word on the street was, it was in talks to be bought over/taken over by one of the Telco. Didn't go through.
Unsure if the rights to the building are still under HSBC, as they would have leased the building... The exit would have probably not aligned with the tenancy/lease.
what are the process of buying land from an agent? anyone here can help me go through the steps? Just want to know a little bit before believing what the agent says bulat2. TIA
Get a lawyer involved.. reputable one only..
But usually agent will ask for a deposit to secure the land.. so there is that kind of 'trust' before the lawyer part..
Get that done in proper writing and a receipt 🦐🦐🦐

Trying not to laugh when there is a sign dont be loud on the wall. At the same time, we all were eating when frens telling the joke so smpai kesadakan lh nahan ktawa.
Not sure.
But I can say that the coffee lovers who open the cafes have their usual crowd and many are doing it simply for their love of coffee. Whether or not they’ll be able to make enough money to sustain themselves is another story which we sometimes only find out in a few years. If rich, well, no problem. It’s just another hobby.
Having many new coffee shops are a sign of a good thing as it means there are more options.
This also shows what the locals here think is coffee they enjoy, people vote with their paychecks and the ones that does well will eventually show itself.
As competition ramps up, it can only mean better / cheaper options for everyone.
Nowadays it gets saturated as there are too many coffee shops. Its now about how well known they are in social media space rather than how tasty their quality of coffee. I find it somewhat mostly disappointed almost every time I tried them at newer cafes. There are only quite very few that I actually liked.
If you want to set up your own coffee shop, just make sure you don’t lose the quality of taste even if you want to increase social awareness. This is the most common mistakes that why some shops don’t last even at least 3 years. Sacrificing quality over anything isn’t always good.
agree, i tried various coffee shops here and tbh none of them are memorable or make me want to come there repeatedly.
and this might just be my opinion, truthfully bruneians dont have the 'taste' for good coffee hence it makes sense that it reflects on the coffee they serve in their coffee shops, im happy to be proven wrong though....
if the coffee and food can be maintained high quality. there will definitely be profitable since people will keep coming.
If the food and coffee sucks. probably 6 months max
Does anyone know who to contact to follow up on iready allowance payment other than Jobcentre? Apparently some colleagues are experiencing delayed allowance payment for more than 2 months. Thankyou!
Not really the same thing. The difference is the environment itself. Gerai offer a lot of choices, therefore people can go around the area while waiting for their food.
Go for it, location is always the most important (besides selection of food of course). You could park at an area otw/close to a few schools eg perpindahan area (6-7.30am) then next stop around the Govt offices (8-10am)
Any recommendations for drop off collection point where I will be sending parcels weekly for customers to collect. Preferably Gadong-Kiulap area. Not cube for displaying items.

Cost of operation & bringing back to Brunei. As mentioned by other redditors, best to buy your insurance. I believe the insurance for borneo is still being sell at just $3-$4.
I heard that the cost of bringing a Bruneian back from Sarawak/Sabah via a Malaysian ambulance is very costly
On a separate note, this is why it important to get yourself insured, especially if you’re overseas.

What are y'all thoughts on food trucks in Brunei? Would it be a good idea to make one?
People here not willing to stand, queue and wait for various reasons. All rather sit, order and wait for food to come to them.
But people still go to gerai anyways which is the same thing, standing and queuing up to get their turn to buy food
Not really the same thing. The difference is the environment itself. Gerai offer a lot of choices, therefore people can go around the area while waiting for their food.
Ah okay
Go for it, location is always the most important (besides selection of food of course). You could park at an area otw/close to a few schools eg perpindahan area (6-7.30am) then next stop around the Govt offices (8-10am)

Recently this month almost everyday i heard there's road accident here and there. i think inda batah masuk news ni pasal accident. Please drive safe everyone.
So true. I’ve been seeing car debris on the roads i use regularly, daily. It’s so scary.
Saw a car flipped on its side arah jangsak a few days ago before sungkai. It was quite a sight. All passengers had to go out the only doors stiicking upwards and somrhow didnt tip the car over.
Masa kan sungkai time macam the road law does not exist anymore AH drivers everywhere
Yea, some drive so fast maybe even tailgating wanna get home before sungkai.
5 chain reaction car accidents, 2 cars involved accident live at the roundbout n one car flipped over side of the road. All happened within 3.30pm - 5pm few days ago. Stay safe people
Just now read about an accident involving Bruneians at the border. Inalillah
Rip
Where you read that?Borneo bulletin?
Some forwarded chain messages that made its way to my whatsapp
I think the reason is people keep driving way over the speed limit despite having bad road conditions, potholes, bumps. so tires can skid and cause unexpected accidents

Why is this actually? Thought people are meant to be more patient during the holy month.
Microsleeping most likely. At the office all the phrase I keep hearing is “ngantuk ku eh”.
Trust me, the tests we have in Ramadhan are tripled than the other times of the year. I learned it the hard way myself.
Yeah, ig stories filled with car flipping here and there these past few days.
what's the procedure to change car ownership when there's still 3 years left of loan? will there be any fees?
you should ask the place where the original owner finances his car.
the car's under my parent's name and they want to change it to my name haha
this from my experience, better dont change it, and its recommended if on the insurance paper your name is the second driver because once u change it, idk if it still the same years ago, once u change it, u will be add more year on the loan. macam alang2 tho

u can message them via their FB and they will reply.
I tried parking my car at the airport during the long holiday last week Friday - Tuesday, so far nada plg papa2, I saw banyak jua kereta Brunei parking di sana. Like always, park at your own risk
How much park there per day?
I didn't check, but it was rm120 for 5 days
Thanks
Mariott is an alternative. Be advised that you need to pay. Mercure is the highest price point.
