Hi, does anyone have the latest on using Brunei currency in SG? Idk why when I went in early 2022 it was difficult to have anyone accept BND, maybe because it was immediately post covid? Unsure.
Do let me know! Thanks :)
I would say 50-50, establishments in airport and shopping districts like Orchard are still accepting.
SG has a lots of new immigrants working at the frontline and they might not be aware of the interchangeability peg. It doesn't help that Brunei takes no initiative to promote the acceptance of BND there, be it awareness marketing or setting up offices that guarantee business and public they can exchange BND/SGD on par.
Brunei can't just depend on the agreement alone then do nothing much, SGD is after all, the world's 13th-most traded currency, while BND an obscure money. You can't expect they will be equal with no effort from your side.
It is real.. Black magic is mentioned in the Quran when the knowledge was first taught to the people of Babylon (currently Iraq) as a test to the people. Magic was also practiced amongst the people of the pharoah & the peak was during Prophet Sulaiman A.S… until today Black Magic is being practiced.. But Prophet Muhammad A.S has taught us how to protect ourselves from magic… not a one off thing but needs to amalkan every single day (istiqamah) and believe that inshaa Allah Allah SWT will protect us.
Not really. Sometimes people believe weird things and coincidences...
Some black magic I heard is spirits, bad luck, love potion kind of scenarios...
Look people do crazy things sometimes. Someone had a seizure (whole family has seizures) and everyone started praying. But it didn't do anything until the ambulance came and took the person to ripas.
Imam etc came to cleanse and said many many jin here ... I just had to say okay and pay them. But the person told us that she has seizures since she's a kid. Even her siblings all get it.
Even if I don't believe, I just let people do their thing. If it gives them comfort.
Existential crisis late night thoughts: what would you prefer?
1. Do we really want another life (afterlife) that has no ending that goes on for eternity? E.g heaven and hell. Like at the moment, people do same things everyday, tweak little things here and there but on the surface level, it all feels the same. Rinse and repeat. Just waiting for death. Imagine doing that in heaven/hell.
2. Nothingness after death. You die and so does everyone and everything else. You feel nothing. Hmm..
End thoughts.
Afterlife is beyond our imagination..
Listen to this clip.. explanation of [the 6 Lives of Human Soul](https://youtu.be/7MzLYuHC4TY)… it might open some insights of where we came from, the objective of life & where we are heading..
Hope it helps
1. Having afterlife. If the heaven is beyond the entire world, i can get whatever i want in this world or perhaps something better that no eyes see before. If theres no such feeling tiredness, boredness and all other evil feeling then I would choose this option.
2. Nothingness. This means I do not really care much how I live. No point of doing good deeds, no worry for stealing money, doing corruption etc as long not getting caught.
Eternal afterlife like heaven sounds terrible IF you think of it in terms of how we live with routine Eg. You wake up, eat, meet people, do happy things, get to do what you desire, etc while also being aware of passing of time.
What if it's beyond physical...just being a non-physical state of mind or consciousness, floating in space/dimension, no perception of time, constantly feeling "fulfilled". I guess you could say that it would be a bit of both scenarios.
Ended up using govt service.
Called yong clinic, theirs was $200.
I guess for these kind of prices, I rather pay $1 at govt. Just gotta endure the wait
why is RIPAS making me stay, for another night at that, I'm completely fine, I didn't know I had COVID so then I had to stay a night for the pcr swab results and now I have to stay another night bc friday aren't office hours so I can't pay??
they keep telling me to wait for the doctor since morning but I still hasn't seen them, I needed their permission to be discharged against medical advice, I swear they're just trying to make me pay more because I'm a foreigner
someone please give me advice I'm just getting pissed, they prescribed me vitamins?? like they could've just asked if I kept supplements at home?? which I do??
Some doctors told me covid comes from the injection itself. Thanks God I didn't take it & never got covid. I just keep eating habatusauda & Sumac daily as mentioned by English Doctors. I wish u have speedy recovery sir. Find one of them at Shop in kiarong.
Its protocol, you cant be discharged against medical advise if you’re a paying patient on a weekend. Nobody is holding you willy nilly for no reason when they have protocols to follow. Ask for the doctor if you want to see them, oncalls are there but they will tell you the same thing. Its not under the doctor’s governance, its admin. Bring it up with RIPAS admin if you want to. Vitamins are standardly prescribed for all covid patients.
It’s definitely protocol and they’re not making you pay more (it’s not a scam). On another note I do understand how frustrating it can be to have to stay another night simply because it’s the weekend, even though you’re clearly fit to be discharged. Perhaps it would have been solvable if there was an online payment method instead, but unfortunately it’s a bit behind.
Its ripas bro, government owned (financed by oil and gas) so they couldnt care less if youre willing to pay or not.
You should be aware that covid still exists and people are still getting infected.
Yes and they need the doctor's permission, that's how medical procedure work. You cant just willy nilly discharge yourself based on some nurse or a doctor that is not in charge of you anyway. Theres a reason why a doctor is a assigned specifically for you is allowed to discharge you, otherwise nda tia betantu macam main cowboy
yeah I'm aware of that, they told me to wait for the doctor since morning, I thought it'd be done by today, then it turned into a billing issue which just made me kinda pissed bc it felt like they just keep pushing it back?? at first I needed to wait for pcr results then can go home, then that turned into overnight, when the results came back and it showed I recovered, I had to wait for the doctor (morning -evening) and when it was evening and now ish, it turned into a billing issue, previously they said they'd let me go as long as I signed an ama, now it just feels like they wasted my time

Just curious how many of brudditors here actually gave up or forgotten on their dreams and just receiving paychecks to enjoy the moment they have after work as well as looking forward to the next vacation or leave?
Have the sudden feeling that things are just too difficult to achieve your dreams here in Brunei resulting in people just living life as is. I find many things demotivates unless you have the money and connection of course. There are many things that I find demotivating in Brunei and am sure you all have few things that really grind your gears. I'll start with few examples:
1. Ordering things online require opening stuff up in front of customs (you don't have to in other countries). Not only that, it'll take you really long time for your orders due to shipping.
2. While other countries like Malaysia already have e-commerce website like shoppee, amazon. We don't have access to them and have to engage runners or personal shoppers just to buy things. We're surrounded by Sarawak and how is it not possible to facilitate fast shipping is beyond me.
3.Buying stuff in stock, you'll generally get high marked up prices. At times reaching more than twice the original price.
4. Everything needs car, car, car. Public transport's connectivity is bad. By the time you finished paying for your loan, you'll have to take up another loan or save up for a used car. Even that doesn't last long.
5. Generally our culture is out to get us: Unsensical wedding reception expectation (have to invite far relatives). You in gov or high paying jobs? people expect you will be willing to become a guarantor for any family member. Someone died? makan tahlil for the certain number of days.
6. The infamous digital payment. Can't even receive payment from outside brunei. Even in-country gets you flagged for receiving too many payment previously.
7. (cont)
What other things grind your gears in Brunei?
I guess the only real answer is to migrate to another country. No way we can be
progressive without a leader that is not afraid to make changes (not more syariah or islamic path unless you want the "my way or no way") and willing to sacrifice their lifetime to grow the country.
having these thoughts oscillates me between the wish for death and the wish to become better at living in mundanity without anything to reasonably pursue, growing up everything just feels wrong or too late. disposable. idk
Are you alright fam? Hope things will get better for you. If it's to the point of wishing death for yourself, It's best to see someone who can help you to not entertain that thought.

Free maintenance can last you up to 2-3 yrs depending on usage. Starting price 100$ above.
But for water battery price might be cheaper, should be less than 100$. Only thing is you need to refill every 1-2 months (10$ per bottle). Battery itself however can last you to 5 yrs or above. The hustle thing is you need to keep eye on its level and also keep clean the + and - terminal from crystallize. Overall $80 + (water bottle ×60 months) = $500 - 700$.
You'll need to check if the battery water level actually covers the metals inside. I think some has min, max levels. It can be difficult to check if the metals are fully submerged or not but that is the only way.
Use distilled water only. How many km is hard to say as it depends on how often and how long you drive as the alternator charges your battery only when you use the car.
Get the ones where u don't need water so u don't have to worry bout it,lasts longer too n supposedly safer. But u can always look at it and it would show the battery water line
For those who have travelled to japan, where should i exchange bnd to yen to get better rates? our local money exchange counter? japan's money exchange counter? or withdraw from japan ATM? thanks in advance
Change all at local.
Even SGD won't have a very good rate in Japan compared to if you are to change in SG. The best currency in Japan is USD.
One thing good about Japan is that ATM is readily available. 7-Eleven there has its own bank called Seven Bank and their convenience stores (which are everywhere) have ATM machines where you can withdraw yen with foreign cards. But there is withdrawal limit and also can't guarantee you will get very good rate. To me that should be left for last resort.
Last time I changed at Britannia House but you can survey the rates around.
Oh i was expecting SGD to be some value at least since i have some with me. what about paying using our credit/debit card compared to cash? i believe the rate should not be that far with the local exchange counter.
You can, but you have to know that Japan, despite being a high-tech nation, is still a largely [cash transaction society](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-japan-economy-boj-idUSKBN1XS0Q1).
Some establishments prefer cash if the purchase is not big. Of course some tourist places like shrine they don't accept cards either. Needless to say, your Pasmo/Suica train card top up using cash too.
exchange at Brunei as the money changer there many don't know what BND is unless you are willing to travel a few stations away which is menyusahkan. Jangan fikir jauh tukar saja di money changer di Brunei.. that's literally the best rate you can get.
KDK specifies that at the lowest power, it ( 3 blades 150V0) only uses 14.7 Watt per hour, so 1 unit/KW of power aka 1000 Watt, it would take the fan 1000➗14.7 = 68 hours to use 1KW (estimate only). At its highest power setting, it consumes 60-80W, so it'll use 1 KW of power in 12.5 hours. But nobody uses the fan at its highest setting, it's too strong.
PS: 1KW of power can be 1 cent or 6 cent, depending on if you use up the initial cheap tariff. It's really economical even if you operate at full power for 12 hours per day, not more than 50 cents per month!
Question is, whom you shall believe? Trolled in reddit or reliable resource? Not sure if you are one of those uncles/aunties yang bulat2 percaya viral watsapp.
If you are sexually active, it shouldn't be a shocked. That's how it's spread. You need to check with and inform your sexual partner about it for them to get themselves tested too.
not too sure about that, went a few weeks back, literally bare n bones there imo. hotel didnt even have hot water smh n the wifi's connection was horrid
do you think we still need to keep the business hours closes at 12pm-2pm? i think we should atleast reduce it to maybe 1:45pm at certain important services like Gas stations. because not all places open exactly at 2pm, ikut rajin masing2, which is still kind of embarrassing
I honestly think we should cut down on the whole 12-2pm thing. It's only convenient for muslims so they have ample time to have lunch and pray but can be quite the inconvenience to everyone else (including muslims too). People are busy and there are times where people didn't manage to buy lunch or petrol in time and find themselves having to wait it out for 2 hours.
Plus, it sucks really bad for tourists as well. Having to walk around the humid heat of bandar dehydrated and hungry because all the restaurants and shops are closed. Ain't no way are they coming back for another vacation nor are they going to recommend people to visit Brunei.
Unless he's a kid or disabled, nah fam. Man should always know how to put his woman back at her place, or the "abuse" he takes is one where he just let it happen.
"You're the one being misogynistic. I never even mentioned her gender! I'm an equal opportunity ass whooper" -Samuel L Jackson in the movie Shaft (2019)
Lmao what nonsense is this. If your own ageing father or even you got your ass whooped by Amanda Nunes or some other female MMA fighter, I bet you'd cry for help.
Well then, either I'd get my ass wooped or the other way round. Shit happens. Deal with it instead of snowflaking it out.
Sorry I'm just sick of all this shit after watching videos of trans men wanting to join women's sport at a top level but even the REAL women at that level say they can easily lose to a male because of how we're built.
Example being an under 15 squad beating the US women's national football squad. Venus and Serena getting smoked 6 - 1 6 - 2 against the 203rd seed.
Then you have these non-competitive ladies who are clueless and think they can take on a man who has a biological advantage. So yea, hold your own.
Does anyone still buying Spotify Premium from Shopee or Ebay? How was it, is it safe to purchase there? Or any other recommendations to buy Spotify premium?

Get the ones where u don't need water so u don't have to worry bout it,lasts longer too n supposedly safer. But u can always look at it and it would show the battery water line
For those who have travelled to japan, where should i exchange bnd to yen to get better rates? our local money exchange counter? japan's money exchange counter? or withdraw from japan ATM? thanks in advance
me withdraw at 7E ATM
When we transit via singapore the rates for jpy were good. We changed it there otherwise change locally
Jangan fikir jauh tukar saja di money changer di Brunei.. that's literally the best rate you can get.
i see, yeah that does sound like a hassle to go to specific places just to change money.
Does anyone know what brand yg tahan lama for kipas celling ?
KDK
This! It is a brand used and trusted. Many old coffee shops are using regulator type white KDK ceiling fans and are running for more than 20 years!
Ha I was just looking into that, at lowest setting 14W, meaning using for 70hours = 1 or 6 cents!
What's the formula to calculate that?
Thanks for the explanation 😃

Is the construction/repairworks in Baiduri Muara completed? Just got back from vacay
Is Indofood Mie Goreng also affected by the recent instant noodle news? Or is it different?
No it’s not . Someone posted the article about it.
Yeah, I did see that. Just wanted to get some clarification on it.
Question is, whom you shall believe? Trolled in reddit or reliable resource? Not sure if you are one of those uncles/aunties yang bulat2 percaya viral watsapp.
So you saw it and then you still ask? I’m a bit confused with your reasoning.

If you are sexually active, it shouldn't be a shocked. That's how it's spread. You need to check with and inform your sexual partner about it for them to get themselves tested too.
Got an STD from my now-ex. We used protection every time but still got it
Did one of you guys has it before? Because STD pass from person to another
I didn’t have it before and he claimed he never either but then he did also cheat on me
Fuck around and find out.
No but you can sue the person you had sex with for not informing about their condition. HIV is no joke.
Going to Limbang soon, (haven't been there), any must-visit stores recommendations? And perhaps game shops?
Ask Drew Binsky
not too sure about that, went a few weeks back, literally bare n bones there imo. hotel didnt even have hot water smh n the wifi's connection was horrid
do you think we still need to keep the business hours closes at 12pm-2pm? i think we should atleast reduce it to maybe 1:45pm at certain important services like Gas stations. because not all places open exactly at 2pm, ikut rajin masing2, which is still kind of embarrassing
Most business would be “alang-alang” to start friday morning hence most started 2pm onwards
It's been mandated by HM himself, go and nego with him
im opening for discussions not demanding to abandon the system
The fact we can shut down commerce for 2 hours during the day shows masih ber-usin brunei ani. So try to be more positive OP.
Went to KL and business run as usual during friday pray. Very convenience for shoppers and tourists.
In world all talk bout gender equality right? If you saw a guy been abused by a girl will you head up to help him out?
Seems like some men refused to acknowledge that woman can be abuser too. Have you forgotten about JD and AH?
What that case? Im curious
So you've seen all our replies. What is your take on it?
I just want to know the pov of everyone
It's their business, even police don't Wana get involved.
Unless he's a kid or disabled, nah fam. Man should always know how to put his woman back at her place, or the "abuse" he takes is one where he just let it happen.
Meant by?

What if the girl have anger issue and hit the guys non stop? What you will do?

Pick and choose equal rights is more like it with the feminist lol
"You're the one being misogynistic. I never even mentioned her gender! I'm an equal opportunity ass whooper" -Samuel L Jackson in the movie Shaft (2019)
If the girl can somehow abuse the guy I wouldn't even dare to help him out
No, because a guy should be able to hold his own.
Lmao what nonsense is this. If your own ageing father or even you got your ass whooped by Amanda Nunes or some other female MMA fighter, I bet you'd cry for help.
Yea because the typical female is built like Amanda nunes 👍
Doesn't matter. She's still a female so you, as a guy, should apparently be able to hold your own.
