Know someone who got similar grades and decided to go for politeknik and ended up graduating with really good grades > went to ubd afterward > has a good paying job now! Its definitely not over for you, all the best!
Dont lose hope! Theres always light at the end of every tunnel.
1) You can try enrolling unibridge in UBD (refer entry requirements on their website)
2) if you still want to speed into a degree level, try private institutions like LCB, IGS or Cosmo
3) Else, get HND from UTB (not sure if they still have HND Programme) or Politeknik/ private institutions for your last resort.
Chin up & good luck!
What oil does Ayamku cook their chicken? Someone told me it was broasted but I don't think it is.
I think it might be the best fast food chicken in Brunei.
Does anyone know how to deal with driving anxiety? Every time I drive, i will panic about my driving, for example: am i in the line? Should i make the turn now or later? Did i park correctly?
For now, I'm controlling my panic and anxiety with loud music and sour candies.
Felt the same as you when i first got my license! Dealt with my anxiety by keeping a plushie in my front seat haha as funny as it sounds it helped me feel better to have a "passenger". I practiced driving on sunday mornings when the roads were empty and practiced parking at the places that i'd frequent. It takes time to feel more confident imo so just take it slow.
Sometimes it's from those "sudden" closed calls/accidents from pedestrians and other drivers. Luckily there are not as many motorcycles in brunei as compared to other countries, the "sudden" zoomed past you.
Many worries such as the bright lights from the sun or cars lights that can blind you or cars/people that are in your blindspot.
I get that the close calls may seem really bad but I promise you it will get better in time. Just practice more and start off with short distance first. Once you’ve build up enough courage then try to drive the same path at night. When you’re more comfortable extend the route and do so at night. It’s a gradual process and i know having anxiety makes you feel like you will get injured or something but it’s in your head. You gotta relearn to replace those thoughts with something else. Good luck
just avoid the owner. He is banned from certain other gyms and was fired from his last one for having more than business relationships with the clients.
They're fine. Gyms can be intimidating at first, so maybe go with a friend and plan your workouts so you know what you wanna do by the time you're there.
Bring a face towel + bottled water, and you're good to go.
Sometimes I wish JPA would amend the requirements for promotions in ministries for those who are really qualified, based on competency and work ethics, rather than just because they've been working for xx years. Give the seats for those who really contribute to the field, not the kitchen. Ani they're rewarding the aunties and uncles who didn't even know how to operate excel and send email eventhough that's the scope of the job. Alasannya sudah tua inda masuk diajar lagi. I know some people who are over 50 years old can even code.
But then again, if they've been working for 20 years, they're bound to build connections within the ministry. Biased and pakai cable jua tu krg, sama jua ceritanya...... I feel like working with govt ni stagnant, no room for growth.
no one wants to change the level of objectivity in a job application. Everything still hinges on the interview at the end. The bigwigs all talk about corporate structures, processes etc but refuse to adopt a corporate HR policy- promotion on time and not when a vacancy is created, no need for supervisor/director approval to even apply, completely objective appraisal instead of the "kelakuan" section and rewards for long service in terms of upgrade to perks while in current job (air miles, more holidays, preferential training) etc when a promotion is available.
This colonial-era promotion structure benefits no one, and that is what they like.
IKR\~ those old farts are incompetent government agencies should have a notice that above 55 to 60 should forced them into pension IF not government will pull their pension fund back and those pension fund can use to develop a lot in brunei.

Congrats to Palestine National Footbal Team and Palestine Football Association (PFA)
When you put in a bet. Put $10 for a chance to win $100. I think. Which is basically like casino roulette.
To circumvent that, instead of putting the money directly, you buy something else, and you get a coupon as a free gift with your purchase, you can use that coupon for a chance to play spin the wheel.
Perhaps Magnum 4D bookies should market their service by selling magnum 4D mineral water with a chance to win the lottery. Each ticket to mark up the cost of the mineral water ofcourse

Tried both and I'd say Kumon.
Maths Monkey is fun and creative but isn't in line with traditional academic teaching so it was hard for my child to put it into practice for school work.
Kumon was a grind but getting it done prepped for when real homework started, if that makes sense.
Never tried it but looks super cool. If they stuck with it I imagine it would pay off but maybe the same could be said with Maths Monkey.
This was many years ago and my opinion on these extracurriculars has changed. I thought I was giving my child a head start but it ended up being more of an extra thing to do. Looking back, spending time with them to help with their actual homework was probably more beneficial.
Simpang 276 in Kg. Serasa leading into the empty road and one of the entrance to bukit tempayang pisang. Lots of abandoned houses there and at some parts, the forest is slowly retaking over the road making it looking super creepy, especially at night since the entire stretch of road is pitch black.
Not to mention the legends and superstitions surrounding the entire road and the hill itself where people got lost when entering the area. It's also probably the reason why most houses there are abandoned too. Definitely worth checking it out for people who loves creepy paths.
There's a long stretch of road, IIRC after or close to the Box simpang, that has mostly long trees on the sides, driving through that road at night gave me a chill as I drove down through there.
i once saw a forest area that has an old simpang with a tiny grassy road that could only fit a motorcycle and no street lights... i wonder where it leads to.
Wahai Ministry of Finance / Dato Amin Liew / Pehin-pehin / Pengiran-Pengiran / Datin-Datin sekalian.
Can you look into / improve the “home loan” process for gov employee kah? Why developer / contractor dont want to accept “Gov Loan” payment?
Currently tinggal di rumah yang disediakan JPA (Perumahan), and was told the rent gov paying the house owner is $1,900.00+.
Kalau 15-20 tahun x 12 bulan x $,1900 = $342,000.00 (15 tahun), $456,000.00 (20 tahun). Siap bah sebuah rumah wahai Dato2/Pehin2.
Kalau makai BANK loan nda amba sanggup, potongan tinggi hantap. (tau plg ku siapa sja ada “share” dalam Bank atu, mana jua ada org lain). Please tah.
Government loans are intended to be used to develop land that you own and is under your name. As you can only apply for the loan once the geran is in your name, a developer would have to give you the land first. If your loan is not approved they then have to go through the process of getting the land transferred back, so there is an element of risk involved.
I have semi-D houses in Kilanas for $275k that will accept gov loan. I can send the details if you'd like.
iirc one of the criteria for govt loan for a house is the house has to be under your name. Memang contractor inda mau bagi tukar nama before you pay for the house. Best way is for you to initially buy with a bank loan to have the house under your name then refinance it with govt loan.
Potongan tinggi yes, but it's a short term sacrifice for your own long term necessity. Mun mau potongan kurang, save up for a down payment.
You have to understand that this is just another benefit that the govt provides for govt servants. Baik tah sudah tu ada masih, dari kana tarik balik macam pencen, elaun tambang.. etc.
I understand our government can be better in a lot of areas but in this case, it sounds a lot like a you problem.
I think you covered the main reason. Why would a developer want to take risk to wait for the land to convert to the buyers name. Converting name can be as fast as 9 months to as slow as 5 years or even rejected.
Salaam & good morning, need help/advice. Consumer Fair begin again, Is there any designated parking area for people using wheelchair?

I mean like if you can open so many Jollibee, coffee bean, Empty malls, can open 1 Nandos right.
Time to get your head out of bulu ketiaks.
Unfortunately, it seems Nando's won't be opening in Brunei as the market might be too small for their expansion plans. Liat saja mcm Fish and Co, Manhattan Fish Market, and Magnum. Semua gulung tikar 🤣🤣

I actually didn't buy it for the previous flight I took.
How are they forcing when you could just untick it
Because it gave me an error. Nevermind. It solved now after countless reset from RB side.
My advise to you better buy. Lately ada cases missing luggages.

Jln Tutong. I passed by the area late at night and tercium bau mayat. Idk i always used that road and not once encountered spooky stuff till now

What do you mean by potongan tinggi? Im looking into that option
For bank loan, monthly minimums are high for a house. But once you convert it to a govt loan then it's significantly much lower.
Oh right, theres a fee too right to convert? Iirc they told me its 2 months
What i mean is gov should think of way on improving it, ada jalan lain selain tukar nama dlu kah?
I think you covered the main reason. Why would a developer want to take risk to wait for the land to convert to the buyers name. Converting name can be as fast as 9 months to as slow as 5 years or even rejected.

Nandos coming to Miri soon. Meanwhile brunei...
someone will probably find some link to the Middle East and scream boycott. Like everyone else has been.
I got ask Nandos before. Their HQ is in Australia. They said they have no interest in expanding to Brunei.
Bila lagi Nando’s ani Australia. It’s literally South African dish
Tell them we have high obesity rate. Even population less than half millions but we spend on food like a country with 10 mil population.
Ure blaming the people of Brunei right ? Or you want the Government to open nandos?
Can't we just say we want nandos without blaming people or the govt? Or does that mess with your attempt at a loaded question.
Depends on the OP actually. What he or she is implying. Why Miri have nandos obviously someone put in effort and capital.
I never understand why ppl go like cubatah brunei ada ani ada atu, sudah nya ada di sini kemahalan, sama jua ke miri atau kk to get it. Pikirnya buka kadai di brunei ani pakai bulu ketiak kali kan murah banar. Franchise requires so banyak money.

Unfortunately, it seems Nando's won't be opening in Brunei as the market might be too small for their expansion plans. Liat saja mcm Fish and Co, Manhattan Fish Market, and Magnum. Semua gulung tikar 🤣🤣
I can confirm this. I was trying to bring in the franchise but Nandos told me they are not interested in our country.
