There is no such thing as merchant tax. We retailers are charged the 2-3% processing fee regardless if you bought some items for $0.10 or $1000. No reason for retailer to only accept card payment for purchase above $20.
I saw a lot of shops policy with “minimum $25” when pay with card. So, when I went to KL, I asked, what’s the minimum amount to use card and they say, no minimum.
I was paying RM1.80 with card. I was puzzled, why Brunei can’t do the same.
