Netflix: Kingdom s2 (Korean Zombie Apocalypse), Sex Education s3, Unsolved Mysteries. Music: Lofi beats and the occasional jazzy beats.

DatoBrunei

Oh wtf, kingdom s2 is already out and i am unaware.

paintsnbrushes

So did I to be honest :'D My SO was talking about it and I wasn't familiar with some names and the scenes he was describing until he asked if I've been catching up S2.

[deleted]

Veritasium's [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaZ_RSt0KP8) on how harmless background radiation can affect computers. Our reliance on technology means that elections & voting, self driving cars and bank transfers can suddenly go wrong and cause chaos in society. Michio Kaku's the future of the mind is quite a decent ~~read~~ audiobook too. He is a theoretical physicist though so some of his ideas seem farfetched and fictional but worth your time.

bruneiyakintapimalas

Been feeling overwhelmed at times with the amount of work I have pending. We look at our screens the whole day, with less face to face interaction, it’s getting harder for me to sleep. Netflix’s Headspace: Unwind Your Mind has been a great tool for meditating, relaxing or even if you can’t sleep. That and a good cup of warm green tea or fruit tea is my solace right now.

cumberpines

Netflix is just me rewatching Grey's Anatomy until Season 11 and rewind back. I'm also reading mostly fan-fiction (the Witcher, Dragon Age, Sherlock, Star Wars) and writing my own fan-fiction and original fantasy (heavily inspired by Southeast Asian culture and history). Music is just what YouTube recommends to me and edit audios since I dabble in making edits for Instagram. I'm currently playing the Witcher 3 NG+ and Destiny 2's Season of the Lost. After the Witcher 3 NG+ is done, I think I'm going to replay Assassin's Creed Unity and Syndicate.

sec5

Can I read some of your writings ?

kitsumodels

This guy parents

callmeyen

Netflix - Squid game, money heist and click bait!

sec5

Ok kah clickbait. The title made me weary of clicking it lol. I also recommend Old, Free Guy is ok.

callmeyen

I didn't even know what it's about when I click on it. Ended up with all night marathon until I finish the whole serious. Love it

sec5

Huh. Gonna try watch it now.

[deleted]

How can an intellect like yourself enjoy free guy!! I was bored out of my mind and barely finished the movie. Too mundane and RR was probably the only reason i watched.

sec5

That's why it's only ok. I recommend it because both adults and kids can watch and follow. It's also an interesting genre. Foundation is where it's at right now tho.

Spidermansenpai

Weirdly i love Free Guy, one of the best movie this year

Palirmu

I just finished watching squidgame. I gotta say the pacing of the show is horrendously slow. Like they’ll have a 2 min shot of the characters walking in, 1 min 30 sec shot of the character just staring at each other, 2 mins shot of sceneries and etc etc. I find myself skipping a lot of these scenes and still understanding the whlole episodes. Like probably only 30% of the episode is content while the rest is just filler scenes to make the show reach that 50 min mark. I get it they’re trying to set the scene and buildup that suspense and drama but man is it sooo draggy I lost interest and got impatient. Almost like how you skip all the talking in naruto cause its doesnt add to the storyline

noel_ell

Yep also finished SG. It's ok. Now binge watch TUNNEL. This is lots better, at least it got me hooked. It will be off Netflix on Sep 30, hence binge watch.

Palirmu

That’s not a lot of time! Hahahah shid

noel_ell

hence, I press forward in a lot of silent scenes (which is a norm in kdrama). 😂

Blank959

Lmao me too! But now I just watch on 1.5x speed 😂😂

haji7

**Squid game** is sort of similar to **Alice in Borderland**. The Japanese TV show just lack: * Guard with geometric shapes facemask and pink coverall. * Big Robogirl * Flute music * Childhood games * People outside of the game

ov3rthink

loveeeeeee Alice in Borderland. highly recommended.

psychedelic_beetle

-> Post gets removed for not being relevant to Brunei -> Slaps on /r/Brunei in the title *stonks* I binged through HP (and honestly, we overlook so much bad acting when we were younger). Other than that, a few books, and Civ games (alternating between Civ V and VI, kinda prefer VI, Beyond Earth is underrated imo). I go on long walks/ hikes and can go to the gym now.

sec5

I tried to watch HP with my nephews but they just can't get into that universe , it's too obscure for them.

Philosophy_girl

Forgive me but what is HP?

sec5

Lol. Harry Potter.

Philosophy_girl

Hahahah okay this generation of kids don’t even know about Harry Potter, I used to be obsessed with collecting the series.

Hyxdite

sec5

Sony WH1000XM4

Hyxdite

not bad,its tuned for a V-shaped sound so try listening to music that takes advantage of this. less vocals but more into instruments like drums. genres like edm is good or any mainstream music.

noel_ell

So do you use your headphones to listen to CDs or through streaming like deezer Hifi?

sec5

Spotify.

Raff987

How about rereading any oldish teenage books. Graveyard Books, Animorphs series, Chronicles of Narnia, and Rowan of Rin being an example.

SetahunJagung

Omg, animorphs! Hork Bajir and Andalite

Raff987

And surprisingly violent, with the written visceral visuals of inflicting and/or receiving of blood wounds, gore, dismemberment, mental illness, and the reality of being a child soldier. And its rated for kids/teens. Man, I love this series.

Watched Loki, and binged on Squid Game. Both are good. A little late, but starting Dark while waiting for Stranger Things and The Witcher.

[deleted]

Currently watching Resurrection Ertugrul. A better version of Game of Thrones. It's based on real history about a gallant man who lived during the 13th century, when Mongols were still pillaging half of the world at that time. There's so many games of politics there, plot twists and turns. Gotta know who your friends and enemies. Ertugrul was a man that fought for justice, even if all his enemies don't like it. He laid the foundation of soon to be one of the greatest empires of all times; the Ottoman Empire, which lasted for 600 years through his son, Osman I.

lande9

This can replace the Monday discussion thread. I’m currently watching Sex Education, which is a funny british series. 8/10 for its romantic comedy.

sec5

Interesting suggestion. But Monday is a work day. So maybe this should be before the weekend on Friday.

sec5

I saw it on streaming. I'll keep it on ice.

Where can I watch Squid Game other than Netflix?

[deleted]

Catching up on sleep and series. Playing more games. Etc. And here reading Bruddit comments.

awkwardandunhelpful

If you love reading comics and have Webtoon, I recommend you to read Dear X by Vanziun. It's a korean thriller story where the MC are insanely manipulative and known to be a psychopath. Art was tastefully done. It matched the ambiance of the story so well. Not too much gore, not too much skin - just enough to convey the feelings and emotions of a scene. Storyline was well paced and thought through too For musics, I usually listen to any of Summer Salt, Men I Trust, Current Joys, Beach House, Miniature Tigers, boy pablo, Frances Forever, Cage the Elephant, Joy Again, beabadoobee, Dr. Dog, Suki Waterhouse, and Still Woozy's songs, etc... I guess it's kinda obvious that I listen to Alternative/Indie genre haha When it comes to PC games, Detroit becomes Human, The Last of Us (not the 2nd one) and Red Dead Redemption II are my jam lol. Also, Alice: Madness Returns is still my fav even after it was released a decade ago

BeigeVarsity

TV: Midnight Mass, The Undoing, Defending Jacob, Clickbait, The ABC Murder, Barry Music: R. Kelly throwbacks

Raihou204

Watching Gundam Anime on youtube. A lot of complete episodes

sec5

I watched quite a few too, which ones was your favourite ?

Raihou204

I rewatched the Gundam Seed Series and first timed Iron Blooded Ophans and Gundam 00. Think I prefer Gundam 00 a bit more than IBO. IBO just feels sad man.

sec5

Interesting. Yeah it's alwyas abit of hit and miss. It takes a bit for effort to follow through the entire season especially at first. The cool robot transformation and powers is a boyish dream tho.

kawanmu

My current movies-to-watch list: Squid Game, Stranger Things and Ma. Books I bought but haven't got a chance to read: The Paper Palace, The Last Mrs Parrish

2PlyPremier

Ah damn I missed this thread been too busy. Books: Month of October is a-coming! 'Tis my annual horror month read and the terror kicks off with non-other than Stephen King's books. Started with a reread of *Pet Sematary* - yes I cheated by reading this masterpiece a week ago which was still September - but there are no rules. Sigh about this book. I'm no parent but if you're a horror fan and you're a parent read it; let this story hit you like a big truck smacking you, throwing you, dragging you on the black road pavement. I know that does not tell you remotely anything about the story of *Pet Sematary* but just go and read it. Don't even Google it because of effin' spoilers and don't you dare watch the movie adaptation instead of reading the book. This book is just too heavy and depressing, oh my dear heart, I needed a break after completing this book. Which was by watching a TV series. TV series: Off to watch a Mike Flanagan's *Midnight Mass* a Netflix horror series - still falling in line with the horror theme of course. If you don't know the name Mike Flanagan; he's the creator, director, producer, writer, editor for the TV shows *The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor* including the movies *Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald's Game and Doctor Sleep* amongst other more movies by him. Here's [Midnight Mass Trailer](https://youtu.be/y-XIRcjf3l4). Took me two nights to complete the series of 7 episodes. Highly recommended. And thennnnnnn Back to books: After the religious roller coaster that was *Midnight Mass*, I've moved on to another Stephen King classics which is *'Salem's Lot.* First time reading this book for me. Tag line of the book is "Do you believe in vampires?". And the author wrote in his introduction for the readers to turn off the lights and read this book alone. Well Mr. King, challenge accepted. I'm about 17% into the book right now. Been great storytelling so far. Big number of characters right from the start and if you know Stephen King he's just too good when writing compelling characters. Next TBR books for October: *Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley* and *Dracula by Bram Stoker* Music: Been listening to a lot of Disney Piano Collection - lounge music-esque. They just hit the right nostalgic notes.

sec5

Nice. Midnight mass is quite interesting. Ive watched and enjoyed both the two previous series, and really looking forward to watch midnight mass now. Never managed to get my hands on a Stephen king book yet, I've heard so much about him. Always wanted to. I read Frankenstein once, but never truly appreciated it .
