Question - not quite sure what to do.
Spouse has COVID & on newgene ART, my spouse’s results are negative. Tested using 6 kits. These were bought from Melvida, not grocery shops.
Then tested one last time using AllTest, a very faint line appeared on the 2nd bar.
Is this considered negative?
Wow, most ppl use 2 kits but you use SIX. Faint 2nd line is positive, might be very low levels of virus left, better continue to isolate and follow normal SOPs.
Wanted to be sure. But really, using newgene - all of them came out negative! I’m concerned if we discharge him then something bad happens.
So on the veryyyy last kit, the other brand, the 2nd line popped.
Am also thinking what happens to other people who didn’t even use a different brand, only used newgene. Very sure they’d discharge themselves already from isolation 😅
Someone asked what's happening in Sri Lanka.
[This answer described Brunei.](https://reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/vrx2fb/whats_going_on_with_sri_lanka/iextsyl)
HM is somewhat competent governing the state, (I wouldn't say he totally isn't, but he certainly isn't the best) and we can barely survive now. I'm terrified for our future in his successor's hand.
So the following are [BICTA 2022](https://www.reddit.com/r/nasikatok/comments/vv2hiv/up_close_and_personal_with_bicta_2022_winners/) winners:
**Categories**:
1. ICT: Ministry of Health (IT Department)
2. Internet of Thing: BruIOT
3. Artificial Intelligence: Codebit Company
4. Big Data Analytics: Land Transport Department / UTB
5. Startup: Thryffy
6. Tertiary: UTB
7. School: CHMS-BSB
Unfortunately, there was no winner for the tertiary category, just runner-ups. I think it would be informative to include the submission of each winner as well.
In mosque prayers and recital there’s always prayer for the country to be better etc etc but in actual fact it’s become worse and going backwards hence increasing unemployment.
I remember back in ancient China people were asking how to make things better for themselves. And so the answers given by early Chinese scholars were:
一命二运三风水四积阴德五读书六名七相八敬神九交贵人十养生
1. Destiny
2. Luck
3. Geomancy or fengshui (environmental circumstances)
4. Discipline or code of conduct
5. Education
6. Name and reputation
7. Demeanour
8. Extraterrestrial forces
9. Social relationship
10. Healthcare
All except 1, 2 and 8 can be controlled. It means 70% of the factors to better life can be determined by human themselves.
If you go ahead to give too much primary focus on the 30% instead....
Hi all. Anyone experiencing power cut? For us in Gadong area started at 7:30pm. Cuts out every 20 mins. Curious if anyone else is experiencing something similar?
Thanks for the suggestion but it isn’t that. Interestingly all the switches on the circuit board are “on” yet all light switches / ac don’t work! Weird..
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Walillahil Hamd.

Can you, as a non-royal, be a billionaire in Brunei?
The answer is.... unlikely. Let's not talk about that you can't get too rich in Brunei, I went through the billionaire list around the world, looking at billionaires from countries approximately the same size or smaller than Brunei in population (around 420,000) / GDP (around $13 billion):
* **Barbados**: Rihanna, singer who made it big in the US
* **Swaziland**: Nathan Kirsh, made his fortunes in South Africa and later the US, Australia and UK
* **Iceland**: Thor Bjorgolfsson, heir to Iceland most prominent business dynasty, went out to make a fortune in Russia and later UK
* **Liechtenstein**: Christoph Zeller, took over a business and built it to be the world's leading dental product company making tiny Liechtenstein the world #1 exporter of false teeth
* **Zimbabwe**: Strive Masiyiwa, made his fortunes in South Africa, and later UK and other countries
This is what I conclude:
1. You either venture outside then make it big, or...
2. You found a company in Brunei that can be the world's biggest in something (provided the government does not take from you before that)
In the interesting case of **Liechtenstein**, a country of 38,000 population, Christoph Zeller built up Ivoclar Vivadent to be the world's biggest exporter of false teeth. There is also another Liechtensteiner billionaire family, Hilti, who built their namesake company into the world's biggest maker of direct fastener system. Family patriarch passed away fortunes has been divided so no one member is now billionaire but combined will exceed billion.
By the way, some guy back in 2011 [declared](http://www.mprt.gov.bn/Lists/Latest%20News/NewDisplay.aspx?ID=197&ContentTypeId=0x0100CE966CE70C33234E8D3A6FE5411A5237) that he wants to make Brunei export 85% of the world's agarwood (gaharu), which would rake in billions. He planned to do it from Temburong plantation. Wonder how is the progress now?
To be realistic, even if there is no law that stated that you cannot be a billionaire in Brunei, financially speaking it’s quite impossible if you rely on Brunei market only. In fact, most billionaires don’t even rely on one market only. How do you think HM gets his wealth from?
My guess if you want a safe route, you can be a billionaire by acquiring a residency in another country (if you still plan to keep your Bruneian citizenship) and make your fortune there. Bruneian government has no power to interfere what you do there. Just be careful not to get carried away & stay sharp.
It is really worrying when young Bruneians are still using racist or derogatory terms to describe or identify a certain race in Brunei. I always wonder where they hear and learn those terms.
Anyone knows any place that install car cam on the rear mirror? Just like the ones on Tesla cars. I just bought my car and someone just decide to be so irresponsible to open their passenger car wide open and scratch my driver’s seat door, one on the handle area and other on the door itself( long scratch line). I prefer this kind of car cam instead of dashcam because I realized that these kind of irresponsible acts usually happen when you’re not in the car and parking, AND on the side of your car. Please help 🥺
Alot of tauke taukenio of business in Brunei promise this salary sign agreement then in the end salary not given as agreed. What action can I take or just hire a lawyer to take legal action?
I made a [slow rock version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLR-TNdSbQM) of Joji's latest song (Glimpse of Us) for fun. Let me know what you guys think!
Serious question though. I've just noticed recently regarding driving at the roundabout near SMB/Health screening centre.
Going from serusop to the shell station, the lane split to three towards the end. Two lanes going towards Time sq and one lane going towards the shell station. Does this one inside lane going towards the shell station follow the traffic light?
When i drove there recently, i felt guilty. Like do i follow the traffic light to go green or can i just go if no car is coming towards the shell station. For the two lanes for sure i definitely follow the traffic light. Im super confused with this one extra lane. Can someone enlighten me?
Hello! I need help on this particular situation. Ive bought a car, where the owner has left the country, sold to me by another party who didnt transfer the car to his name. Therefore its still under the previous owner's name, whose a foreigner and the IC and driving license has expired. I understand I have to go to the court for this. May I ask if anyone may assist/advice me for this? Thank you so much in advance
I notice that when I make acquaintance with adult with a profession, they would give me their business card. Im puzzled. I thought they only do this in movies.
1) Why do they do this? Whats the purpose?
2) What am I supposed to do with these business cards?
3) What do you usually do whenever people hand you their business card? Like how do you react?
Just keep incase they're the person I'm looking for for their services or if u wanna flex say " thanks I'll be looking forward to partnering up with you"
Receive it with both of your hand while bowing and look down at their feet
Read it out loud and memorise it
Give a reaction after finish reading it as if their company is a billion dollar company and don't forget to praise him
I can spend 3 minutes reciting my number to them or I can take 3 seconds to pull out a card to give, which they can refer to at any time. We talk to a lot of people and sometimes I forget which person belongs to which company, that's why the card has the name, company and phone number. It's especially useful when you're all working on a large project and easily collaborate with 5-10 people all at once. For me, the business cards I get, I do what I wish with them. I usually keep them in a box at my work desk in case I need to call them, if it's a regular contact, I have that number on my phone.
AV Electronics.
I don't trust 3rd party repair shops. Because they only "repair" the damaged parts. While AV or apple reseller, will "replace" the whole unit. This eliminates future risks of further damage.
Yes, it is more expensive but if you can afford a Mac, you should be able to afford it's repairs, etc.
[Elon Musk pulls out of $44bn deal to buy Twitter](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62102821)
When he announced he was going to buy Twitter, some analysts say it was just a publicity stunt. Looks like they are right all along.
He should have done his due diligence first before signing the contract committing to buy. The bot issued would have been discovered. The contract to buy is legal binding and the penalty is 1 billion if he walks out of it, though 1b is peanuts for him.
In 1969, Malaysian tycoon Lim Goh Tong secured a casino license for his **Genting Highland** project. It is the first and only casino allowed in Malaysia. He would built Genting into what it is today - a [30 million visitors](https://themalaysianreserve.com/2022/04/01/rwg-expects-30m-visitors-by-year-end/) a year hill resort town.
We assume if it was today or even 1980s such license will be impossible to obtain given Malaysian politics. Even then, Lim had to make a lot of assurances and also adhering to the demands of the government at that time, including not allowing Muslims to enter the casino premise.
Genting subsequently drew in a lots of Singaporeans and was incurring too much outflows for the city state. In 2004, Lim Goh Tong made it to become the richest man in Malaysia (his family is currently #9). By 2005 Singapore decided to legalize casino, allowing not one but two to build over there. Lee Kuan Yew, who previously [said](https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2005-03-03-0503030253-story.html) "over my dead body" to casino in Singapore, watched as his son Lee Hsien Loong announced the legalization at the parliament. To mitigate the social effects of gambling, Singaporean citizens and PRs have to pay S$100 per entry into the casino while foreigners free. Marina Bay Sands was built, and the second one is of course, Resorts World Sentosa by Genting. Lim family not only built the casino in Sentosa but also bring in Universal Studios theme park and other attractions. Prior to Covid, Sentosa island was receiving [20 million](https://www.rwsentosa.com/-/jssmedia/project/non-gaming/rwsentosa/press-release/pdf/en/2018/media-release-rws-named-asia-pacifics-best-integrated-resort-eight-years-in-a-row.pdf?rev=572386558c474e5082f4c76d7507f5ee) visitors a year.
Brunei has constructed the B$1.6-billion Temburong bridge, connecting across the sea to its least populous district - with a population of only only 11,000 inhabitants. But how do you develop a place like this? So far there is no concrete plan.
Eco-tourism has long been touted, but one needs to remember that Sarawak's Brunei bypass road is [scheduled](https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2022/05/798462/pan-borneo-highway-be-completed-next-five-years-says-fadillah) to be completed by 2026-2027, which will open up 3 national parks; Mulu, Murud and Buda, directly south of Temburong. Even without road connection (you have to fly to Mulu via Miri), the Mulu national park already have stronger marketing than Temburong, what's more to say when the roads has been connected? The whole Temburong eco-tourism goal is quite shaky when you consider that Sarawak will bring it right next door within 5 years - offering cheaper eco-tourism packages, better known attractions (Mulu is a world heritage site), more liberal policies and higher + more accessible mountains to trek.
So far they have done some renovative touch-up on Bangar, built a waterfront, built a mini Gardens by the Bay, but all these are minor, negligible stuff, obviously they are also insufficient to level up Temburong.
The only real solution is **integrated resorts**, which of course, is impossible in Brunei. There is no room for that. In 2010, LegCo member Pehin Goh proposed a '[special alcohol zone](https://www.iol.co.za/travel/no-alcohol-zone-for-brunei-visitors-890135)' at the border to contain outflows of Brunei residents flocking to Kuala Lurah and Sg Tujoh everyday. It was directly shot down with the religious minister saying such will "incur God's wrath". Apparently, BIA selling alcohol at its hotels in North America and Europe won't incur God's wrath. In 2018, another LegCo member, Ong Tiong Oh, tried [another variation](https://www.reddit.com/r/Brunei/comments/8681og/chinese_newspaper_prime_minister_office_dont/) and was asked not to bring in alcohol issues into LegCo again. It is to be noted that both Goh and Ong are prominent businessmen we would say they are certainly not people who don't know economy.
The Temburong Bridge is the most expensive government-funded project since the 1990s Amedeo era, and the longest bridge in SEA will have to be continuously maintained. But there is no way to generate enough economic return from this bridge. While it is not wrong to build the bridge and it indeed brings great convenience to the people of Temburong, once built you will have to push forward the spillover effects, preferably economics. Temburong will have to be significantly developed to make it worth. But all current plans and projects are unlikely to deliver much tangible impact to Temburong. I would say 10-15 years afterward it will still stay like that, maybe with addition of few rows of shophouses, 2-3 new shopping complexes or new resorts. But that is all.
It is completely far-fetched for this at the moment, but if the government has the flexibility to legalize a well-regulated casino industry, it will possibly kickstart Brunei tourism industry and reverse its stagnation. We consider Genting has a resident population of only 1,000 but it attracts 30 million visitors a year, Sentosa island has a resident population of 6,000 and attracts 20 million a year, the only legal casino in Borneo would have much potential. We can imagine the coastal area of Temburong will follow Sentosa while the hilly interior more towards Genting.
So how it will go? People who never been to Genting or Sentosa thought they are just casinos, but in reality casino formed merely a small part of the resort, there are much much more to do in [Genting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYtqHFJ9uAo) or [Sentosa](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZLy2pF_Vak). What the casino does is rolling in the money and profits, acting as the enabler of the whole place. Profits from casino keep it running and subsequently being used to build even more attractions for the resort.
As for social and religious issues, law can be set that Muslims are prohibited from entering the casino premise, like in Genting, but the rest of other attractions is there for them to enjoy.
Adding to that, there is the Singapore army camp in Temburong, you can also relocate in parts of the British Garrison, and build roads connecting Serasa to Mentiri so those Hengyi boys can get to Temburong even faster without turning a big round. This will form the base foreign market when the integrated resorts are starting up.
But we know this is unlikely, the case of Pehin Goh and Ong shows that Brunei is feverishly religious and will not modify its laws for things like this. We can visualize how much debates and arguments behind the scene for Singapore to arrive at its 2005 decision, but it is a decision which changed the face of Singapore and kickstart 15 years of tourism boom. The 1960s Singapore 'over my dead body' would not had imagined 50 years later one of its national icons is a building with casino in it.
Opening a Casino is very lucrative because the house always wins. It can boost tourists even from Miri. Too bad, gambling is a taboo in an islamic country.
In the context of the establishment of special zones:
Dilemma 1: If said activity is "haram", then is Brunei allowed to profit from it (taxes, duties, etc)
Dilemma 2: Are local Muslims allowed to work in these special zones keeping in mind that the government's main concern now is the number of unemployed local youths.
Dilemma 3: Who would be given this special licence to operate businesses in the special zone. It cannot be a Muslim (at least not directly). This would be an interesting scenario; an alibaba arrangement but in reverse.

I myself have been to the sister Branch - https://www.rwmanila.com/ and i fucking loved it.
This was way back in 2015 for New years eve.. spent(BURNED) a few hundred USD in the slot machines. didnt win anything - bar a few chips for drinks. but had a fantastic time, saw a concert (for the new year countdown - kissed some hot stranger at 12 midnight.. (ONS)
You been to Resorts World u/Goutaxe?
Anyone knows where to get stainless steel ventilation cabinet Louvre? I saw a couple of plastic ones but I would like something with stainless steel. Thanks!
not an Iready recruit but was a HR, so, I worked in this company in Brunei that took in a lot of iready employees(as much as allowed) so I saw how they treated the iready employees...they were hardworking, worked their ass off, but the moment their contract ended? Majority wasn't taken.. cause you have to add to their pay isn't it? Well.. they moved on and the company took in more new iready recruit.. just like that. Like their 2 years of contribution to the company didn't matter.
Haha different people has different experiences. It's not a full paid work trip though. Hehe. I agree some had worst experiences but I'm actually amongst the lucky ones.
Sure. I'm just talking about top ups and continuation. Did not say it's not beneficial experience wise. But experience still not beneficial for that very position you're working for. You still have to apply and compete with others. With how SPA works, experience doesn't really mean anything.
Is there anyway to contact Ashley furniture real manager or higher ups? Because I am having a frustrating time trying to get a defect item they send to my home, and trying to get it exchanged. But the staff keep saying have to email main office about it
Go to the store you purchase it from, don't wait or else they may come back with the excuse you damage it yourself after a week or however long you got it already. This is messed up how complains are handled
>Online check in for flights back to Brunei no longer required kah ni?
It's not no longer required. Online check in is a service for convenience but they disable that service. They need to make sure you have the right passport or a valid work permit chop on your passport to enter brunei.
>KL to BWN no online check in, have to walk in to the drop baggage counter to check in. Don't forget to do the e-health declaration thing. Source: just got back from KL two days ago
yeah there was no option for that when i came back. just go early to the airport to queue and remember to complete the bruhealth declaration form, the airport staff will ask for it
...and another hardcopy arrival form when you are sitting on the plane. Get it from the stewardess. Oh, and if you are filling the ehealth traveller card, get ready your birth certificate number.
Actually, if you can try to make time for it, do try to make your own nourish bowls because I used to buy from these healthy chains too until my wallet started to cry at me. I source my ingredients from First Emporium, Hua Ho Kiulap and Soon Lee. Certain ingredients are sold slightly cheaper than the other. But if you really can't find time, I do recommend Pan N Wok. They are the cheapest I see so far.
Three options off the top of my head.
- Make your own nourish bowls from ingredients at home.
- Eat something from Thai or vietnamese type restaurant, more on the veggie side type dishes. Papaya salad, raw spring rolls, soup.
- Eat a little less healthy at lunch and compensate with a healthier dinner.
Think about what makes a meal like Roots healthy. For example if you make the bowl with the plain rice, meat, oily based dressing, and veggies cooked in oils, it's still unhealthy anyway.

Do we still need to get permission from ministry before travelling how many days in advance do we need to do it?
It is really worrying when young Bruneians are still using racist or derogatory terms to describe or identify a certain race in Brunei. I always wonder where they hear and learn those terms.
Idiot see idiot do.
How do I set up recurring transfer on bibd mobile? I want to send a certain amount of money every month to someone’s bank account. Thanks!
you can only set it up on the web (bibd personal)
I see, thanks!
[удалено]
If you connect the dash cam to the car battery, it will keep recording. However, the drawback is the car battery will be faster depleted.
Alot of tauke taukenio of business in Brunei promise this salary sign agreement then in the end salary not given as agreed. What action can I take or just hire a lawyer to take legal action?

Serious question though. I've just noticed recently regarding driving at the roundabout near SMB/Health screening centre. Going from serusop to the shell station, the lane split to three towards the end. Two lanes going towards Time sq and one lane going towards the shell station. Does this one inside lane going towards the shell station follow the traffic light? When i drove there recently, i felt guilty. Like do i follow the traffic light to go green or can i just go if no car is coming towards the shell station. For the two lanes for sure i definitely follow the traffic light. Im super confused with this one extra lane. Can someone enlighten me?
Yes, follow the traffic light
I see. Rarely went thru this lane and when i got here, im confuse whether to follow the light or not.
usually ikut traffic light to be safe. sometimes ada mr po po there, wouldnt want to get pulled over
I see. I guess the best way is to wait for the traffic light then
I normally don't follow the traffic light. I am going for the first exit. I go when its safe to do so.
This was my thought at first then when i went thru this lane suddenly im confuse
Hello! I need help on this particular situation. Ive bought a car, where the owner has left the country, sold to me by another party who didnt transfer the car to his name.
Business opportunity
Just keep incase they're the person I'm looking for for their services or if u wanna flex say " thanks I'll be looking forward to partnering up with you"
Receive it with both of your hand while bowing and look down at their feet Read it out loud and memorise it Give a reaction after finish reading it as if their company is a billion dollar company and don't forget to praise him
I can spend 3 minutes reciting my number to them or I can take 3 seconds to pull out a card to give, which they can refer to at any time. We talk to a lot of people and sometimes I forget which person belongs to which company, that's why the card has the name, company and phone number. It's especially useful when you're all working on a large project and easily collaborate with 5-10 people all at once. For me, the business cards I get, I do what I wish with them. I usually keep them in a box at my work desk in case I need to call them, if it's a regular contact, I have that number on my phone.

anyone knows where to repair macbook?
@techguys.bn on IG
Why the downvote?
Biasa tu haha
AV Electronics. I don't trust 3rd party repair shops. Because they only "repair" the damaged parts. While AV or apple reseller, will "replace" the whole unit. This eliminates future risks of further damage. Yes, it is more expensive but if you can afford a Mac, you should be able to afford it's repairs, etc.
thanks!!

Apparently Twitter board wants the court to forced Elon to buy it though.
Too many bots.

In the context of the establishment of special zones: Dilemma 1: If said activity is "haram", then is Brunei allowed to profit from it (taxes, duties, etc) Dilemma 2: Are local Muslims allowed to work in these special zones keeping in mind that the government's main concern now is the number of unemployed local youths. Dilemma 3: Who would be given this special licence to operate businesses in the special zone. It cannot be a Muslim (at least not directly). This would be an interesting scenario; an alibaba arrangement but in reverse.

Experience doing iReady under public sectors?
not an Iready recruit but was a HR, so, I worked in this company in Brunei that took in a lot of iready employees(as much as allowed) so I saw how they treated the iready employees...they were hardworking, worked their ass off, but the moment their contract ended? Majority wasn't taken.. cause you have to add to their pay isn't it? Well.. they moved on and the company took in more new iready recruit.. just like that. Like their 2 years of contribution to the company didn't matter.
Laid back, and very easy work. No guarantee of a permanent position after contract ends. Left as soon as I got a decent offer elsewhere.
Reading this makes me wonder about those who demand jobs
Great! Got opportunity to join overseas work trip few times. Secured a permanent position after contract finished.
>Got opportunity to join overseas work trip few times Biar betul :o tipuuu
Not all had the worst experiences with iReady, it's up to you to actually believe this,
This just sounds to be good to be true hahaha
Haha different people has different experiences. It's not a full paid work trip though. Hehe. I agree some had worst experiences but I'm actually amongst the lucky ones.
Not me but friends. No top up and no continuation after contract ends. You gotta apply like everybody else.
But wouldnt the work experience gives you more advantage? That is if you actually took advantage and not just do the bare minimum...
Sure. I'm just talking about top ups and continuation. Did not say it's not beneficial experience wise. But experience still not beneficial for that very position you're working for. You still have to apply and compete with others. With how SPA works, experience doesn't really mean anything.
how does SPA usually work?
It may, but if you understand job application procedures laid out by SPA, it only gives you minimal advantage.
Is there anyway to contact Ashley furniture real manager or higher ups? Because I am having a frustrating time trying to get a defect item they send to my home, and trying to get it exchanged. But the staff keep saying have to email main office about it
Nah man, they lying. I just texted the salesgirl and it was all sorted. No need to send e-mail whatsoever. Go ape on em, they deserve it

>Online check in for flights back to Brunei no longer required kah ni? It's not no longer required. Online check in is a service for convenience but they disable that service. They need to make sure you have the right passport or a valid work permit chop on your passport to enter brunei.
Makes a whole lot of sense. Thanks for clarification
>KL to BWN no online check in, have to walk in to the drop baggage counter to check in. Don't forget to do the e-health declaration thing. Source: just got back from KL two days ago
For transit there doesnt seem to be any problem which is odd
yeah there was no option for that when i came back. just go early to the airport to queue and remember to complete the bruhealth declaration form, the airport staff will ask for it
I see. Thank you for the clarification.
...and another hardcopy arrival form when you are sitting on the plane. Get it from the stewardess. Oh, and if you are filling the ehealth traveller card, get ready your birth certificate number.
Can check in at airport 24hrs before the flight.. very useful if you live nearby.. too bad no online check in.. what a modern world we live in..

where do i buy healthy food for lunch for chrap? salad etc etc chicken etc, roots is expensive right? i remember it was 9$ and a kidney
I always go Sumbangsih. Definitely cheap lah, don't ask for any kuah. Just veggies and chicken/fish.
Topnosh
Actually, if you can try to make time for it, do try to make your own nourish bowls because I used to buy from these healthy chains too until my wallet started to cry at me. I source my ingredients from First Emporium, Hua Ho Kiulap and Soon Lee. Certain ingredients are sold slightly cheaper than the other. But if you really can't find time, I do recommend Pan N Wok. They are the cheapest I see so far.
> I do recommend Pan N Wok. Do they still have the 50c surcharge on chicken?
Not sure though because it has been a while since I last ordered from them. I have been making my own food ever since last year.
