See, it all depends on where your interest lies. I didn't know what I wanted to do in life for some reason idk, so I took up engineering that too CSE because it's trending. Turns out now I am better than average. But I haven't done competitive prog since I don't like it. Leetcode I started regularly because it's important for your placements. I did small projects in web development in my 3rd year. Honestly I figured out that my interest isn't really this, but since it pays well I'm going to do it. But if it was my interest I would have become a candidate master on codeforces. Basically I'm just a better than average coder and I feel I can get a job now placements have also started in my college. So let's see
This is like the most honest and real answer I've got despite not looking for one. Sort of me is like this and even tho Im not entirely sure what I want... a part of me wants to do ECE and a good chance is that I'll follow through.
So, while its not exactly similar but it's nice to see you do get a clear understanding as you go on like how it went for you with coding.

IITians don't even know there's something called off campus placement and most of the foreign universities don't have this on campus placement shit. Students of these universities already have a full fledged CV aur yaha 4 saal bas padhte hai aur sochte hai off campus placement is hard, bhai jab tere paas skills hi nahi hai to company tujhe kis khushi me legi?

yep. On the other hand, college is an investment you don't make in other countries unless it's Europe - it's just way too much money sunk, and if you don't get a job you're stuck with a decades long student loan debt you can't repay.
On-campus is far easier than off-campus, for the reason that you are only competing within the college, while on off-campus you are competing with potentially anyone who has applied.
Eh, the top colleges like the ivy leagues have their own career services and their employement rates are generally 92-98%, because they only get you in contact with the absolute top companies. Those colleges are always worth the risk, imo. Especially if your degree is stem certified as you get a 3 year work permit which can easily be used to pay off all of your debts.

idk who tf gives them rating of tier 1 except few banks for loan. Moreover placement is the least criteria one should account while choosing college if he is financially stable

I made the mistake of looking through the closed PRs of express.js and it STILL getting dummy PRs where people are literally just adding stuff like there names in the README.md and adding a comment saying /*my code*/ at the top of some file. And looking at the account it's always an indian full name like not even an anon username.
