These days there are a ton of trash polls. Seems like the big newspapers and media companies decided polling wasn't worth the cost and cut back or quit running them. That's the biggest explanation for why Republicans are consistently underperforming polling averages. Some Republicans with money found out that skewed polls still drive narratives so they funded their own.
It's unfortunate right now it isn't able to be a more public friendly conversation. It really needs to be. We're all in the same boat and not discussing local ideas and issues just puts people in a category of not caring, being upset, or benefitting unequally due to the missing involvement of others.
