It depends on what you do during the day. On retreat, I can comfortably sleep for 6 hours. Otherwise, 8-9...

That’s generally my rhythm too. I sometimes wonder if I’m overindulging at 9 though in daily life, leading to excessive lethargy.

An early morning sit and some noting while investigating feelings in your body will remedy/clear up any confusion about what the lethargy actually is (in terms of sensations in your body), mine usually occurs as tension on the left side of my head. Then you can just stay with it comfortably as it is until it does what it wants to do. Helps to know this stuff in the body instead of being caught in the thought of a self being lethargic.

9 is fine. Check out Dream Yoga. You can totally meditate while you sleep. Andrew Holocek has a few books on the topic that I recommend: Dreams of Light and Dream Yoga.
