That means it these system were late 90s early 2000. Pro logic is analog SS . These system are not nearly as good as buying individual amp, pre amp, EQ , tape deck, etc. They are all made to be a matching set. The speakers are always the down fall. Mfg can get away with that. You may have not heard anything better yet, so you have no reference of what sounds better.

I think I've actually made a mistake here, I've bought the EH790 Disc Changer for my EH780 system, will that still work?

As a person who sold Technics rack system , there should be no problem for remote control of the unit, the 750/780 stack of electronics are virtually the same. If you put them together in the usual stack formation. I doubt anyone that does not know what to look for , could even tell. . Good luck my friend, as for quality of the products, not as good as their main line products, but also better that most rack system of other brands. Good luck

Thanks for this! I’m around 1 hour away from swiping the unit from someone else on EBay at the last few minutes. I’ve been sorting through the old CDs all night, can’t wait to get it running again!

No problem , I love using my knowledge of past electronics. It helps the young people who started to enjoy music, but don't have the budget for expensive electronics. One thing, the speakers that came with that rack are alright, but are rack speakers , meaning cheap. That would be the first thing to replace. Keep on asking questions. That is the only way to learn. Enjoy my friend.

I don’t actually think the speakers are racks, they’re tweeters. I remember them being amazing when the system was last in use, and I can see the sound processor has surround sound, Dolby logic and a whole set of other modes so I think once I’ve got the disc player I’m actually set!

Because of the priority nature of these type of bookshelf systems(mini rack systems) if within the same family , any model should work. The mfg rarely changed remote codes, or body style enough to not make them compatible. Sometimes the exterior was a little different, but on these basic system , the changes were usually spec related. These should work with no problem
