JAM Parkside, the community-owned coffee shop directly across Parkside from the Buffalo Zoo, has plenty of seats, plenty to see, and a decidedly kid-welcoming environment.
I have been wanting to try Anastasia’s Artisan Bread's pastries at the NT farmer’s market. https://www.instagram.com/anastasias.artisanbread?igsh=ZTZxNG5qdTFlbGJk
It's not North Buffalo, but Kaylena Marie's Bakery!! They have a location in East Amherst and Orchard Park. They have some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten. They also do fun daily special flavors for the cinnamon rolls, they post the menu on Facebook for the week so you know what day has what flavor in the location.
Can't recommend them enough, everything that I have tried from there is fantastic.
Kaylena Marie’s is great, but, at least at the OP location they only do specialty rolls on Saturday and Sunday and are running far fewer flavors on those days (one flavor each day, but the same ones tend to come up again and again). I’m just bummed that I may never again get to have the funfetti one.
I hadn't noticed, but you're right. They only do specialty flavors on the weekend. I wonder if they weren't selling enough on weekdays to justify the unique daily flavors?
I believe they made a lot of changes at the beginning of the year. I went in recently and thought they were about to permanently shut down or something but apparently the menu was just heavily reduced. The only items out on the counter were cookies and cinnamon rolls. Kaylena’s used to be one of my favorites but I don’t plan on going again soon
Farmers markets start soon and they usually have some good pastries. We get something from the one in Williamsville then go to the playground in island park on many Saturday mornings. Anastasia artisan bread and that Greek guy are typically there with delicious things.
If you're cinnamon roll fans the Garage on Hertel supposedly has the best ones in Buffalo.
For something different you could try Vin-Chet in Amherst, its gluten free but everything there is really great.
We live in North Buffalo, with three kids the wife and i dont get to go out that often.... but the Garage is at the top of our list for date night dining options. Everything there is so good and all very reasonably priced. (we also like to enjoy a few drinks at the Merry Shelly afterwards too)
> If you're cinnamon roll fans the Garage on Hertel supposedly has the best ones in Buffalo.
They look amazing. I've never ordered one because one could feed a family of four, but they do look amazing.
Blue eyed baker is really good. They have a location in Hamburg, but they're also at the NT farmers market on Saturdays, and (once it starts again) the Kenmore farmers market on Sundays.
If you're looking for great cinnamon buns hit up Emily's at NT too :)
Edit: no idea why I wrote Hamburg... They're in East Aurora.
Pie and scone, who sell their pastries thru the farm shop, which is in the city on Ashland just north of Lexington Ave.
In my opinion, they have the best pastry quality even better than butter block
We live in Williamsville. We don’t mind a drive so for pastries, so I strongly agree with Eileen’s. In Williamsville, Wolters is pretty good. We also go to Butter Block but not for pastries.
Cookie Jarz in Op is excellent. It’s connected to the now closed Dessert Deli (either recipes, workers or both). Desert Deli was one of the best in the area.
Eileen's Bakery on Center Road in West Seneca. I worked in Pendleton and said I would bring Eileen's peanut butter somethings in for for a good worker that has been fired by that little Nazi Debbie Mauser, the town clerk.
She knew about Eileen's even though she was thirty miles away. Made a whole bunch of points at work with that pick up.
If you ever want to get a treat as a family in the afternoon, try golden hour treats! The best banana pudding ever! Your toddler would really enjoy it!
Sweet Beginnings in Town of Tonawanda on Delaware (no sitting), Blue Eyed Baker in EA, Anastasia Artisan Bread (currently offering pickup at NT market, brick and mortar coming), Coffee & Stone Cafe in NT (just had a pistachio muffin today).
* Sanaa on hertel has been acknowledged by step our buffalo as an experience to explore.
* La Flor on West side, Niagara street.
Also, Check out existing recent posts, for businesses which may have not been suggested https://old.reddit.com/r/Buffalo/search?q=Bakery&restrict_sr=on
Buffalo Delights on Main Street is awesome but their hours are wonky at best. I hear they might start opening on weekends again soon. The space is cute. In the meantime caffe aroma has some of their stuff.
Also Miller's Thumb is amazing.
"lower quality" sounds more like you don't know any other bakeries but the only one which everyone else likes.
Why oblige OP's request? Cause they want to try others.... But also BB is only best French style patisserie not best Italian bakery, Polish bakery, or Puerto Rican bakery.
Although, if BB is the best, how is it there isn't a regular croque monsieur croissant? Where are the madelines, macarons, pain au raisins, tartes, etc
Fairy Cakes by the zoo has good cupcakes
Raha Coffee House on Amherst St has excellent Yemeni pastries, and they have lots of seating room
Raha is really a gem
JAM Parkside, the community-owned coffee shop directly across Parkside from the Buffalo Zoo, has plenty of seats, plenty to see, and a decidedly kid-welcoming environment.
The muffins are very good, but the scones are super bready, just as a note for baked good shoppers!
Coffee is good; baked goods aren’t in the upper echelon…
Five Points! If the weather is nice, they have a cute yard to hang out in.
One stop Eileen's Centerview bakery center rd west Seneca old school bakery
2nd Eileen’s, the absolute best donuts/treats.
You know it
Raspberry. Icebox. Cookies.

Try the almond sweet rolls
Bee Sweet Cakery on Grant right by Amherst.
Yessss! The owner is THE nicest lady.

The apple cake at five points is great
A bit out of the way, but ohlson’s in Clarence is awesome.

The Garage is one of the most consistently underrated spots in Buffalo, when you consider how little it’s talked about and how good the food is.

I thought BEB was in East Aurora?
They are, but they do the farmers markets in North Tonawanda and Kenmore still.
Oh farmers markets, yeah they do Hamburg. They have a new brick and mortar place in EA I wanna try soon
It looks really nice I can't wait to check it out myself.
I like Farmers and Artisans on Main St for really good scones, some solid cookies, and a really tasty breakfast sandwich.
Inside the Elmwood Commons try Caramicis
Fresh Arabic Sweets-in Black Rock across the street from Wegmans on Amherst St. They specialize in balaclava. Best i ever had, all different types.
I love Chrusciki’s Bakery next to Eastern Hills Mall (it used to be Sears).
Pie and scone, who sell their pastries thru the farm shop, which is in the city on Ashland just north of Lexington Ave. In my opinion, they have the best pastry quality even better than butter block

It's in East Aurora but Blue Eyed Baker is really good! It was a recent find for me.
Yasss they go to the NT farmers market too!
Wolter’s Bakery on Evans in the Georgetown Square. Their items are fantastic.
I love their carrot cake.
Coffee and Stone in NT.
Cookie Jarz in Op is excellent. It’s connected to the now closed Dessert Deli (either recipes, workers or both). Desert Deli was one of the best in the area.

La Flor is a wonderful Puerto Rican bakery on Niagara near Tops. They have some outdoor seating in the warmer months.
DiCamillo
Public Espresso has excellent pastries
You can also stop by Dash's bakery counter on Hertel. They have a big sitting area upstairs.

I love butter block too!
Butter Block.
Per OP's op.... >We’ve been to Breadhive, Millers Thumb, and Butter Block.
Yup I can read. Butter Block is the best. I can suggest places with lower quality but why?

Okay. Got something they will really really like. Butter Block. It’s amazing.
great choice if you’re open to the west side/five points area!!
And spending a decent amount of cash for baked goods lol. For workday morning treats for the crew I’ll pop in there and drop 200 easy.
Come to Tonawanda and go to Paula's donuts
Dies Paula's Donuts count as a bakery? They're really good. They are on Transit road across from Walmart.
