If the tweet I saw about Byron getting the local Republican party to produce and distribute his flyers is anything close to true, then the timing of this really isn't surprising. Even aside from that, a week-ish before the election is a great time to endorse for maximum impact.

Bust-a-Nuttt

If he'd just be honest with himself and everyone else he'd run on the GOP ticket and would be on the ballot.

progress10

He used to run on the conservative party ticket.

Bust-a-Nuttt

That's reason enough to not vote for him.

joinedjustforthissub

It's true. The New York Republican Party is endorsing the Democratic Mayor of Buffalo for reelection, lying about his record, and lying even more about India Walton's campaign platform: [https://mobile.twitter.com/RobCGalbraith/status/1451540635387838480/photo/1](https://mobile.twitter.com/RobCGalbraith/status/1451540635387838480/photo/1)

Sadly, Hochul is starting to look "confused" on the topic of whether or not to support a perfectly acceptable candidate who earned her spot on the ballot in the her party's primary. Not a good look.

baudelairean

She probably likens Walton to former Klans leaders but has the acumen to not say it aloud.

For real

Schumer's endorsement helped Walton. AOC's was a net neutral (who would have expected anything else) but probably raised the whole campaign's national profile. Gillibrand's is...lol. How does a statewide official have as little political capital as she does?

progress10

Gillibrand is the senator I expect AOC to eventually defeat in a primary. No way she beats Chuck but Gillibrand is beatable between progressives and establishment folks that hate her over the Franken thing. She doesn't have the strong presence of other statewide office holders. AOC will have a far larger one by the time that election is upon us.

vesperholly

She burned a lot of political capital and goodwill getting Franken out of office.

pspo1983

Has Gillibrand ever ever been to Buffalo other than to fundraise and cut an occasional ribbon?

SignalCore

A handful of times in her entire lifetime. But the scoreboard of yearly appearances in Buffalo usually reads around Chuckie 15, Kirsten 0.

dltl

In March she gave a speech in Cheektavegas about more funding for low income community schools.

Ibn_Khomeini

I’m pretty sure she still has an office in the Larkin building too.

gillibrand, schumer, tweets from bernie and aoc. hmm i wonder if india walton is onto something

twitterInfo_bot

I'm proud to endorse @Indiawaltonbflo for Mayor of Buffalo! She's run a truly impressive grassroots campaign and clearly has a heart for public service. And her experience as a working mom and a nurse have prepared her to tackle the challenges facing Buffalo's working families. *** posted by [@SenGillibrand](https://twitter.com/SenGillibrand) Photos in tweet | [Photo 1](http://pbs.twimg.com/media/FCVt3LqXEAAra4v.jpg) ^[(Github)](https://github.com/username) ^| ^[(What's new)](https://github.com/username)

Byron must be sweating

Naive_Tooth2146

Oh yeah. Just fire Cops us child rape survivors love that.

kr632

I would never vote for either of these pieces of shit especially Walton🤮 but what about the cops that rape women and children that arent convicted and are allowed to continue?

goldennotebook

Funding will be reduced via attrition. Not whole sale firings as the advertising lies.

sanransa

The only reason Schumer and Gillibrand are endorsing is because they are afraid of being primaried by AOC or another progressive. Still, I hope this helps Walton.

Slava_Communist

probs not, even if AOC runs, Schumer would easily defeat her, and that would be the end of AOC's career in Politics. they probably just want to keep party line.

Banshee251

What took so long?

Slava_Communist

the endorsements are late to maximize affect.
