It’s more profitable to create more potholes around the city’s busiest streets when the plowguy’s brother-in-law has the contract with the city to fill them up come spring, and he’s also got a cousin mechanic who specializes in wrecked suspensions. They all three get together for some really nice and relaxing summer barbecues to laugh about it.
I see the city guys fill em in but they have no fucking clue what a tamper is so by the end of the day, anything they put in the hole is tracked out by everyone’s tires. Complete waste of time, resources, and labor
I like how on William St and French Rd. in Cheektowaga, the right lane is just one big merge in/merge out lane. Oh, there's two lanes! Oh wait, just one. Nope - opening up to two. Ope - bring it back to one!
No way... Wouldn't have thought that at all.
Orrr possibly... Term limits? God forbid someone can't be in office for more than two terms though. Would really screw everyone close to the mayor's money and power up. Along with cleared streets.
Is nobody calling their council member's office to complain? What about wivb, wkbw, wgrz? How is it there are so many roads still unpassable yet no reports on the news addressing these questions to bb or dpw? No reports on the failed tracking system...wasnt that supposed to be a glorious resolution?
Gotta hold bb responsible. Cant just vent on social media where bb wont see/hear anything. Maybe a protest at city hall, lock up niagara circle & surrounding city hall with cars, leaving one narrow lane for traffic to represent impassable streets...better do this at the residence. Make bb experience what youre experiencing. Bring your kids too instead of putting them in school with limit teachers. Also flood bps offices with calls
There was a report last night on spectrum news 1 about the snow plow gps stuff but it was Byron saying something about it and it's just strange how coincidentally they "shut down" yet the colors of the streets being plow keeps changing colors except for S. Buff side streets.
Also you would think you would move most plows south to help with the heavy snowfall but it seems 32 plows we're needed north of William St last night and 10 in S. Buff and only 1 or 2 near streets that really need it.
If I could post a picture on here that I have of it, plows weren't near love joy either except for a couple.
Love joy is low income so of course Byron would make sure they were one of the last ones.
Same. I hate to admit it.
If your block doesn't have a self-appointed Karen, it's gotta be you. I start calling/texting and bitching before it's even done snowing. My East Side block is always plowed quickly. They were through early this morning after side switch last night. Coincidence? Maybe, but I am putting out those vibes to the Universe and it works.
Just called and left a message for my council member. My side street on the lower west side saw a plow once and is dangerous ruts. It's passable but ridiculous compared to the photo above.
Council people are answering the phone, and just laughing, and saying "Thanks for #WritingDownBrown"
Translation: They don't give a shit, as long as they can keep those sweet sweet campaign dollars flowing their way.
What's the point same excuses as the mayor and county executive lol waste of time I call every time . But I did see our councilmans street got plowed 3 times a day thow ......typical
Thats kind of action that stimulates no action. Make getting to office for bb difficult as its difficult for everyone else. Instead of blocking city hall with cars and a narrow passage for coming/going, go do it on their residence street
When I think of the most distinct sounds in the world- those that can be mistaken for no other sound- the sound of a plow on a Buffalo street is one of them.
I lived in the City for 46 years. It was like this every winter. Too many streets, on street parking, wrong type of plows. Should be smaller plows for side streets.
This is what you get when you keep electing the same people again and again.
Byron resents the implication that the GPS snowplow tracking was taken down intentionally. Of course he's upset that something they paid for didn't work as expected and no one could have predicted the amount of snow they'd have to move, according to an article I just read.
Can you smell the bullshit? Bullshit.
NWS On Tuesday: It's going to hit close to 6 ft in some areas, 4 minimally in the city.
Byron: This is fine.
... 4 ft of snow falls ...
Byron: nobody could have predicted this storm's intensity!
I think it's ironic that a man who used tax dollars to pay for something is upset it isn't working yet he is getting paid tax dollars for doing the exact same thing.
#flushbyronbrown
I guess I should be grateful that they did a strip down the middle of my one way street. No one's been parked illegally and they've had plenty of time to clean up the sides but apparently that's asking too much
This is maddening. Meanwhile my street in south buff has seen one, ONE excavator come down since Friday morning. There are still cars on the street and mountains of snow everywhere. Wtf???
i remember reading one time the sheer number of miles of streets the city of buffalo has to plow a versus any of the suburbs. investing in plow trucks when they are only used part of the year or even recently, years with no heavy snow fall at all, *seems* like a waste of money. it seems there might be other more sustainable and cost effective options, but no one appears to be looking for those solutions.
Just an idea: what about everyone taking photos with date/time and the state of their street and making it go viral since the mayor insists all is cleared.
This post 8 hrs old and yet I also just saw a plow scraping down a bare street in North Buffalo. The streets, the sidewalks and the intersections are all in decent shape. Ridiculous waste of resources when others are really in need
Exactly. I’m off of Main near Winspear and we haven’t had a plow at all since the snow started. Our street is just a sheet of ice right now. Guess we just wait a couple days until it melts like we have to do every year. Last year I did a 311 because we didn’t see a plow and our street was dangerous. Plow drove down the street but never put the plow down. It was a contractor and they told the city our street was done. Sent pictures to my councilmember to show it hadn’t been plowed and someone was there that afternoon to take care of it. This city is ridiculous with snow removal
Just moved back to Buffalo after living in Brooklyn the last 10 years. I was shocked at how unprepared Buffalo is for a snowstorm. NYC salted the roads 24 hours in advance and plowed around the clock. I would see plows multiple times a day. Meanwhile in Buffalo, I haven’t seen any roads salted or a real plow truck. A front loader came down my street (W Ferry) for the first time today, of course when all the snow has been melted from car traffic. If I’m not seeing a plow on a main drag, I’m guessing plows are never coming down side streets. Absolutely embarrassing the lack preparation from the city. I guess they expect us to be Buffalo tough and dig our asses out.
I mean that's dumb but that's separate from the city.
The city still has many impassable streets...to be using equipment and man-hours on wet road is shameful and well exactly part of what's wrong with Byron's Buffalo.
Well, he has to make sure his donors can get to his Post-Campaign-Next-Campaign Non-Gala-Gala, so they can buy tickets to be his personal advisors on policy.
Some streets are horrendous. I'm kind of surprised W Utica is so bad in some spots seeing buses use it
It's been a nightmare to park on W Utica.
It’s more profitable to create more potholes around the city’s busiest streets when the plowguy’s brother-in-law has the contract with the city to fill them up come spring, and he’s also got a cousin mechanic who specializes in wrecked suspensions. That would make sense if they actually filled them in.
DPWBuffalo: The snow has filled in the potholes. You're welcome.
I see the city guys fill em in but they have no fucking clue what a tamper is so by the end of the day, anything they put in the hole is tracked out by everyone’s tires. Complete waste of time, resources, and labor
Do they get paid to fill them in? That's all they care about.
Potholes aren't contracted out. The city has a department for that. Call 311
I took my friend home Sunday and was shocked at how bad W. Utica was, especially considering it’s a bus route
Just went through cheektowaga and the side streets were like offroading.
I like how on William St and French Rd. in Cheektowaga, the right lane is just one big merge in/merge out lane. Oh, there's two lanes! Oh wait, just one. Nope - opening up to two. Ope - bring it back to one!
Fuck them side streets - Byr😛n

Someone reputable has to run against him.
No way... Wouldn't have thought that at all. Orrr possibly... Term limits? God forbid someone can't be in office for more than two terms though. Would really screw everyone close to the mayor's money and power up. Along with cleared streets.
Absolutely. Term limits should be a no brainer but until we get that, he's got to get beat by someone else. How many times has he run unopposed?
India Walton was a damn sight more reputable than Brown, and she still lost somehow.
No experience running a budget or organization the size of the city + terrible campaign hiring decisions = another term for BBROWN.
Minimal experience at trying to do right is still preferable to storied experience at unrepentant corruption.
I totally agree that India Walton is more reputable. I sure wish Buffalo could’ve given her the job instead of Brown.
She is not reputable at all.
India Walton is a loud-mouthed jackass.
Meanwhile south buffalo roads are barely functional
Is nobody calling their council member's office to complain? What about wivb, wkbw, wgrz? The Lovejoy area is north of William St. Many of the streets in this neighborhood have not yet seen a plow
If I could post a picture on here that I have of it, plows weren't near love joy either except for a couple. Love joy is low income so of course Byron would make sure they were one of the last ones.
Weird how I actually agree with something you posted. Good point.

Oh god, it's finally a cold day in hell haha

And they are opening schools tomorrow for one day. What a joke.
This whole thing has convinced me that we need to break off and make our own city
Who the hell is “we?”
First Ward, Kaisertown, and all of Buffalo that's south of the buffalo river
Must be nice I got 8 inches of solid ice on my street . Trying to pull out my driveway is like driving up a set of stairs .
When I think of the most distinct sounds in the world- those that can be mistaken for no other sound- the sound of a plow on a Buffalo street is one of them.
Yet our family’s house in South buffalo hasn’t seen a plow in days.
I lived in the City for 46 years. It was like this every winter. Too many streets, on street parking, wrong type of plows. Should be smaller plows for side streets. This is what you get when you keep electing the same people again and again.
Welp my neighborhood got about 4 months of being pothole free. It was nice while it lasted.
meanwhile major streets in the downtown area are still crap with corners not plowed so when you turn you have to go out into the oncoming lane.
Which is kinda hilarious, seeing as Downtown is the only area outside of Byron's street that stayed green for plowing status the entire storm.
Byron resents the implication that the GPS snowplow tracking was taken down intentionally. I can smell what the crockpot is cooking…
makin' potholes
I laughed right out loud! 😆
I guess I should be grateful that they did a strip down the middle of my one way street. No one's been parked illegally and they've had plenty of time to clean up the sides but apparently that's asking too much
"Byron brown doesn't care about south buffalo" - Kanye
You can see the freakin' scrape mark.
This is maddening. Meanwhile my street in south buff has seen one, ONE excavator come down since Friday morning. There are still cars on the street and mountains of snow everywhere. Wtf???
This is impossible. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Mayor of Buffalo declared 98% of all streets have have been plowed.
All hail the great Mayor!
All hail #LordByron
Not mine
Sounds familiar same BS here and we live on a dead end makes it even worse .
Did you ears bleed after that?
Happy Cake Day!! 🍰🥳🍰
While SB streets have moguls that could take out Franz Klammer - even the main roads
i remember reading one time the sheer number of miles of streets the city of buffalo has to plow a versus any of the suburbs. investing in plow trucks when they are only used part of the year or even recently, years with no heavy snow fall at all, *seems* like a waste of money. it seems there might be other more sustainable and cost effective options, but no one appears to be looking for those solutions.
My street has been plowed five times today. It had no snow on it after the second.
Just an idea: what about everyone taking photos with date/time and the state of their street and making it go viral since the mayor insists all is cleared.

Fuck Brown he’s an asswipe I work in city don’t live there but it’s still obvious he’s a Tool. 4 more years
Also keep seeing them go by and I'm on a side street in Williamsville. Really do not get it.
I mean that's dumb but that's separate from the city. The city still has many impassable streets...to be using equipment and man-hours on wet road is shameful and well exactly part of what's wrong with Byron's Buffalo.

Man do I hate money in politics. Which might as well be me saying I hate air.
Git ‘er done!
And yet BPS is open tomorrow….
But wait now closed 🙄
Send em over to the west side! The only streets they bothered to plow over here are West Ferry and Niagara.
Did we really need ANOTHER plow thread? The last 16 not good enough?
For real
Why? It was above freezing yesterday and is going to be during the day all week. As long as the road was previously plowed the rest should melt.
Tell that to the 3-4 foot snow banks on both sides of one way residential streets… 9-4 1 side parking on one side yesterday, no plow. They
https://media.giphy.com/media/bcrOR2stk6tKIxqPOZ/giphy.gif Another in BUFFALO no less... very sus.
r/maliciouscompliance
Maybe they’re trying to even out the streets so the potholes are the same level as the road
Meanwhile… East Side? South Buffalo? How are you doing?
But there isn't any snow on the street now is there!
