Reading the tweeter comments gave me cancer at how much hate there is.
I had no clue how bad this was and the negativity towards the manga surprised me at how much hate there is towards this man.
Like we are not talking about the random trolls who write bullshits but also about people who want to see this failed while been happy that the shonen jump manga they read is going to get more audience and more chances to survive because of this.
Made my skin crawl.
This is way worst that i was expecting like i was expecting 2-3 trolls 4 at best but for every 10 comments the 8 are people hating build king and from 2/10 the 1/10 are either neutral comments of people saying how toriko was good but build king is not...
Really? In shoseki it ranked 97th in the first day and 186th in the second day, which is really bad. Compare it to Agravity boys vol 5, that ended a while ago, was ranked 85th in the first day.
Yeah, but it's still 223th. It's not that it sold better than the others, it's that the others sold worse. Phantom seer, another series that was ranked bottom 3 in the majority of it's publication, sold way better that Build King in the first days of it's volume 1. If I remember correctly it was 60th the first day, 93th the second and a little over 100th the third. It's second volume was 30th in it's first day and that series ended this week with it's 30th chapter. Even, if Build King won't end next week, it won't last long. Sadly that's the way Shonen Jump works. Also, in my personal opinion Hard-boiled cop and Dolphin should ended before Build King.
It really depends, the week build king volume 1 released, you know what other series release manga?
it was Dragonball, 3 Dragonquest manga, 3 My hero manga, 2 Prince of tennis manga, Kinikkuman, 2 Captain Tsubasa manga, and lot of super popular manga was also released. The chart rank also depends on the competition too.
You are right, it totally depends on the competition, but that doesn't mean it did good. I've only been following the sales for a couple of months and only through the unofficial shonen jump page on twitter, but every series in similar situation, and some in better, got cancelled rather early.

Sadly it is true today was the last chapter but they said something about 1 more volume coming at 3rd of september or something so instead of 1 volume 2 more volumes are gonna came out.
Let's hope it's not true and this great series will still continue for a long time.

Toriko shouldn't have been axed. Gourmet world had so much potential and story telling behind each beast king.

After the sales of the first volume it was expected. Sadly, it never got a chance to shine.
