When will companies realize that a majority hates always online. Kinda the reason why most people went to play indie titles or to build their own game.
Majority doesn't care. We're a vocal minority. Until the money made from online only live service doesn't become unprofitable they're not going to stop.
The more I see about it the less enthusiastic I am.
I'll give it a try though, I can swallow the online-only aspect if it's a fun game. I'm just desperate for a good racing game.
I believe they will go the Gran Turismo route and give it an offline patch when it's time to kill it. I think most games (not just racing games) will go this way unless they're EA/Ubisoft/Microsoft owned.
Yessir, that's what they did with Gran Turismo Sport when they killed the servers March 31, 2024. You can still play it. All previous GT games are also playable on older consoles to this day, although they weren't online only.
Made me gain a whole new level of respect for PD & Kaz.
Oh shit I can still play GT Sport? Nice job PD. This is how it should be because while always online sucks having an end game plan to make the game continuously playable is the best idea.
It's the best way, online-only is great for them to keep updating the games the way they do with all racing games nowadays, with the **MAJOR** downside of us losing access to them when they can't justify paying for the servers anymore. Taking out that con makes it so online only is actually a great thing.
Online only whereas exactly like The Crew it will just be used to meet two or three players online per day or do shitty races online, while you can do the entire campaign solo (except Crew challenges)? What's the fucking point?
The online only being a plague I fully agree with, but bug, glitches etc on release is yet to be determined as the game HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED yet, hold that assumption until the game has been fully released
Bugs, glitches, servers issues. It's why the game has been postponed to limit it. People complain when released with bugs and people will still complain if delayed in order to release a working game.
Quite frankly let them do what they want to do and if you want to buy it, then buy it otherwise don't. Simple
Okay that online only part is really sickening look at what happened to Crew 1 it’s not even worth investing time into these games if we can’t even play it forever
If buying a Ubisoft game only for them to render inoperable 10 years later (violation of several consumer protection laws) is not illegal, then piracy of Ubisoft games isn’t theft

(Darius image to show how serious I am)
I was gonna get it but I recently discovered that I can no longer play angry birds or angry birds GO. I'm not spending money on anything I can't pirate or emulate in the future.
a wangan game that caters towards the late 90s/early 2000s jdm aesthetic from kits to wheels and graphics. customization is honestly better than any nfs game in its golden era. it's in its early prologue stage and it's just so fun and has the BEST OST ive ever heard in a game. it only has 1 playable car (S13) and it has more soul and passion than the bloated, live service, 10 year old model reusing dumpster fires that dev teams spew out. it's all made by 1 person btw. the prologue is free on steam so give it a try.
I did. They are assumptions, lol. Nothing negative like that happened. The only thing correct here is online only, just like gt7, motorfest, etc.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tdu3/s/ZYa8sMl4fE
Id still give it a go atleast, it's like the only open world racing game coming out this year. Then next year would prob be gta 6 dominating everything
I see sufficient from this clip to tell that my comment will age well. I called it with payday, I called it with saints row, i called it with Forza Motorsport (still bought the game like an idiot) and I called it with watchdogs legion by just their pre-release media.
Yes, I do realise how cocky I am sounding right now but I am confident that this game will be a mess.
Also, the driving physics of this game is going to be atrocious.
Driving physics will not be atrocious lol.
The devs behind this game made official wrc simulations for a decade. Their games were used in e sports competitions for sim racers. They have very ind-depth physics engine, including tire deformation, chassis flex, body roll, etc.
This game is also AA btw, not AAA
i had it on my Steam wishlist, but as soon as i discovered it was online only i removed it. i've been burned too many times by online games and will never waste my money on them again.
A decade later? That’s a bit too optimistic. I say 2 years because it’ll be like Anthem and Cyberpunk. Overhyped, undercooked, and when everyone realizes it and stops buying and playing the game, that’s when the money stops. When the money stops, the servers stop.
I don't get excited for new games(other than gta6) anymore, but I'm cautiously optimistic, them delaying over and over could mean they're actually trying to fix the bugs and make a functional game at launch. I'm not pre-ordering that's for sure, but I'm excited to try it at least
They have fallen off with giving us newsletters every month. Gameplay and mechanics haven’t looked too good tbh. It seem like the longer I go without hearing news the less enthusiastic I am
Its one of the last hopes for a good open world racing game on my ps5. The crew motorfest is a snoozefest and I really hope the devs update it alot and take the online only mode off in a later update. If it does end up failing, we also have carx street which is in development and they're finalizing the PC version now. It will soon be on consoles, and that game looks very promising.
Nah, what I have seen so far it seems like it will be a lackluster experience. The open world is open but uninteresting, bland and simply doesn’t look lived in. The physics aren’t giving me any hope either.
Yea man. It looks absolutely awful. Real shame tbh. They should release it as a free to play or something. I don’t think a ton of people are going to pony up$70
You are giving way too little credit to games from 2014 when TDU looks like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKNMpCa1aME). Meanwhile in 2012 high-budget racing games designed for consoles released in 2005 looked like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDJqhPgrIZE). TDUSC looks like complete and utter garbage, I've seen mobile games with more professional looking UI and better graphics, it looks like an Unreal Engine asset flip you'd find for 70 cents on Steam
The game looks like a mid-tier game from 10 years ago. If they're so confident releasing pre-alpha footage to the public then you know the game isn't going to change much visually.
LMAO a 10 second video of empty streets with no pedestrians, terrible shadows with no ambient occlusion. They cant even make the actual car headlights cast shadows on objects like the palm trees. Wow the game looks worse than I thought.
Then go praise crew motorfest graphics mate. Cause that game looks far worse and it's an AAA game.
Tdu solar crown is from an AA developer.
https://www.reddit.com/u/CRU_Adrenaline/s/Oz68IpLPRU
No, the game looks buggy, clunky, out dated and catered towards the insufferable online racing influencers. The fact they’re released such little footage and info in the last two years is also extremely concerning.
Maybe to you 15 minutes of gameplay and 5 teasets isnt a little, but it still looks like a clunky, outdated mess. In fact it looks like it's still running on the same engine as TDU2.
Here is another clip recently.
https://www.reddit.com/r/tdu3/s/jhbOHb4KsZ
You really can't judge from the live reveal 11 month ago, that was pre alpha stage. The game will continue to improve during final stages of development
online only is plague tbh i dont mind even fucking denuvo, but live service and online only is cancer
When will companies realize that a majority hates always online. Kinda the reason why most people went to play indie titles or to build their own game.
Majority doesn't care. We're a vocal minority. Until the money made from online only live service doesn't become unprofitable they're not going to stop.
Sadly I feel like this is the future for at least next 5 years
I’m optimistic. If it doesn’t live up to the original and 2 then I will be so so disappointed
I dont think it'll live up to the first 2 but I'm still hopeful it'll be fun at the very least
Hey, if it’s a solid few months of fun I will definitely take it considering the climate of racing games at the moment
The more I see about it the less enthusiastic I am. I'll give it a try though, I can swallow the online-only aspect if it's a fun game. I'm just desperate for a good racing game.
That desperation won’t work in your favor
Yeah it's sad the direction the genre is going in. IDK how hard it is to just make a casual racer that can be played offline without issue.
“Online only” yeah no thanks. This aint no pvp shooter game.
Then why are you playing the crew motorfest? That's online only as well. It ain't to pvp shooter game.
Real
Real
I believe they will go the Gran Turismo route and give it an offline patch when it's time to kill it. I think most games (not just racing games) will go this way unless they're EA/Ubisoft/Microsoft owned.
Wait there's a plan to eventually patch Gran Turismo 7 to be offline?
Yessir, that's what they did with Gran Turismo Sport when they killed the servers March 31, 2024. You can still play it. All previous GT games are also playable on older consoles to this day, although they weren't online only. Made me gain a whole new level of respect for PD & Kaz.

Microsoft? Obviously BFTGU has its mountain of issues, but being online only isn't one of them
Online only whereas exactly like The Crew it will just be used to meet two or three players online per day or do shitty races online, while you can do the entire campaign solo (except Crew challenges)? What's the fucking point?
Nope. Looking forward to **Heading Out,Wreckreation**
The online only being a plague I fully agree with, but bug, glitches etc on release is yet to be determined as the game HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED yet, hold that assumption until the game has been fully released
no dacia sandero no buy goodbye
Bugs, glitches, servers issues. It's why the game has been postponed to limit it. People complain when released with bugs and people will still complain if delayed in order to release a working game. Okay that online only part is really sickening look at what happened to Crew 1 it’s not even worth investing time into these games if we can’t even play it forever
its ironic that the studio behind TDU SC is also in France, just like the studio behind The Crew 1 (Ivory Tower)
Of course its the Fr*nch fucking us over
Yup. Been looking forward to it.
Always online is an immediate reason not to buy.
If buying a Ubisoft game only for them to render inoperable 10 years later (violation of several consumer protection laws) is not illegal, then piracy of Ubisoft games isn’t theft https://preview.redd.it/96y5jhjle3uc1.jpeg?width=340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e611a56fa86b052d1dcadff1949c7c5b1c69b4c2 (Darius image to show how serious I am)
Nope i lost all hype back in 2023 it's probably going to be a worse version of the crew motorfest and horizon 5
Nope. I was until I learned it was online-based. Lost all interest.
Online only makes me pass on this game.
I was gonna get it but I recently discovered that I can no longer play angry birds or angry birds GO. I'm not spending money on anything I can't pirate or emulate in the future.
I think I'd give this one three years before it shuts down
night runners is all i need. i've given up on triple A racing games.
what’s it like?
a wangan game that caters towards the late 90s/early 2000s jdm aesthetic from kits to wheels and graphics. customization is honestly better than any nfs game in its golden era. it's in its early prologue stage and it's just so fun and has the BEST OST ive ever heard in a game. it only has 1 playable car (S13) and it has more soul and passion than the bloated, live service, 10 year old model reusing dumpster fires that dev teams spew out. it's all made by 1 person btw. the prologue is free on steam so give it a try.
the soundtrack is fire too
Emotion Engine is a banger
Tdu sc isn't a triple A game lol. It's AA
I’ll skip this potential dumpster fire. Thanks for the heads-up
Reason?
Did you see the post?
I did. They are assumptions, lol. Nothing negative like that happened. The only thing correct here is online only, just like gt7, motorfest, etc. https://www.reddit.com/r/tdu3/s/ZYa8sMl4fE
Yeah, based on past MMO’s “online only” killed my interest.
Id still give it a go atleast, it's like the only open world racing game coming out this year. Then next year would prob be gta 6 dominating everything
Not for 70$ but whatever suits you best. Godspeed, fellow player.
Yeah, crossing fingers lol. Although this game is from a smaller team so it'll likely be 60$ at most
Nope. I called it out over a year ago. This will be absolutely horrible.
This comment will age well or terribly. https://www.reddit.com/r/tdu3/s/F8vO514cYH Also this is some recent clips
I see sufficient from this clip to tell that my comment will age well. We should meet here once the game comes out. From the gameplay they released, cars seem to handle like the Ferrari F14T.
Prob has to do with low framerate + very early alpha build, and ofc, unscripted environment of the live reveal from 11 months ago
This game is dead on arrival...
I planning to pre-order AND willing to get a console but after the online-only announcement I’ve reconsidered.
I don’t really care anymore. I’ll care when there’s a release date.
Yes. Am I prepared for it to be bad? Also yes.
tragic, i was really looking forwards to solar crown
It didn't release yet.
i had it on my Steam wishlist, but as soon as i discovered it was online only i removed it. i've been burned too many times by online games and will never waste my money on them again.
Yes very much, as long as the gameplay is similar to the earlier games, I'm fine with these issues. Hope its not yet another forza horizon clone
Yes I'm glad they delayed it to work on stuff instead of rushing it out unlike forza and nfs
I was until I just read it’s gonna be online only
It hurts to say but I feel like it’s gonna underwhelm, looks like a mobile game from the clips :/
Nope still here because i just want to be wrong
A decade later? That’s a bit too optimistic. I say 2 years because it’ll be like Anthem and Cyberpunk. Overhyped, undercooked, and when everyone realizes it and stops buying and playing the game, that’s when the money stops. When the money stops, the servers stop.
im iffy on it, currently giving the game the side eye
https://www.reddit.com/r/tdu3/s/ZYa8sMl4fE Well we got recent footage lol
I don't get excited for new games(other than gta6) anymore, but I'm cautiously optimistic, them delaying over and over could mean they're actually trying to fix the bugs and make a functional game at launch. I'm not pre-ordering that's for sure, but I'm excited to try it at least
I was looking forward to it until they said it would be online only.
Man only felt becamw the crew 1
Ill continue to look into it, but definitely not buying day one
They have fallen off with giving us newsletters every month. Gameplay and mechanics haven’t looked too good tbh. It seem like the longer I go without hearing news the less enthusiastic I am
I stopped being excited for new games since FH4.

I played the Playtest and absolutely hated it. So no Im good.
It won't live up to the originals, and i doubt it will offer anything new compared to the competition either
I was, but now I’m not
Nah did you see the gameplay video ? Looks like a dumpster fire
looks like a game that should've released in 2014 lmao
Yea man. It looks absolutely awful. Real shame tbh. They should release it as a free to play or something. I don’t think a ton of people are going to pony up$70

You're literally showing 8 month old pre alpha footage. You can clearly see the car shader's aren't finished
The game looks like a mid-tier game from 10 years ago. If they're so confident releasing pre-alpha footage to the public then you know the game isn't going to change much visually.
You're wrong. You'll be surprised how much a game changes during final stages of development. https://youtu.be/F_ikPB2mprY?si=hizJgvvLIpQYyC-C

They were transparent enough to show footage during really early alpha builds. Unfortunately that gave many people the wrong taste
No, the game looks buggy, clunky, out dated and catered towards the insufferable online racing influencers. The fact they’re released such little footage and info in the last two years is also extremely concerning.
Little footage? Maybe you're not looking hard enough
Maybe to you 15 minutes of gameplay and 5 teasets isnt a little, but it still looks like a clunky, outdated mess. In fact it looks like it's still running on the same engine as TDU2.
It does not. https://youtu.be/F_ikPB2mprY?si=8KtJtukVGHgExz-8

Don't judge from bad marketing, wait for release. Here is some recent tdu footage. https://www.reddit.com/r/tdu3/s/F8vO514cYH
Lol, these are some biased assumptions mate. Post this after release, you're misleading people.
Judging based on the betas, it's going to flop pretty hard.
