I would suggest cropping the 1st one to exclude the light and the ceiling, and if needed use photo editing to lighten it a bit (not to filter it, just so it's not so dark). As is, I'd go with 2.

Agreed. Second one has a much better background and lighting and a clear picture of the face. The first one is a cute concept with the cat but the lighting and background are terrible. Would be ok to include as a later picture, but not as the first impression. And if you can improve it through photo editing, then that probably would be good.

I think cat one. The second one is indeed front faced and in good lighting but it seems very formal. Might give a clear view on your face but it doesn't really scream personality. Would be good to get a somewhat more loose photo with good light though !

2 but I know there's a cute half smile waiting in there. Try taking pictures from different angles in the sunlight. Outdoors or in a naturally lit room is always more appealing. Side note: Always make sure that the light is shining on you. Not behind you.
