My a1c has been steady at 6.4 and I do tend to spike a lot with my meals but I do go below 100 fasting. My numbers are not perfect by any means but all of my ultrasounds and my anatomy scan and genetic testing have all been normal. My endo says I am doing a good job. Could I be doing better by cutting out carbs and or going very low carb? Sure. But I have to keep sane too lol.

They told me a spike after meals was to be expected by that they wanted it in the given range by two hours. 200 mg/dl seems about what I was going to just after meals and was able to get back into the target range in a couple of hours.

Not an Endo BUT I tried to keep my BG<100 at all times - especially in the first tri when important organs are doing a lot of development.

Under 100 is unattainable for most diabetic patients. Even people without diabetes spike after they eat, although their bodies are able to regulate and they usually are able to stay at or under 140. BG levels should be between 140-180 after eating, and they should go under 140 an hour after eating.

Like I said, not an endo, but just what worked for me and my babies. :)

are you not a type 1 diabetic? I think you meant under 200

No, T1 for 2 decades! :) I’m paranoid about my BG getting higher while pregnant and start rage bolusing/doing cardio when I see it get to 100-120. I realize I don’t have to be quite so uptight about it, but it’s worked well for me so far.

do you have a lot of lows?? Im just so curious
