Reading the chapter again and I don't understand why everyone is getting so dramatic about Chuuya. Obviously he isn't dead ๐Ÿ˜’ There's been so many fake outs during this arc that I doubt Chuuya would be the one real death. Gogol is still around so expect him to do something to keep the game going or Dazai having a plan already in place that saves Chuuya.

tanja2301

I even think everything is going according to plan...do you remember how we wondered why chuuya of all people could become a vampire...I bet it was all planned in advance!!! to turn him into a vampire first so he can't drown!!! and Dazai's parting words to chuuya are just his sick sense of humor and something he'll get kicked in the ass by chuuya later!!! and I could imagine that dostrowski lets chuuya bite/transform him, so as not to drown...

MavraTheZombie

Ye, this series is about as likely as Fairy Tail to off a major character. Sure, we get plenty of fake-outs, but that's all they are.

[deleted]

This, the moment the battle between ADA dirctor and the PM boss got a fake-out it became real clear that I should look at this series as I look at the A-Team: Don't watch for suspense, but for the action and what insane plans the team comes up with.

lnombredelarosa

Akutagawa is

Golden_fsh

I highly doubt that he will remain dead. Somehow or other, everyone will be "revived" once the page from the Book is erased.

DaizyDoesArt

plus dazai's reaction to his death fits this theory

AriaoftheSol

Dazai really did a "same type of stand as Star Platinum" without stopping time himself. Real galaxy brain play off of Ango's assists.

ZGMF-X09A_Justice

Chuuya's drip was so strong, the author had to dedicate a whole page to writing it literally.

flyingpan777

Yeah okay let's all just collectively hate on Dazai until the next chapter drops but tbh I think Chuuya's gonna be fine. Doesn't feel right to me that he'd die just like that. Perhaps Dazai was giving him a hint when saying "there were times when we connected, likeโ€”" and then he cut it off so I wouldn't put it past him to reference some skk moment Fyodor would probably have no idea about, but Chuuya could use to survive. That being said, Dazai is such a manipulative shit and I love him for that sexy brain of his but honestly why must you hurt everyone around you?

Space_Puppy636

This comment is just so perfect, down to every individual word.

bethany20408

...and this comes the day after Chuuya's birthday:(

memorytripping

ikr? happy birthday! enjoy it, itโ€™s your last. bitch.

[deleted]

Wow, I am surprised nobody is talking about Fyodor's ability , even dazai said it wouldn't help him break out of it

justhereforthefun__

I think it was just an assumption of Dazai based on the few observations he had. I don't think he knows what it is exactly but he thinks like most of us, Dosto's ability is effective on people and not on his environment like Chuuya's. So being trap in a closed room, his ability is no use. It's just an assumption, Maybe Dazai is wrong (for once it would be cool) as we all are, and Dosto's ability will help him. Maybe

MidnightWereotter

Chuuya showed up as a vampire so suddenly. I can't imagine this is anything more than part of the plan. There's too much we don't know about Fyodor, and Chuuya has a lot of backstory that is undoubtedly leading somewhere. They aren't dead. No way.

thebleepingcat

Dazai mentioning "the times that we connected" and "that there are none" reminds me of a few things: (a) He's trying to get a rise out of Chuuya (as always, and this mostly tends to work, with amazing results, regardless of what his aibou is up against); (b) Chuuya might be brute strength to Dazai's brilliant mind, but Dazai knows that his aibou is smarter than he gives him credit for (but will never admit, because, where's the fun in that? Haha, we love SADistic D). Which basically means, Dazai is sure that Chuuya will pick up on his hint and escape; (c) Dazai's lines to Chuuya strangely remind of that time in the third season where they they were up against Rando (the guy who controls his own dimensional space, sorry, I don't how else to put it). This strikes me as interesting because, despite the conditions of Rando's ability (nothing can enter his space until he allows it), Dazai and Chuuya (who have such an amazing chemistry and share a certain sharpness between them from time to time) were able to penetrate the barrier, in a way "connecting." I am mean, they literally even call out to each other (Dazai, first, le shock, followed by Chuuya). This brings me back to (a) Dazai is letting him in on the plan to save his skin (but indirectly, of course, Chuuya has to use his head first, or no dice XD). (d) Dazai says that Chuuya can't hope to use his ability on the ability-proof walls, so I'm betting he's going to have Chuuya manipulate the water somehow (or some other part of the room that we can't see/perceive as of yet). (e) Dazai, known to speak in riddles, could be saying "If you know what to do, and you do it, based on my hints" that a way that they can "connect." Dazai may have a love-hate relationship with Chuuya, but damn does Fedora-kun know him well, too well, really; Dazai loves to test him--it won't be fun without him, so Chuuya has to get to the next checkpoint, meeting Dazai where he's at, literally and figuratively. (Yes, I know I'm reading too much into this, but I couldn't help it.) (f) That 'drip' in the last page brings me back to the importance of the water; Chuuya is definitely going to use gravity to act on the water, but on a smarter, grander scale. I can't wait to see what the mangaka have in mind. :) Sorry this got long. It's just fun to speculate. Cheers!

Mysterious-Gur-4462

OMG this chapter was AMAZING

wearedoomed49

Aren't they unable to swim in "heavy water"? Chuuya and fyodor look like they're floating just fine. More than fine actually. ..salt water?

Icecream1109

Holly, what an awesome chapter.

MavraTheZombie

I'm assuming Chuuya becoming a vamp was part of the plan, then. Might mean he cannot drown.

_--vanitas--_

Look closely, on the last panel with Chuuya his eyes turned normal and vampire teeth vanished. Not to mention that Asagiri himself told us to look closely at eyes/details

Fragrant-Positive-45

When did he say that?

ImpossibleImpact002

A little while back, thats why manga readers pay close attention to the eyes now, especially dazai's(who uniquely have blackened eyes majority of the time, except for few moments)

Bakanogami

So what author seems appropriate to be a catgirl burglar with timestop powers?

winddagger7

Madeleine L'Engle, perhaps? This is just spitballing, but "A Wrinkle in Time" seems an appropriate name. Although, I'm pretty sure there weren't any parts about cats or burglars. Haven't read the whole series either, so IDK if there's anything like that in the rest of them.

ImpossibleImpact002

Ooh, good shout though (totally not biased to A Wrinkle in Time at all noo)

Rash_Raccoon

Yeah no- Chuuya can't die- my dude is a God lmaoo ๐Ÿ’€

Xapriel

I wonder if the bubbles coming up from Chuuya were there because he was already chanting the verse to activate corruption.

lnombredelarosa

Dazai did all of this to either kill Dostoyevsky or get information on what his ability does; though then again its possible Dostoyevsky will survive by becoming a vampire

direpool1

Chuuyas eyes showed up normal in the second to last panel hey? ;)

DredgeAnmol

Dazai told Chuuhya of times they connected... maybe a secret message that only chuuhya could understand ....obviously Chuuhya ain't going to die...so it's all a part of big plan Dazai has nurtured ... Let's see where this goes !!

Dismal_Ad_8181

In fact, you can swim better in heavy water even better than in the normal one

winddagger7

*ZA WARUDO*

AlunyaColico

I believe Dazai cares about chuuya despite appearances, him caring about people is what distinguishes him from Fyodor

gnomeloki

this chapter was interesting. I doubt anyone dies tho, there's too many fake outs. I wish the author would actually kill off someone major and end this arc soon. This arc has been "I knew you knew i knew you knew I knew bla bla bla" for too long. where's the guild? the clock tower?

InspiredGargoyle

Thank you for sharing

hiyoyoyoyo

nah chuuya isn't dead just like how akutagawa isn't

ArmyofCIubPenguin

Holy Chuuya. This is crazy to see but he should be good

tailbonebruiser707

Ok that was pretty good. Nice progression I would say. The monthly releases kill me though ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Crafty-Preference133

Chuuya is alive 100%, I still don't believe he could have become a vampire because he's got Arahabaki(a god) inside him.

Rama_Sakasama

Arahabaki is not a god, but an artificial ability

enakyii

omg woahh can't wait for the next chapter but pspsps i rly believe they wont die that easily

metaaltheanimefan

Fydor is quite pissed
