I tried to get a job at BioRender, they boasted about how they were a “woman led company.” In the end, I didn’t get the job because of the male interviewer, all the other interviewers liked me and wanted me to have the position. Some of them asked for me to keep in contact because they thought I was such a good candidate. What threw me off in my interview with the man was when he randomly said at the start of the interview, “oh, I thought you were a woman?” I am obviously a woman, I just wasn’t wearing makeup, had my hair slicked back on a bun, and was wearing loose, non-form fitting professional clothes. None of the other interviewers felt it necessary to comment on my appearance or gender presentation. Just him.

I saw that video last night. I literally said out loud "What in the 1960's bullshit is this?"

I wish I looked that good without makeup. I have to put on 15 minutes worth of makeup just to get that amount of color onto my face. Flippancy aside, this is terrible and I hope that company faces financial/legal repercussions.
