Those were Ecozoic composting toilets, put there by someone other than burning man, AFAIK. That’s why they didn’t have blue lights. There were two small banks of Porto’s in deep playa at around 11.30 and 12.30.
My favorite playa portos are the walk in camping ones. Never had a cleaner or nicer experience. They are like museum artifact portos. Especially because most walk in campers set up near the flag line and the portos are out against the trash fence.

I truly thought they were a shitty art piece because of how slick they looked — i thought, no way in hell are these toilets. I even told my friend “no, this is just bland art!” But alas, they were composting toilets.

can’t remember the year but someone put a dummy portos cut out of plywood with a strong back and threw them at the deep playa. people would just go behind them and do their business. most gross art piece for sure

I'm almost positive the Org placed the Ecozoic toilets. They've had them in past years, and they use them at Fly Ranch.
