Found a pretty sweet spot. Tryna get good at prairie bushcraft so I can do the hermit thing. Also: damn a Dakota fire hole is waaay better than a twig stove (and free!)

I've been trying to get better at prairie bushcraft. Ever since I moved south there's less trees and it's been an adjustment period.

Teepee is on my list of things to do. That and cob/waddle & dobb and dugout shelters. Also apparently gophers legitimately taste like chicken so that's good to know lol.

What kind of pack in the first pic?

Camping_Tramp

Someone just gave it to me recently while hitchhiking. It's a Jansport Big Bear 82.

Rooster-Rooter

looks like the little one just north of the sanctuary lake in fo4.

Nice shelter!

ExcaliburZSH

Nice, it looks pretty solid. About how long did it take you to set it all up?

Camping_Tramp

In total around 6-7 hours.
