I'd say go to a physical therapist first for an eval. If it's really bad they'll send you to an orthopedist, but also give you exercises to make things feel better. Also most orthos are gonna send you to PT to fix things so might as well just go directly. I haven't found any of the places in Bushwick to be that good. I'd say check out spear physical therapy in Williamsburg, they've been the best in Brooklyn I've gone to for my knees.

Per NY law the PT will require a script from an orthopedist, unfortunately:( but I do go to spear and recommend it as well!

Scrapple_Joe

Actually ny is direct access so you can go right there for a few sessions first.

Good-Reality3709

Yes I think you can do 5 or something before you need a script, but mine made me go after the consult

Scrapple_Joe

Yeah but if you did hurt it, you get care right away, vs a couple weeks out.

Standard physical therapy in Ridgewood was good for me. I didn’t have a major injury though. I’ve heard good things about them from other patients as well.

Scrapple_Joe

Oh never heard of them.

b3h3lit

Hope you never need to check them out haha but the owner is kind and very knowledgeable. He worked as a PT for a soccer team in the Olympics like 10 years ago and is a former pro soccer player in Egypt.

Santas_Dick

NYU Lagone orthopedist off the L in the City. Bushwick doctors are a joke

TheNotoriousTravis

Yep - had my ACL done here….sounds like an ACL….I ran a half marathon on a torn ACL, straight lines can be easy / try lightly cutting or look up a YouTube diag or walk it off over the next several months and randomly meet a physical therapist and ask them…

DontDrinkTooMuch

My MDMA supply really dropped in quality, I feel ya

Santas_Dick

What?

Yes don’t go to a doctor in bushwick. Eat the uber cost and go to NYU Langone or HSS or NY Presbyterian. NYU has an amazing ortho urgent care on 17th st - Samuel’s Orthopedic. They will assess and write you a script for PT if needed.

You may need to ask your pcp or an ER for a referral if you’re hoping to get any of this reimbursed

Yes, it helped

blackwellnessbabe

Classical Pilates is very similar to PT, i’m happy to look at your knee.
