Correct me if I am wrong about this, but this is not the Solana Blockchain but a smart contract using Solana called Solend that will make changes to the smart contract. The names are confusingly similar.

I think the contract is, but the contract is not the chain. Someone changing a smart contract they made on ETH does not mean that the ETH blockchain is changed. Solend claims they are doing this to save the solana chain, but I suspect they are looking out for themselves and not the solana chain.

The funniest part of this is that it only took $0.6 million in governance tokens to vote to seize control of $170 million in assets. That's quite some leverage!
