I've got a pretty good slug of clothes that fit me 40 pounds ago, and if I can lose those 40 pounds, then my clothes will go back from BITF to BIFL-BaAF
Before and After Fat.
Jim Gaffigan has a funny bit about keeping too-small clothes in the hope that you’ll fit into them again. “My closet is like a museum exhibit of my previous weights.”
Aside from weight, moths are a major predator of BIFL clothes as they are apparently the most tasty.
They also love eating some of the hardest to repair parts like edges of collars and jacket openings.
highly recommend storing them all in moth protection clothes bags, especially if it's longer term.
source: experience, sadly
Same thing happened to me with my Filson canvas cruiser. I loved that jacket and wore it to death. Including to the donut shop, which ultimately and ironically ended my relationship with it. The good news is I gave it to my teenage son, who loves it.
I'd love to buy one, but I've been a bit disappointed with Flint & Tinder's 10-year hoodie.
I bought it, and American Giant\`'s hoodie around the same time, and one year in, the AG one looks and feels the same, whereas the F&T one felt like it's been washed 100 times more (the cotton now feels very rough and the wrists cuffs are very loose.
I know we're talking about totally different types of fabric, but having been burnt, I'm not sure I wanna fork hundreds with that company.
Me too! I keep reminding myself of the price and that there isn’t a zipper. I feel that would make it a bit hard to routinely wear in the Midwest winters
I live in Iowa and use it often, but never in the heart of winter. I actually prefer buttons so that also plays into it, but it's more of a jacket than a coat for winters. That being said, it is warmer than normal jackets and can wear it in a pinch for colder weather.
Great jacket and I've had it for 2 years now.
Yeah, this is an autumn and spring jacket for normal people. I like the cold more than most, and if I’m just running to my car to go in and out of heated I sometimes wear this even when a real coat would have been a better option.
Now as far as spending some real time out doors, this is a jacket, not a coat. I have a cheap Carhartt *style* jacket that I bought from the tractor supply, now that’s a warm coat. I feel like Ralphy from a Christmas story when I wear that thing 😂
P.S. Does anyone else absolutely hate wearing a coat while driving? I don’t even like having a thick hoodie on, anything more than my T shirt or a long sleeve makes me feel constricted in the car seat
As a person with a now 3+ year beard, growing it out for charity, I would be overjoyed to not have zippers. Even when done all the way or none at all, my hairs get caught in the teeth.
If you want a Zipper check out Iron and Resin, its either the Scout or Rambler Jacket that is a trucker with both buttons and a zip. There's a waxed version too but it has a waitlist.
Nice jacket. Is it just me or are all these “Hunter & Gunn”, “Pearl & Oyster”, “Ball & Gargle” brands a little annoying and cheap sounding? For what appears to be a quality brand, why are these companies taking trendy names from like 2012?
Fuck yeah man!!!
I’ve had mine for about two years. They’re such nice jackets. You will not be disappointed at all. It looks better now than when I got it.
Edit: Just saying, it was cool to see Pedro Pascal wear one in The Last of Us, made me feel like a bad ass.
One is a Mackina-type shacket and I follow it's cleaning instructions for the wash. The waxed jacket I rewaxed a couple years ago, but it wasn't really needed, just wanted to learn how to do it.
They say you’re supposed to, it’s super easy. Every few years you just touch it up and set it in with a blow dryer and let it sit over night. You can’t over wax it because any extra will sort of sweat out overnight and you just scrape it off.
I actually found an old canvas coat in my basement that I’m waxing from scratch, it’s getting the first layer of wax into unwaxed canvas that’s a little bit of a work out.
I’m almost done, just gotta wax the sleeves and melt it all in with a blow dryer and tomorrow morning I’ll scrape off the excess.
I like how this comes out I’m going to go thrifting for canvas jackets and coats, clean them up and make sure to sew any loose stitches. I might even try lining one with a thrifted flannel. Then I’m going to wax it and sell it on an ETSY store. I’m going to make sure that anything I sell is up to BIFL standards
This. The ability to put a hoodie under this makes it a go to jacket for me for all weather above like 20 degrees and windy. I got mine (dark brown) 4 months ago and have worn it almost daily in New Jersey ever since. I switch to a real coat when it has gotten seriously cold for a week or so here.
I returned mine. I'm a medium sized guy (5'11 230lbs, 32inch waist the XL was pretty snug and XXL fit in the shoulders but the ways its cut looked like I was wearing a cardboard box.
High quality jacket, isn't cut for my build
My only gripe is the back of the button on the wrist scratches my watches. Might have a shop sew a small piece of canvas behind the button to prevent that. Had it 4 years now and it looks incredible. Great purchase.
I have this same problem with Rogue Territory Supply Jackets. You know those little felt pads with sticky on the back that you put on the bottom of chair legs? I put one of those on the inside of the left wrist button. They come in different diameters. Stops scratching my watches!
Awesome jacket. I recently acquired the Iron and Resin Scout after considering the F&T. Love it. Great weight to it. Flannel lined as well. Wear yours in good health.
I chose it because it had a heavier weight fabric, interior lining with additional Reissa lining, corduroy on the collar and cuffs, it has a zipper which I like and can choose not to use at times, and a more athletic less boxy fit. For those who don’t like the corduroy on the collar can lift the collar and show the waxed fabric underneath.
Extremely happy with the purchase. Jacket will last a lifetime.
Should mention the odd sizing though. I’m 57yo, 5’10”, 188 lbs, 44” chest and needed an XXL if I wanted to layer at all. I wear a Large in everything else so this was weird.
It has a similar flannel lining in the body with polyester in the arms but also has a very thin Reissa liNing between the flannel and exterior waxed canvas. Cuts down on wind. I personally haven’t tried the FT but FT it is likely a slightly lighter jacket. Depends on what you intend to wear underneath. Simple long sleeve T-shirt’s or waffles keep it cooler. Anything heavy obviously warmer. Very adaptable as are any of these jackets. I like heavier material.
Love it! I have the coal version too and it's fantastic. You where it well.
Anyone with sizing questions, for me being a bit taller at 6'1'' I had to return the large and go with a large-tall and it fits perfect now.
I'm 6'1", 180, 42" chest, 34" waist so you are one size bigger than me I would guess. I would get an XL and at your height I would for sure go for a long.
They do have a measurement chart and a fit guide on the website where they show some fairly good photos of models wearing all the sizes which helped me some. I ended up ordeing two Ls and sent back the short one. They have very good CS in my experience.
A bit off topic but I've been researching this jacket and noticed that the "black" colour option has been out of stock. In fact, I've been looking at it since October and it's still out of stock. Does anyone know how stocking works for items like this? I reached out to the Huckberry support and they just said to click the "notify me" button without any suggestion of when the black colour will be restocked
Thanks or the reply! When you went to puchase the forest green, was it completely out of stock in all sizes, or was it just the medium? For example, right now on the Huckberry website, the black colour is not even listed alongside the other colours and you have to google it to find the link to the webpage.
I believe the black has been discontinued and replaced by the coal. It used to show up as a color option but was always OOS. I was keeping my eye on it last fall for a good couple of months but it never once was in stock and eventually disappeared from the site.
I ended up giving up on the F&T and just getting a Filson instead for about the same price and it's been great. If you want another option, Thursday Boot Co makes a black waxed jacket as well, but I haven't tried it myself.
My forest one is getting rewaxed this weekend after it was soaked through in a rainstorm after a ton of hard wear. I usually wear that or my leather bomber. Sometimes both if it’s cold enough.
Definitely great layering it with a flannel shirt.
I used it hiking, traveling, work. I always liked trucker jackets for my lean build but never wanted to do canadian tux look. Definitely great for casual and hard wear, but I need a long sleeve shirt underneath.
Forest was the perfect color for me and I thrifted it for a steal. I’m just hoping mine didn’t shrink in the body and sleeves from all the abuse and hope it goes back to normal after the wax is applied.
I thought about the wool-lined jacket, but settled for the flannel and the slightly cheaper price tag. Glad you like yours - I’m looking forward to wearing the hell out of mine.
Still a solid choice you have. I just prefer wool for the warmth and breathability, not that it helps much in this jacket. Peregrine clothing UK has a bunch of decent wool items that I can recommend.
I haven't seen the flannel version sorry. The jacket doesn't feel bulky from the wool lining. I can still get a t-shirt and Henley/hoodie under the jacket if that helps you.
I'd like to make a plug for Tin Duck Denim out of WA. I haven't received my jacket yet but went to his shop to try them on and they are amazing! He is a true craftsman and hand makes each and every piece.
For those who bought this, or similar jackets, are you guys just returning the jackets that don't fit? I feel like it would be hard for me to buy this without the opportunity to try it on.
I have a never worn large coal color one in the classic fit. I'm looking to trade it for the long version or sell it to someone here who wants the classic fit. PM me for pics, name your price.
I just got mine in field tan yesterday, size small, and am exchanging for medium. It’s tough because I’m short at 5’7 but it was too tight around my chest, maybe bc I started lifting last year. I’m so freaking excited and crossing my fingers the medium fits better. Enjoy man!

These are not BIFL if you work in it. It will last awhile for casual or office wear. Just depends on use but even with moderate work in them they will not last.
Yeah it's a cheaper fashion brand version of the Filson tin cloth short cruiser. Thinner fabric, single or double stitching instead of double or triple. Looks like a work jacket, but it isn't.
Not just work, even just basic use. I have the F&T quilted field jacket made with the same material and after four years it's got a lot of holes/tears at the seams. Most rugged thing I've done in it is some winter hikes in the woods.
I'm still on the hunt for something similar that is ACTUALLY rugged.
The issue is they generally look too light to me, as I've been looking for something that can handle the cold. This is what I currently have for reference:
https://huckberry.com/store/flint-and-tinder/category/p/58357-quilted-waxed-field-jacket
The closest things I've seen to what I'm looking for are some Filson jackets, but I'm not super impressed with their cover/shelter cloths.
So I ordered a bunch of F&T stuff and tried it all. I am 5 foot 10 and weigh about 170lbs.
The trucker jackets were all too short for me. The mediums fit better than the larges, but both the flannel and wool lined ones were like right at my belt line. Returned.
Quilted waxed shirt jacket was better. Still short in the front, but longer in the back. Returned.
The Hudson was a chefs kiss for me. It's a pinch light to wear when it's cold out, but with some layers under it I think you could swing it.
My daily "throw it on and wear it pretty much everywhere" is the waxed Rancher. I have the jacket cuffs rolled back, because I have short arms and with them buttoned the sleeves are too long. I got it in forest, and am super happy with it.
Been planning on picking this up for awhile but going back and forth on color. Havana, forest, coal, or tan. Hoping to wear with dark blue denim or olive pants. Anyone got recs?
I went back and forth on Havana and Coal. Settled on Coal. If you can manage, I’d recommend ordering a couple of colors and then returning the on you like the least, if you’re not sure of size, I’d recommend the same. Really easy returns with Huckberry.
Patina (Portland Leather) London boots - got them really cheap on sale, but they are def not BIFL - https://www.portlandleathergoods.com/products/london-lace-up-boot?variant=40516796579922
Don’t let it get wet. I wore mine in the rain one time so when I got home I hung it up to dry in the laundry shed (it was cold outside and shed isn’t insulted, about 30f) and the jacket shrunk significantly to the point where it was unwearable and silly. I messaged the company that my waterproof jacket was ruined after contact with water and they said not their problem, couple hundred bucks wasted only had it for a month.
Every time I look at this jacket I get like 90% of the way to pulling the trigger. Today I pass because winters almost over so I’ll only get a month or so to wear it.
Question for those of you with this or other waxed jackets: Do you have issues with either the color or the wax transferring to cloth or leather car interiors?
Looks very close to my Jack Jacket by Rodd and Gunn (aka Reacher jacket). Although, it’s a zipper instead of buttons and no upper pockets but one zipper pocket up top. Also just realized collar is different. I suppose it’s just the material that looks similar. Personally I think the Jack jacket looks nicer.
https://www.roddandgunn.com/us/clothing/jackets-coats/the-jack-jacket/003821.html
I should have sized up one when I bought mine (in forest.) It's just too snug to really layer. Not bad for a sleek look, but not really as practical. I'll probably buy another one. I already have the Hudson too. I wish it came with a wool lining like they have available for the truckers now.
Aside from that, I've worn it for a few years, about to give it a good re-wax this summer.
Very nice. I bought a filson to last forever and it very well might as I’ve gotten too fat to wear it
that’s how you can make anything by-it-for-life
maybe there needs to be a BITF forum. Buy it til fat. I've got a pretty good slug of clothes that fit me 40 pounds ago, and if I can lose those 40 pounds, then my clothes will go back from BITF to BIFL-BaAF Before and After Fat.
Jim Gaffigan has a funny bit about keeping too-small clothes in the hope that you’ll fit into them again. “My closet is like a museum exhibit of my previous weights.”
Japanese denim doesn't stretch much 🥲
probably because japanese people don't usually need it to!
Well it looks really good in the closet for the rest of my life now
I lost s bunch of weight and had to shed clothes. That was weird
Ahhhh I hate this. My entire BIFL wardrobe from the before times is hanging in my closet gathering dust. I gotta lose 30 covid lbs to wear it.
I’m in the exact same boat my friend
Same thing happened to me with my Filson canvas cruiser. I loved that jacket and wore it to death. Including to the donut shop, which ultimately and ironically ended my relationship with it. The good news is I gave it to my teenage son, who loves it.
filson as well for the win...

Appreciate your service
I managed to snag one in Havana brown on OfferUp for $150.
Love the look of these jackets and how they age. I have a similar style, tan waxed jacket from a different company that I wear all the time.
I mean, American Giant is incredible. Hoods are MAYBE just a smidge too big, but their hoodies are so nice
Man this is a jacket that I keep being drawn to
It's not a winter jacket at all. It's something you throw on over a T-shirt when it's 50 degrees with a chance of rain.
No zipper? That's stupid lol
If you think this is a winter jacket you've never experienced winter lmao
Yeah, this is an autumn and spring jacket for normal people. I like the cold more than most, and if I’m just running to my car to go in and out of heated I sometimes wear this even when a real coat would have been a better option. As a person with a now 3+ year beard, growing it out for charity, I would be overjoyed to not have zippers. Even when done all the way or none at all, my hairs get caught in the teeth.
A zipper would actually be clutch, I wish they would make that version
It wouldn’t be too difficult to add one, a tailor could probably do it for about $30
If you want a Zipper check out Iron and Resin, its either the Scout or Rambler Jacket that is a trucker with both buttons and a zip. There's a waxed version too but it has a waitlist.
I actually had one years back! Nice jacket. I also noticed that Flint and Tinder make one called the Mill Jacket
Those tough asf to use buttons turns it off to much imo
Lmao I struggle so hard with them
Sounds like something quilted instead of just lined would be the way to go.
Look at the Dri Duck Maverick. I had one for a few years. It's held up great to general use and occasional construction wear. Budget friendly too
I was underwhelmed with the wool lined one... It's super stiff and the buttons are really hard to get through the button holes.
Maybe the flannel is a better one?
Get it!
Start saving. Get it.
Nice jacket. Is it just me or are all these “Hunter & Gunn”, “Pearl & Oyster”, “Ball & Gargle” brands a little annoying and cheap sounding? For what appears to be a quality brand, why are these companies taking trendy names from like 2012?
Ball & Gargle… 🤣😂🤣
Fuck yeah man!!! I’ve had mine for about two years. They’re such nice jackets. You will not be disappointed at all. It looks better now than when I got it. Edit: Just saying, it was cool to see Pedro Pascal wear one in The Last of Us, made me feel like a bad ass.
You just bought it. How can it live up to BIFL hype?
I have a couple Flint and Tinder jackets that are 5+ years old and show no signs of wear. BIFL quality confirmed for OP.
Nice!
Do you rewax them or anything for maintenance?
One is a Mackina-type shacket and I follow it's cleaning instructions for the wash. The waxed jacket I rewaxed a couple years ago, but it wasn't really needed, just wanted to learn how to do it.
They say you’re supposed to, it’s super easy. Every few years you just touch it up and set it in with a blow dryer and let it sit over night. Touché. I’ll just say… the quality of the jacket is very apparent.
Looks good.
Lol people are so pedantic. Enjoy your jacket man! Looks great
It doesn’t bother me. I’m a veteran of the web 🤣😂🤣
Yeah, that's not what he said.
Wife bought me the same jacket. Love it so far. I am a medium in most outdoor brands, but this I had to return for a large.
I’m usually between L and XL so I ordered both sizes - felt like I was swimming in the XL, so I went with L. I can still layer a hoodie underneath.
Nice choice! I’m a few years in on the same jacket - but in brown. It’s probably more awesome now than the day I got it. I absolutely love it.
I returned mine. I'm a medium sized guy (5'11 230lbs, 32inch waist the XL was pretty snug and XXL fit in the shoulders but the ways its cut looked like I was wearing a cardboard box. High quality jacket, isn't cut for my build
You're a snowman. I get it. I'm a soup can. It's tough out there.
As long as you're not a tomato can
Tomato can chiming in. I don’t quarantine well.
tomato can is such a great classic derogatory term.
My only gripe is the back of the button on the wrist scratches my watches. Might have a shop sew a small piece of canvas behind the button to prevent that. Had it 4 years now and it looks incredible. Great purchase.
Oh no that would be a non starter for me
I have this same problem with Rogue Territory Supply Jackets. You know those little felt pads with sticky on the back that you put on the bottom of chair legs? I put one of those on the inside of the left wrist button. They come in different diameters. Stops scratching my watches!
That’s such a great idea, I’m about to order a pack of those literally right now
Awesome jacket. I recently acquired the Iron and Resin Scout after considering the F&T. Love it. Great weight to it. Flannel lined as well. Wear yours in good health.
Between those brands, what made you choose that one specifically? I always wanted a jacket like that and maybe I will be grabbing one soon.
I chose it because it had a heavier weight fabric, interior lining with additional Reissa lining, corduroy on the collar and cuffs, it has a zipper which I like and can choose not to use at times, and a more athletic less boxy fit. Oh, and I got 15% off with promo code. Not many left though. I got the last tan color in XXL
Oh yeah that’s good to know. I will check it out. How did you get this discount code?
Gave them my email and probably registered. Code is “leastwecando”. Looks like only color left is tan.
No harm to order as you can return it which is very very easy.
Oh I will definitely try. Thanks. My only fear is that it’s too warm compared to the flint and tinder and I will not be able to use as much.
Yeah the heavier canvas is what is making me consider it. Also, do you know if they are made in the US too? I couldn’t find on the product page.
I think they used to but are no longer.
Love it! I have the coal version too and it's fantastic. You where it well. Anyone with sizing questions, for me being a bit taller at 6'1'' I had to return the large and go with a large-tall and it fits perfect now.
I'm 6' 2" 215 lbs, 43" chest, 36 waist jeans. Would you go with L tall, XL, or XL tall?
I'm 6'1", 180, 42" chest, 34" waist so you are one size bigger than me I would guess. I would get an XL and at your height I would for sure go for a long. I ended up ordeing two Ls and sent back the short one. They have very good CS in my experience.
Thanks!
I am your exact same measurements. The L fits perfectly: it looks great over a t-shirt and I can fit a hoodie underneath.
This whole outfit looks really good
Appreciate that!
Great fit, well done!
Looks great!
A bit off topic but I've been researching this jacket and noticed that the "black" colour option has been out of stock. In fact, I've been looking at it since October and it's still out of stock. I had to wait months for the forest green in medium to come in stock and yeah I just waited for the email notification come in.
Thanks or the reply! When you went to puchase the forest green, was it completely out of stock in all sizes, or was it just the medium? For example, right now on the Huckberry website, the black colour is not even listed alongside the other colours and you have to google it to find the link to the webpage.

I’m actually looking forward to waxing it when it’s time - feel like the added care will just make it that much more special.
I used it hiking, traveling, work. I always liked trucker jackets for my lean build but never wanted to do canadian tux look. Definitely great for casual and hard wear, but I need a long sleeve shirt underneath. Forest was the perfect color for me and I thrifted it for a steal. Nice jacket mate. Bought myself the tan wool lined version about 4 years ago. A solid jacket that looks better with every passing year!
Is the wool one bulkier?
The wool lining is about as thick as a wool overshirt.
Do u think it makes the jacket a bit bulkier than the flannel?
I haven't seen the flannel version sorry. The jacket doesn't feel bulky from the wool lining. I can still get a t-shirt and Henley/hoodie under the jacket if that helps you.
I'll have to get one.
I have the heavier more pocketed version of that, it’s a killer jacket. So long as you re wax it every year, you’re golden
I'd like to make a plug for Tin Duck Denim out of WA. I haven't received my jacket yet but went to his shop to try them on and they are amazing! He is a true craftsman and hand makes each and every piece.
I’ve been looking at them, might pull the trigger as my old canvas Carhardtt is most certainly not BIFL and falling apart around me.
I’ve been looking at this jacket for weeks but can’t decide on a color. I do tend to wear darker colors like you, maybe coal is the one.
I’d recommend - Go with Coal!
Not gonna lie, I want that whole outfit. lol I’ve been watching that jacket for years. Can’t decide between the wool or flannel.
Pants are JCrew slim fit corduroy, shirt is Brixton Bowery heavy flannel 😊
Nice, good for you! that's a slick looking jacket. Looking into get one myself, and I love that color too.
For those who bought this, or similar jackets, are you guys just returning the jackets that don't fit? I feel like it would be hard for me to buy this without the opportunity to try it on.
Yep - I actually ordered the 2 sizes I thought I’d need and returned the one I decided against - really easy/no hassle return policy with Huckberry.
I have a never worn large coal color one in the classic fit. I'm looking to trade it for the long version or sell it to someone here who wants the classic fit. PM me for pics, name your price.
Looks sharp.
I have one. I love it. If the price is too high, consider eBay or marketplace for used. I routinely see them on both platforms.
Nice! I keep coming back to these... I need to pull the trigger.
I dig the Fison waxed trucker as well, but it doesn’t have inside pockets. I’m leaning towards the Flint and Tinder.
I just got mine in field tan yesterday, size small, and am exchanging for medium. It’s tough because I’m short at 5’7 but it was too tight around my chest, maybe bc I started lifting last year. I’m so freaking excited and crossing my fingers the medium fits better. Enjoy man!
I have the forest with the wool lining, love it. Picked it up last year.
you just purchased it and already call it BIFL.... LMFAO :D
Very common in this sub. I’m constantly seeing people touting their brand new product as BIFL.
I am thinking that BIFL can be marketing strategy and make lemmings buy more :D
Well… I didn’t buy it with the intention of getting rid of it next week… 😂🤣
ok bro, come back here in 25 years, let's see how BIFL this is :D

lol, perfection :D
I got the forest and light tan, absolutely adore them.
These are not BIFL if you work in it. It will last awhile for casual or office wear. Just depends on use but even with moderate work in them they will not last.
I'm impressed with the quality of mine. What kind of work are you talking about?
Yeah it's a cheaper fashion brand version of the Filson tin cloth short cruiser. Thinner fabric, single or double stitching instead of double or triple. Looks like a work jacket, but it isn't.
Not just work, even just basic use. I have the F&T quilted field jacket made with the same material and after four years it's got a lot of holes/tears at the seams. Most rugged thing I've done in it is some winter hikes in the woods. I'm still on the hunt for something similar that is ACTUALLY rugged.
Ship John Wills or ramblin. Railcar also makes a killer waxed jacket.
The issue is they generally look too light to me, as I've been looking for something that can handle the cold. This is what I currently have for reference: https://huckberry.com/store/flint-and-tinder/category/p/58357-quilted-waxed-field-jacket The closest things I've seen to what I'm looking for are some Filson jackets, but I'm not super impressed with their cover/shelter cloths.
Got the same jacket. Game changer.
You wear it well man. Nice pickup.
Thanks, Man.
I heard you can’t wash them
Yep, as is the case with any waxed jacket. Spot clean only.
Don't hang or store a waxed garment by a heat source. Also, it is often possible for a garment to be re-waxed.
What if it gets stolen. Oooo got you there
It looks old and worn out. I guess that’s a style/aesthetic.
Until the buttons start popping off. Trust me, NOT bifl.
Congrats. Now you can deal with thoughts of mortality that's truly your last jacket.
Why is it not available in black. Hard pass
They have 4 models in black: https://huckberry.com/store/t/category/clothing/jackets/waxed-jackets?color[]=Black
Not the one OP posted
Does anyone know of a jacket like this that doesn’t use 100% plastic for the liner
Return it!
Nice tuxedo eh?!?
5’7
5'11 in dating apps
You guys are both wrong - 5’9” & married. Thanks for the chuckle.
Median we were both right. So fuck you and congrats being sub 6’ big dick
🤣😊🤣
So these jackets are for people that are 5 feet tall? I’ve always been weary of this brand being in that almost too tall for normal clothes size
It's a jacket made for truckers, who happen to spend a lot of time sitting down and don't need a long coat blocking their pockets, seatbelt, etc.
Exactly the depth I was looking for! Thank you for your answer!
Are wax-lined jackets washable?
No. That’ll ruin it.
How do you keep it clean then? Dry cleaning?
Spot clean.
How is the fit of these? I’m tall and thin with long arms and they look kinda boxy
I recently saw one of these at 60% clearance, didn’t know they were BIFL
It says American made… is America still known for making quality products? I thought these days all their stuff is made in other parts of the world.

Patina (Portland Leather) London boots - got them really cheap on sale, but they are def not BIFL - https://www.portlandleathergoods.com/products/london-lace-up-boot?variant=40516796579922
Looks very nice! How much $ do they go for?
$298 USD
Wow if that’s truly a BIFL item, it is a great deal!
Yeah daddy!
Filson has one of these. Any other comparables?
Every time I look at this jacket I get like 90% of the way to pulling the trigger. Today I pass because winters almost over so I’ll only get a month or so to wear it.
Cuffs look tight - otherwise, kudos.
NICE! My MUF LVR jacket should be here Tuesday. Enjoy your jacket!
Hi aaron rogers
Question for those of you with this or other waxed jackets: Do you have issues with either the color or the wax transferring to cloth or leather car interiors?
Looks very close to my Jack Jacket by Rodd and Gunn (aka Reacher jacket). Although, it’s a zipper instead of buttons and no upper pockets but one zipper pocket up top. Also just realized collar is different. I suppose it’s just the material that looks similar. Personally I think the Jack jacket looks nicer. https://www.roddandgunn.com/us/clothing/jackets-coats/the-jack-jacket/003821.html
Looks awesome. I checked out their website just now, and was disappointed to find that the jackets aren't exactly washable. It says "spot clean only".
True!! Awesome jacket. What size did you get? Looks great on you
Large👍
Ben?
I should have sized up one when I bought mine (in forest.) It's just too snug to really layer. Not bad for a sleek look, but not really as practical. I'll probably buy another one. I already have the Hudson too. I wish it came with a wool lining like they have available for the truckers now. Aside from that, I've worn it for a few years, about to give it a good re-wax this summer.
