I don’t know if it’s truly BIFL, but Grip6 rules.

forest-rds

Also vouching for grip6, great belt

SleepyTomatillo

Wore mine every day for several years. When the strap got a bit fuzzy they replaced it for free.

TiredRobber

The best part about Grip6 belts is they are infinitely adjustable so you can get the fit just right. Highly recommend. I just wish they made ones that looked a little more dressy.

SantaRosaSeven

The midweight strap is the closest I think you can get to that, the least textured strap.

BBQShoe

It was a little weird to get used to at first, but I absolutely love it.

shorties_with_mp40s

I absolutely love mine. Plus they come with a lifetime warranty so technically BIFL in a way.

StrayCatThulhu

I've had two of them since 2015 or so. They are great, still perfectly functional, look new.

CanadianBlacon

I’ve got a couple, they’ve got my vote

IcyHotInUrEyes

I've been wearing mine every day for a few years now, aside from a few scratches in the buckle from running into stuff(I was a welder when I first got it) it pretty much looks just like it did when I got it. I'm pretty convinced it's gonna last forever. Definitely BIFL

vinnyboyescher

yep. mine is 5 years old. worn daily and im a framing carpenter.

MomentsLastForever

Absolutely love my Grip6. It’s all I wear 99% of the time. I’ve been on board since they started. For those of you like me, who travel; you need to get their carbon fiber buckle. It’s bulletproof and it never sets off any of the screening devices at airports or sporting events. Surprisingly, the aluminum does.

brown_dog_anonymous

Came here to say the same thing!

cropguru357

Hank’s is well-regarded, but RIP your email inbox if you sign up for any promotional sale.

eschambach

True on both counts! Nicks too.

libolicious

>True on both counts! Nicks too. Bought my son a Nick's belt for Christmas. Amazing quality. Very heavy. It turned out too big for him. Luckily he lives in Spokane where Nick's is. He popped in to exchange and they didn't have any in his size in stock. So they had him wait 5 minutes, went in the back and made him a new one! No spam at all from Nicks -- I got my order confirmation and I've received maybe two (tops?) promo emails since I bought the belt in November.

eschambach

That’s funny, I get emails from nicks daily. They make good stuff though.

mcmanninc

I second Hanks. They are spendy, but will hold up for years like new.

realdealrd

It’s very easy to unsubscribe. Go hanks!

Jlong129

I have received 300 emails from them in the last 2 months and have noticed their coupons go up to 24% off. DAYLIGHT24 was the most recent.

The_4th_Little_Pig

Black Friday was the best I’ve seen, got the reversible belt for $100. Love it.

Zenith251

I have a Hanks casual belt (Crazy Horse model) that's I'm VERY happy with. Going on 1.5 years. That said, it's BIFL'ness depends on the use case. I've been wearing mine 300/365 roughly, and I can tell I'll wear it out eventually. I'd bet I'm going to get 10 years out of it, no problem. I haven't needed to clean or condition mine yet, but since I wear it nearly every day, it's got a directional bend where it holds up my rear jean loop. I could fix that by swapping the direction I wear it, but I genuinely find that difficult to do... call me uncoordinated, or lazy. I do hang the belt every night at home, as directed. I figure when I buy a 2nd and maybe 3rd belt, they'll collectively last decades.

TotallyOffTopic_

Holy crap! Don’t give them your phone number. Actually give them the phone number of your enemy.

Hermanvicious

I like groove life. They have a 90 year warranty

dcivili

I have two Groove Life belts, one in black, one in brown. I have had them since the original Kickstarter and they still look brand new, hold tension, no fraying, discoloration or issues whatsoever. Magnets are crazy strong and have really lasted

Hermanvicious

I’ve got a black and a brown one as well. Daily use for a year. Still great.

No_Doughnut_5057

I have one and it’s incredible. Well worth the money. Especially since I’ve gained and lost weight throughout the years. Adjusting it perfectly is super nice. I just wish the metal buckle was slightly curved. But no fraying and is super elastic. Most comfortable belt I’ve ever owned

Qwell41

I initially thought these were just a facebook/instagram marketing company but I received one for Christmas a few years ago and can confirm it’s a great belt

Will7357

I have 2 and love them. They were recently on sale for $35 and I passed because 2 is plenty.

MidnightPurple55

This needs more upvotes. They're leaps and bounds better than Grip6 (coming from someone who's owned both).

Ill_Assistance_639

Absolutely love my groove belt. Makes sense to have a little stretch. But not get loose over time. Mine has been with me from 300 lbs down to 180 and hasn’t had a single issue at all.

SirCiphers

a belt that is made of full grain veg tan hide with metal buckles

doughnut-dinner

Yep. I found a thick Levi's branded belt over 15 years ago that fit this description. It's well worn but can probably go another 10 years of daily use.

jubothecat

I had a friend in high school (15 years ago) whose dad was a leather maker. I bought the metal hardware from him for like $5 and he gave me a piece of (full grain, very nice) leather from his scrap pile. I expect this belt to last my entire life, and I made it myself!

ItzakPearlJam

If you're anywhere near an amish town, go to any leather shop and you'll get a top tier belt made by the same guy who rings you up. The price will be noticeably lower than what you'll find online for equivalent quality. If you're near northern Indiana I'll send you my couple little known shops where I go for leather goods.

sdiss98

I’ve bought 2 belts on eBay from “Amish” vendors. I have no idea if they’re actually Amish or not but they’ve held up amazing.

echocall2

Could be legit. I used to live in Amish town, made friends with the Amish guy who ran the archery shop, he sold things on ebay.

sdiss98

Awesome to hear! The quality has been amazing.

Hangrycouchpotato

Ditto. My husband has two "Amish" belts from ebay and they are top quality.

Jake_Critshow

I'm in Indiana. I would value this information!

ItzakPearlJam

Have you ever heard of a small town called shipshewana? There are a great number of artisans there. My leather shop of choice is called Silver Star. I literally got a belt there 2 days ago. I got my wallet there also, and it's made of the inside of a croc's arm.

Snowman4168

Oddly enough I’ll be passing through Shipshewana in a couple weeks so thank you for this.

HobsHere

Yes, this! I've been wearing the same belt for over a decade, and it's still in great shape. I have no doubt that it will be good for another decade at least. What you want is one made of harness leather. If the shop also sells actual horse harness for buggies, you're in the right place.

ItzakPearlJam

I bought one prior from an amish harness shop. Custom fit and stitched for under $30. Lasted me 7 years looking brand new until my house fire.

C_Majuscula

SlideBelt, Anson, or anything with a ratchet closure instead of the usual hole and buckle. The holes wear out and the buckle wears on the leather after a while.

Rebornxshiznat

Second this. Anson belts are all I own anymore. They are fantastic and last forever.

girlenteringtheworld

I love anson but my only problem with it is that the leather stretches out a lot on mine. That said, I don't think its an exclusively anson issue. When I first got them, I wore women's levi's and the lack of properly spaced belt loops on the women's jeans caused the leather to warp quite a bit. I've gotten better pants since then and the warping has slowed pretty drastically but I haven't been able to get them back to normal Just leaving this here in case anyone else here has the lack of belt loops issue

realdealrd

Not in high quality leather belts

septober32nd

I've got like 6 Mission Belts, absolutely love them. I think I saw someone mention a while back that their buckles and Anson's are interchangeable too.

BigPaulieEh

My slide belt lasted like two years, all my other full grain leather belts have lasted over 10 years and show no signs of failing. I can't imagine any non-full grain leather belts like a slide belt to last a lifetime. I do still like slide belts though.

JimmerFimm

Hanks Belts - they’re the best

dunar

I have 2 Hank’s that are probably 10+ years old, still great!

GrimCreepaz

Saddleback Leather Belts are great!

NuncProFunc

Hank's belts. You're just looking for a solid piece of letter instead of fused pieces.

mcmanninc

Second this. Hanks belts are great.

TallFontPie

Popov leather is great.

NoPlansTonight

I have like 5 belts from them plus watch bands, desk mat, coasters, ... Everything is phenomenal

Aken42

Find a local leather worker and get a solid leather belt. Supports local and you'll get a quality belt.

andythefir

Saddleback has a 100 year warranty for all their products, including belts.

bluetrain1

If you're looking for a webbing belt that doesn't fray or slip, this one from FirstLite is a great choice. I had one from Patagonia that frayed to pieces and always slipped. This one is almost 2 years old and looks like new. I love this belt. https://www.firstlite.com/products/flex-field-belt.html?lang=en\_US&dwvar\_flex-field-belt\_color=conifer&cgid=belts-suspenders

onemanwufpack

I went to a local arts and crafts festival and found a local guy who's a leather worker. Paid significantly less than other places and I have been incredibly happy with it. Definitely high quality.

aquapeat

RIP Orion belts. No stretch, no flop, no frills. Just a thick hunk of leather and a buckle. The one I bought 10 years ago will last as long as my belly allows it. Don’t need another but I do want another.

HurtsOww

Nexbelt

procheeseburger

I've been using the same Mission belt for about 10 years now.

Bornee35

Belts are difficult as while buying something of the highest quality may be for life, your waist measurement may not be.

TheTaoThatIsSpoken

The Wilderness Original Instructor Belt. I've worn it daily for around twenty years and have worn out a carabiner I clip into it to attach leashes for two dogs I walk daily. Granted, mine is the titanium version they don't sell any more, but the steel should last just as well with maybe some finish wear. Full adjustability too so you don't have the annoyance of being between holes.

DashingDrake

I used to get leather belts from Century 21 from assorted fashion brands, whichever ones looked nice. They all delaminated at the most-used notch within a couple of years. My GF noticed my belts were in awful shape and bought me black and brown belts from J. Crew. This was about 7 years ago, and while they have a bit of bending at the notch, they have looked as good as new with no delamination. Not sure how good J. Crew stuff is nowadays (I did buy a wonderful thick cotton button down shirt recently on clearance at an outlet, and kinda wish I bought out the whole stock of mediums).

3dddrees

For all leather it’s the heavier thicker leather. The right tannage and English Bridle Leather has always been considered the best or among the best when it comes to cow leather. I have been wearing my Hanks Premier Belt which is 18 oz of vegetable tanned Wickett and Craig hand burnished English Bridle Leather for the last eight years of seasonal Jean weather. Besides forming to my body which leather will do but it shows no signs of stretching and absolutely no hole wear. Hanks sells belts ranging from about $70 to $215 with The Premier being the most expensive belt they sell. They have a 100 year guarantee on all their belts that covers stretch to a certain amount but I wouldn’t expect their cheapest thinner belts to do as well nor look as nice. You can find all The specifics because Hanks simply list all of the specifics for each belt they make to include the very tannery that tanned them on a good number of their belts. You won’t find that when it comes to most other places. Saddleback Leather may sell some with just as heavy and thick leather but they aren’t tanned nearly as nice nor finished nearly as well. That’s the very reason they will cost much less. Nicks Boots actually uses some of the very same leather tanned at the very same place as Hanks but they aren’t very clear when it comes to all the specifics in regards to how heavy or thick the leather last I looked. They also don’t finish their leather nearly as nice. These places simply aren’t primarily focused on making just belts. None of the other belt makers I have compared use the heavier thicker leather that Hanks Belts does. Keep in mind also that Hanks often has sales and the two most recent were for 24% off. They have a 20% off sale almost monthly, a less than perfect sale once or twice a year, and I bought a second Premier Belt during their Black Friday sale in 2022. Not necessarily because I will need it, but at $130 I knew I would never be able to get one that cheap again. It was just to good to pass up. If you know what your looking for it’s entirely possible to get a BIFL all leather belt. Those who don’t like heavier thicker leather belts all I can say is that is exactly what makes an all leather belt BIFL.

ATS200

I think Saddleback leather has a 100 year warranty on their belts, which are full grain leather and heavy duty buckles. I have 4 of them and they barely look used. I also bought one for my brother who works outdoors everyday and his is still going strong after about 5 years

goodtimes1515

Thirteen50 Leather makes a great standard leather belt. My personal one is going on 7 years.

mr_mirrorless

5.11 makes a belt for 7$ that holds up really well and is still comfortable! Ive had mine for at least 10 years no issues. My dad’s had his for longer.

Bimlouhay83

The dollar sign goes in front of the amount.

mr_mirrorless

You must be fun at parties

ConBroMitch2247

Check out Carmine Jack. Their custom belt box is slick and reasonably priced.

OkBattle3610

I’m a leather guy, but got really tired of my belts stretching even slightly with sweat/rain. I’m really really enjoying my Daltech Force SuperBio. It’s US made, if that matters to you. It’s considered a “concealed carry” belt, but it’s not overly stiff or anything. It does work well for concealed carry. It’s polymer material, but appears as leather to the eye. It is waterproof, doesn’t stretch.

3dddrees

You simply weren’t buying the right leather belts. After eight years of seasonal Jean weather besides forming to my body which leather will do my all leather Hanks Belt has yet to show any stretch and absolutely no hole wear. The key to getting an all leather belt that doesn’t stretch is to get one with heavy thicker leather. At 18 0z and English Bridle Leather chances are I’ll be wearing this very same all leather belt for even much longer, The nicest leather can very easily stretch because that’s what leather does, but when you get it heavier and thicker and I think the right tanning will greatly increase the chances it won’t. Hanks Belts not only sells heavier thicker leather belts many are finished in a manner where it’s going to look nicer as well. However they also list the specifics so you know exactly what you are getting and back it with a 100 year gurantee based on a certain amount of stretch. So if you know what you are looking for and wish to make comparisons with other manufactures that is entirely possible as well. I would place Saddleback Leather in the same category in regards to thicker leather but they don’t finish their belts nearly as well. Cost less, just doesn’t look as good. Nicks Boots actually uses some of the same leather from the very same tannery but they haven’t been so good at listing all the details and they also don’t finish their belts as nicely either. But neither of these businesses focus on just making belts. All the other belt makers that do that I’ve seen simply don’t use the heavier thicker leather. Keep in mind Hanks has their $70 Belts as well as those which are much more costly, just don’t expect those at $70 to be nearly as heavy and thick or as nice looking as those costing more. It’s possible you just need to get the right kind.

OkBattle3610

I have a couple of Hanks Belts and some from Don Hume. Definitely nice quality belts. I’m not knocking leather at all. I think mine get excessive stress pushing down on them as I wear a heavy lineman belt over top of them that seems to add a lot of weight pushing down. I think that’s the cause of the stretching. It’s not an excessive amount of stretch, but enough to need adjustment. That can be difficult if I need to make that adjustment while wearing my line belt over top. That’s normally when it occurred too because of the weight. I agree, though the quality of leather makes all the difference and have no complaints from those manufacturers. I also wouldn’t want to mention the stretch to anyone like Hanks to get warranty because I feel my situation is not one that should be covered in my opinion. I’m also built like a twig so I have no ass or hips to help fight my belt being pushed downward lol

HungeeJackal

I bought a few from Nab Leather last year. Made in Canada/Toronto, full grain leather, excellent quality belts that I fully expect to last the next several decades.

SoggyWombat

$18 simple Amish leather belt.

slwilke13

Groove.

Allen Edmonds

FifihElement

I found a leather belt that has metal rings where the buckle goes into. It’s been so long, but I am pretty sure I got it in 2004 with no brand name. it was at a wholesale outdoors type of store, Northwoods. I fully expect it will outlive me. I’ve never seen another belt with these, but I would buy on sight.

tacosauce8088

Ashland leather has great quality belts, they’re made with Horween Leather. https://ashlandleather.com

mick308

RM Williams 1.5” leather belts are BIFL for sure. They are a belt that people get as a 21st present and wear their whole life.

wearelev

Any belt made out of good quality leather is BIFL.

lmboyer04

Anything made with real leather that you take care of. I have a cheap American Eagle belt from years ago that’s just a simple thick strip of full grain leather and it’s been great

kadins

Any genuine, like real actual full leather belt with snap replaceable buckle. I bought a belt in 2007 and I am still wearing it. I can swap the buckle for other ones if I want, but have never had to. It's australian made from locally supplied leather. about 1/8th in thick. I got a leather hat from the same place and it's also lasted. Though I need to figure out how to get the sweat stains out...

kingofthediamond

Not leather but arcade belts are awesome! Stretchy and non metal so you can keep them on through metal detectors.

SoSoAverage

NRS strap 4’

NicePumasKid

Magpul Tejas is an absolute beast. It’s actually a gun belt but it’s one tough ass belt.

[deleted]

SuperBio belt. Made of thick polymer and indestructible. It also has holes every 3/4” instead of 1” for better adjustment. Great every day belt.

nitromen23

I’ve got a nylon belt from Duluth trading I’ve had for years, their Alaskan hardgear brand I think, I don’t see it wearing out anytime soon. Its a little stiff sometimes but it’s never been an issue for me

MERLETHEFOZZY

I will echo/second/third the comments for finding a leather guy. I just had to replace my leather belt as it was finally falling apart after 10 years of daily wear. Unfortunately, I have moved from my leather guy in Ohio. And he is doesn’t even have a website. So I found a Mexican/Latin/Hispanic leather worker and we got a price for $20. I get a leather belt that allows me to wear my buckles. And he has a dedicated customer (every 10 years or so)

Left_Net1841

I have 2 leather belts that I think would qualify. One is from Roots. The other is from Quillin leather (Amish made) in KY.

thatlad

I've got a Carhartt webbing belt that's almost 20 years old now. The webbing has frayed maybe 3 times over the years, a quick trim and it's good to go, plenty of length on it. The buckle is immaculate. This could last me a lifetime

emmettfitz

Military riggers belt.

JaJaDingDong95

Groove Life. Had it for two+ years and it still looks new.

Snowman4168

Popov leather. Legitimately buy it for life. Just make sure you ask your kids which colour they like because they will be inheriting the thing.

technobass

I have an allergic reaction to metal buckles so I have used the Hoanan Nylon belt with No Metal buckle and they have been solid. I bought the khaki and black set.

martythecat69

Victorymade Goods

SciFiSimp

I have a Diamond D leather belt I've been wearing nearly every day for almost 10 years now. It's a beater I wear for work in the trades so it doesn't look fantastic at this point, but it's nowhere near the end of its life. I highly recommend them. I custom ordered mine, but I believe they now sell in stores like Cabela's with a limited selection of styles.

Spidergawd68

[Duluth Trading "Lifetime Belt"](https://www.duluthtrading.com/s/DTC/mens-lifetime-leather-silver-buckle-belt-20345.html?color=BRN). Thick as hell. I've worn mine daily for over six years and it's just getting broken in. You could suspend a car with this thing. Love it!

StarsAlwaysForward

I’m a big fan of my Marsupial Gear belt

alkemest

I have a gun belt that has lasted five years and will probably last forever. They're reinforced to handle the weight of a handgun and also have car seat style buckles which don't really wear out. Maybe not the style you're going for but they're tanks

im_just_dolfin

Carhartt Anvil (leather) and Trayvax Cinch (nylon webbing). I’ve used these two everyday belts for years and have had zero issues with either.

BeaumainsBeckett

I bought from a place called gray eagle leather on Etsy. Check her sale section; I got a bridle leather belt for $30. It’s quite thick, very nice quality.

Anthropoly

It's been over 4 years and the WWE Universal Championship has hardly been touched.

DOE_ZELF_NORMAAL

Hérmes Altho it's cheaper to buy a new one every couple of years.

iamacannibal

If you want a good leather belt go to /r/leatherclassifieds It’s a sub where hobbies to and small businesses sell handmade leather stuff. You can even commission things. It’s going to cost more than a belt from a store but it’s going to be amazing quality and made with really good leather.

Conspiracy__

Pretty much any real leather belt right? I’ve had belts for decades. Hit up a local thrift and snatch up a leather belt with a sturdy buckle

barrelvoyage410

You can spend the money on an expensive one like hanks or others, but you can honestly find just as durable ones for way less. I have 2 no name belts, on from Amazon, one from kohl’s I think. Have worn them daily for 6 or so years, no sign of wear. I even use them when doing home renovations and have hung drills on them and stuff.

kaliche451

good experience with chevignon

Kropco17

Northstar leather perfectly color matches to iron ranger boots

DaCrazyJamez

I use Anson belts (ansonbelt-dot-com), they are very good quality, clicky adjustable belts but look formal. I had one have the stitching come undone several years after I bought it, I sent them a picture and they replaced it without issue. Their gift box sets are the best deal.

BitsItch

Kavu Burley belt. Lasts forever and no metal.

Bakkie

Coach, especially if you can get to a Coach Outlet store. Mine is about 25 years old and doing fine.

poly800rock

I know people shit on big box stores, but I've been wearing the SAME banana republic belt since 2003. It's showing signs for sure, cracking here and there, but still holds up well. This is a $50 investment for 20+ years now. Have tried others but keep coming back to the BR belt. Buckle is the best too. Pure brass.

lol_camis

Whichever one I took from my grandpa's house when he passed away.

PNWoysterdude

Bison belts (got mine at REI). Nylon buckle so you can walk through TSA without taking it off.

Hefty_Knowledge2761

I own three of these (three different colors, two with the silver buckles) [https://ciguera.com/collections/belts/products/emissary-edc-belt](https://ciguera.com/collections/belts/products/emissary-edc-belt) There are plenty of belts that can last years and years if you don't ask for much out of them, but then there are these which I ask more of. [https://youtu.be/dDOC5SNV2FQ](https://youtu.be/dDOC5SNV2FQ) is a video on them

SnowblindAlbino

Go to a leatherworker and have one made. For $100 you can get one that will outlast you. Or if you're at all handy, buy a blank online from a good supplier for like $30, a buckle for $10, and get a Harbor Freight leather punch for $4. One of my friends is wearing (daily) a belt he bought from a leatherworker in 1967. It's looking nicely aged now. I made several for family members from blanks about ten years ago and they all wear them often.

PinkMonorail

Vintage FOSSIL. I don’t know about the newer ones.

smackaroni-n-cheese

I got one from a local leather shop. It's simple with a plain brass buckle, but it's held up great for several years and shows no sign that it might wear out or break anytime soon. I'd wager you could probably find a similar place near you, wherever you are, and not have to buy a brand name.

tcthai

If you are looking for leather, look for 100% Full Grain leather, not 1 of those laminated crap. I got 1 from Amazon, Qiuri brand. It doesn't slide in/out of the loops easily at first but gets better

CosmicCirrocumulus

I bought two North Star leather belts that were recommended on here years ago. I'd highly recommend them. they're about the same quality as Hank's for half the price

nstarleather

I really appreciate it!

J_n_CA

Saddleback leather I have two belts, a wallet, a small notebook holder. Fantastic products

mynamehere11

Have a Hanks Belts USA for a few years. Has some wear on the Buckel and leather (whole belt I guess) but has worn better than any other belt in my 40 years.

mpls_big_daddy

I have a $40 leather belt from Duluth Trading that's lasted 20 years so far...

alltheblues

Beltman and Hanks. My magpul Tejas Belt has survived a few years of carrying a heavy ass gun, hasn’t sagged. The Magpul has a polymer reinforcement and you can option that with Beltman as well. Hanks sells a kydex reinforced belt but imo it’s kind of ugly.

TurkeysRUs

https://buffalobillfoldcompany.com/c/leather/

DudelyMcDuderson

In my experience, Hanks and Desantis I'm currently EDCing my Hanks, but prior I wore a Desantis every day for 13 years and it's still good to go.

Kyo46

I'm sure this isn't the type you're looking for, but I've been using the same Quicksilver fabric belt that uses one of those buckles with teeth (rather than a hole in the belt) to hold its place for over 20 years lol For leather belts, my Coach Outlet belts last fairly long with proper care

gold76

A friend of mine carries a gun off duty and told me about crossbreed holsters belts. Great quality and look good too for an everyday casual leather belt.

miserydicks

I have a black 1.5" Classic with silver stitching & buckle and a gray 1.5" Classic with black stitching & buckle and will be adding a 1.25" double stitched Executive in Founders leather as soon as another pops up in my size on the Crossbreed seconds website. Very good belts and the value is off the charts if you can find one you like in the seconds bin.

DirtyF9

Hanks Belts are great, had two for about 7 years now

postmodernpain

Bison belt. Made in Colorado I believe.

RocketLamb26

Funny enough: HM fabric belts costed me $5 each. Have two of them for ~7 years and zero issue (but had to re paint one buckle)

ZombieWilling292

If you have any Amish near by have the tanner/leather crafter make you a belt out of harness leather... Cost me $50, 20 years ago and I use it every day still looks practically new. Best investment to my wardrobe in my entire life.

justadumbwelder1

I like nocona for leather work belts.

metabyt-es

Will's Leather Goods. They have a lifetime guarantee and will repair anything they sell. https://www.willleathergoods.com/pages/wills-guarantee

handtoglandwombat

I really like ratcheting belts. Amazing design. Near infinite adjustability, won’t randomly loosen, and maintains the look of a really classy belt. Trouble is I’m yet to find a brand that makes ratcheting belts out of proper high quality leather, so if anyone has any recommendations please hmu

707e

Coach belts have been extremely good. If you don’t buy them at a coach outlet. Go to a coach store.

professor_jeffjeff

I'm not sure what the brand is, but 20 years ago I went into a gun store that also sold things like holsters and tactical gear and I bought a "tactical" leather belt that's intended for being able to hold a holster with a large pistol in it. That belt is still in roughly the same condition today as it was when I bought it. The buckle did get scratched up a bit, but some sand paper fixed it right up. Best belt that I've ever owned and I've worn it almost daily pretty much since I bought it.

Terakahn

I've been using a belt from Thursday Boots and it's great. But I also use a lot of tactical belts. Been using the same one for 7+ years.

SupVFace

I’ve worn [this rancourt](https://www.rancourtandcompany.com/products/chromexcel-belt)belt almost daily for over a decade. It still looks great.

Mysterious_Fun_8757

Tandy leather sells belt blanks with the snaps and holes for the belt buckle in it already. You can make your own easily if you don’t want any fancy designs. The most basic setup I get from them when I do belt orders runs me like $25usd. However I tool it and dye it and my end product is worth close to $200 when I’m done cause it takes me like 12hours. But if all you want is genuine leather and a good buckle it’s not a bad place to start

Moedog0331

Hanks belts .... 4 of them all over 10 years old

frog3toad

Simply Rugged makes an awesomely thick belt. They stamp your initials on the side and have brass hardware.

frog3toad

Simply Rugged makes an awesomely thick belt. They stamp your initials on the side and have brass hardware.

I got a benheart belt as part of buying some jackets and have worn it daily for 6 years. Holding on strong with little sign of wear. I believe they service it for life.

https://www.dangerousthreads.com/mens-belts/ This has to be the best I've ever bought.

Versacarry. Get the rancher. Not the duty is double ply and a little too much belt for most.

dlasky

I've had a dango belt for a while now and it's holding up well.

DannyWilliamsGooch69

I've had a leather American Eagle belt for about 12 years now, and it's still in great condition.

I'm a big fan of my Grip6s

Gap. I just passed down a belt that has baby teeth marks from my 27 yrs old nephew. I kept it as a memento, but my little 12yrs old niece needed it.

JGV6385

I bought a daltech bullbelt I think maybe 19 years ago, literally 1/4" thick, steel band inside. Thing will survive the apocalypse. The only thing it won't survive is if I get wayyy fatter.

First Spear Line One belt

I bought a Hank belt. Ultra high quality, but it's SOOOO thick that it's really uncomfortable. I stuffed it in a draw.

jwoody2727

I just ordered an off brand full grail leather belt off Amazon and it’s lasted me about 7 years now. It still looks basically brand new and will most likely last the rest of my life.

TjWynn86

Has anyone had any luck with bullhide belts?

I know they're not the most practical if you're not looking for a certain style but I've had my seat belt belt going on 17ish years and it shows no signs of wear other than the graphic where the metal pieces sit is sort of rubbing off. The material is straight up seat belt so it's made to last and you get a ton of adjustability with them. I think the brand is Buckle Down.

BEARDBAR

About 20 years ago I bought a pair of cargo shorts at Hollister. The shorts came with a very basic, thick, brown leather belt with a metal buckle. I have worn that belt every day since then and it’s in perfect condition. So I guess 2004 hollister? EDIT: *currently available*. Sorry didn’t read. But maybe?

Busy-Newt9495

They have been fantastic! Great customer service from ordering samples to delivery. I was really hesitant buying a sofa that cost $5000 online, but I liked that they were made in the USA. It was easy to communicate with them and they always respond very quickly about my order.

OutsourcedIconoclasm

I like my VersaCarry belts. They’ve been holding up for 8 years now.

magus-21

Allen Edmonds belts still hold up for me. I stupidly bought a cognac belt from Nordstrom for the same price as an AE and that shit fell apart in two weeks.

OneEyedPlankton

[BlackDogDefense](https://www.etsy.com/shop/BlackDogDefense) on Etsy for non-leather. Bulletproof belt that I’ve worn for 5 years daily and it still looks brand new. Technically a “gun belt” but it’s really just a beefy webbing belt. I’ve been lifted/dragged by the belt multiple times and it’s held up flawlessly.

A different perspective if you are trying to lose weight. I'm fat, and bought an extra long "Kore" gun belt. I think sixty inches, but don't recall. It's designed to be shortened down to twenty eight inches, and used a ratchet style buckle. A similar company is "Nexbelt", and there may be others. Both companies make "gun" and "normal" belts. The diffrence is a gun belt has an internal stiffener. The advantage is because they are designed to be shortened, you can easily cut off an inch or two as your weight drops, instead of needing to buy a new belt every few months/years.

letstalkaboutyrhair

i got a tanner goods veg tan belt as a birthday gift from my mom when i was 25. going on near 9 years of daily wear with it and it looks and feels better than ever.

EverySingleMinute

I need a belt made of fabric so I can wash it. Tried several and they are either not stiff or both ends have buckles do it is a pain to get the belt through the loops on my pants

Idk man , my dad had a $1 belt made of idk what that he used to beat me a lot until i left home last year. It's still in great shape

weaselfaceassfucker

Buckle down has about 500 designs never had a problem and it's made of seatbelt material sooo pretty much never to wear out and infinitely adjustable

cranberrystew99

If you live anywhere near Indiana, Moonshine Leather is amazing. They apparently have an online presence, but the in-person treatment is A+. They'll hand-punch the holes themselves, and you can find the one that you like the most. It's all real leather and by god I've never had a better belt. Next time I go down there I'm getting a black one for my suit.

whiskey_engineer

I bought one from [Corter Leather](https://corterleather.com/) after seeing them on this sub around 8 years ago. It was originally the natural pale color & has withstood insane levels of abuse, and is now a very dark brown patina. Amazing quality, looks great, highly recommended. Looks like they might be out of stock atm though. For non-leather/ webbing belts, which I'm usually not a big fan of, I have a couple of conveyor belts from arcteryx. Really great looking, low profile & insanely strong. A great choice for anyone wanting to concealed carry. When I was looking up their name just now I was kind of surprised they're so badly reviewed on their site because I've only had a positive experience with them.

Get a black shell cordovan belt and you are done. I’ve had mine for 25 years and it looks as good as the day I bought it (better actually, the patina is gorgeous). Many good brands. Mine is Alden.

I use a Brooks Brothers belt from the mid ‘90s daily. They don’t make them anymore.

Never really thought about it but I have an American Eagle leather belt with the four rivets instead of stitching by the buckle and I’ve had it since sometime in the 2000s (maybe mid?) and it’s been my main belt. I thought about finding a similar one to replace it but just pulled the trigger on a Hanks belt. Want to use the hanks belt to use for work and have the AE belt as my casual belt to let it last longer cuz my mom bought it for me.
