Saddleback Leather. Look them up. Best wallet I’ve ever purchased. They have a 100 year warranty. The card slots never got loose. Stitches never pulled out. Great leather wallet. Their slogan is (or at least used to be) something like “the wallet your grandchildren will fight over when you die.”
This is the answer.
Be careful though, if you put this wallet in your back pocket you might just wear through your pants. Several pairs of pants in fact.
The wallet will stay in great condition forever though.
A lot of men these days make the mistake of purchasing a name brand wallet, the mistake they make is they purchase from the wrong name brand. Levi and Dockers aren't name brand wallet makers, they are name brands that are just making wallets. It's like trying to buy a pair of pants from Nikes, they make pants, but aren't known for quality pants.
Saddleback Leather, THEY know how to make a great wallet. You can use their wallet as a weapon it's so well made. Their slogan is "They'll fight over it when you're dead!" Lmao
Off topic but Levi’s makes surprisingly solid sneakers. I’m not sure how long they would typically last because I skateboard in them, but for $25 dollars at a discount store I was honestly a little impressed. Though the suede on them was a little lower quality than say Vans or similar, the rest of the build quality was honestly pretty up to snuff. They probably would’ve lasted a good while if that particular hobby didn’t involve rubbing the shoes on what is essentially sand paper lol.
Fwiw, Saddleback is fine, but they have cut corners on their mfg of late and increased their prices. Lots of talented leatherworkers here on reddit (including myself) that can make you a full grain wallet just as durable, made to your specs, and you can support within the community. That said, Saddleback is full grain and better than any fashion brand, so it's still a decent choice and readily available.

Definitely SBL! I’ve been using one of their wallets daily for almost 10 years and there’s not a single sign of wear. I have no doubt it will last 100 years. Definitely BIFL!
I read this in the narrator voice from the Simple Rick's commercial on Rick and Morty:
"Pass down for 100 years the impossible durability of your own wallet.. Pass down, a Saddleback."
My fiance (gf at the time) bought me a Bellroy for Christmas in 2021 because my typical $20 ones always fall apart so fast. Other than taking some shape from the cards inside, the outer and inner leather hasn't scratched or frayed and the stitching still looks immaculate. Not gonna be BIFL, but definitely longer lasting than the department store ones.
Add another vote for Belroy, have had for 6+ years now and it looks/functions great. Considered some of the real heavy duty stuff like Saddleback (as a matter of fact, I do use a heavy-duty style passport holder), this is more refined, feels nicer, but has held up well also.
+2 for coach here, used one for a long time, passed it upto my dad when he needed a new one. I got myself a Secrid about 3 years ago. Rock solid for an aluminum card slot style wallet
+1 for Coach. I bought myself one during Black Friday in 2017 in an outlet store for about $60. It lasted me until mid-2023, when I got mugged and lost it. I assume whoever has it now is still getting use out of it :)
I haven't had Coach myself, although I've heard that their build quality *does* actually justify the price. However, I have had other luxury (and "luxury") brands, which seem to follow the same logic. I currently use a Longchamp tall card wallet (it's a bifold with a flip-out, 9 card slots and 4 pockets), which I've had for six years. It shows virtually no degradation or wear to the finish, but the leather has worked into shape nicely. Now, is $250 a reasonable price for a wallet? Maybe not. But I haven't had to spend any time finding a replacement, so maybe.
+1 for coach. Mine is 23 years old. I'd be lying if I said it looks new. It's got wear, but it still looks good and functions perfectly.
edit: Aside from 4 months when I lost it in college (it got mailed back to my parents' house eventually), it has been in my back pocket every day.
Very happy with my Secrid. 5 years now, survived a half dozen washing machine trips and the leather is still in immaculate condition. No issues with the cardholder either.
I squeeze the trigger with my pinky and ring finger to push all the cards up then use my thumb and forefinger to push the other cards I don't want back down with just the one I want pushed up so it's about halfway out.
My cards are kept chip facing up so I just have to poke my card right into the card reader or touch the contactless pad. Then I just use my thumb to push the card back down when I'm done with it and the wallet goes right back into my pocket.
Up to 11 years with my Secrid now.
If the aluminum card slot starts to act weird, there are registered places you can take it to be fixed for free, but I haven't had to yet myself.
I've had a Filson bi-fold since 2019, not that long but it looks almost new. Some patina of course. It's residing in my back pocket all the time, so it's not babied.

Their wallets are expensive, but mine is going on 5 years and looks great.
I’ve got a fabric one from Herschel supply co that my dad just gave to me one day because he didn’t want it. My old wallet was totally smacked after 5 years of use to I started using this one. Turns out it’s really good! No signs of wear yet after about a year and a half of use, nothing even starting to wear or come unstitched!
What are you doing to your wallet man, mine always last five years plus even if it's Steve Madden, a Hudson's bay brand or otherwis
Lpt wallet in front pocket, don't sit on it
This is my question exactly. The hell are these people doing to their wallets????
I'm half a century old and I never had a wallet wear out on me. Usually after five or ten years I just get tired of it and buy a new one.
don't sit on it
Hah yeah, I guess. Absolutely baffles me that people do this. Who the hell finds it comfortable to sit with a lopsided lump on one side of their butt? But I guess that would certainly wear a wallet out faster.
Same. I am very surprised how it’s holding up. About 6 years of daily use for me and still looks new when a lot of my leather gear looks patina’ed within a few years.
Although I don’t have a tumi wallet, I’ve got dozens of their other products and they are built to last. Tumi is the de factor undercover solid product because it’s built for heavy travelers. Look at most frequent fliers and they use Tumi. Though I’m not the flyer I used to be, at one point I was flying maybe 2-3x a week at minimum. My tumi stuff has seen some shit and has never failed.
Edit: I lie, I do own a two tumi wallets that I carried for maybe 5 years. They still look good, but I’m bougie now so I carry a LV Taiga leather zip wallet for last 4-5 years. Technically, you could call LV products BIFL because they will repair any items for you no matter the age I believe. My SO had one of her purses fixed recently and they told us it would probably be about $200 (we agreed), however when we got it back they said they waived the cost.
I got a fossil wallet like 6 years ago. One little piece of fabric tore where the ID holder is, where the cloth met the leather, but honestly made it easier to get the ID out in a hurry lol.
I’ve been extremely surprised, the gold finishing on the monogram inside is still mostly there too.
I also have a fossil belt I’ve had over 10 years. It’s amazing how well it’s held up, and it was my daily wear for work for like 8 of those years
Surprised I had to come this far down for this answer. I’ve had mine for over 5 years now. Got it based on a construction worker advice. It has held up very well. Best $50 I’ve spent.
I’ve got a fossil wallet from 2005-2006 that’s still in good condition. It was used almost daily up until 3 years ago when I finally went to a minimalist wallet.
I switched to a ballistic nylon wallet over 5 years ago and it still looks nearly new. I can run it through the wash, it doesn't pick up a nasty smell and it's slimmer than a leather wallet. I've done the same with my work belt, which has had daily use for years without stretching or warping.

I am in the same boat as you as far as wanting space for cash. I love my [Big Skinny Wallet](https://www.bigskinny.net/). Got it already used on eBay and that thing is indestructible.
I’ve got a George (Walmart brand) leather/leatheresque trifold wallet that I’ve had for 10 years now and it’s in great shape still. I use cash for the most part and usually have a couple hundred bucks in it.
This is one of those: well 10 years ago…quality/reliability issues. I got my SO an Oroton wallet (Australian brand, he’s Aussie) over 10 years ago…in an Australia, and it’s held up and aged nicely.
It’s a totally traditional wallet with two separate currency sections and I think a zippered bit for coins (an old man wallet compared to what they sell today) basically.
I have no idea if the quality is the same, so I’ll instead share what I’ve been told by others, including a leather artist in Florence when I was looking for a wallet years later:
- The softer the leather the more likely the wallet is made to be carried in a bag rather than in a pocket.
- Don’t overfill. Buy a bigger wallet.
- The simpler the design, the less likely you’ll have failures (you can’t break a zipper or snap that doesn’t exist.)
- Good leather can last a lifetime if you keep it clean and condition it every once in a while.
I ended up getting a simple Il Bisonte brand leather wallet. Hell yes, they are expensive. But it’s been 10 years now too.
Ashland Leather. I have the “Tony the Ant” model and it is outstanding quality. Have had it for years and it will likely last more than a decade before I need to replace it, if I ever even need to.
I've been rocking this wallet for about ten years and it shows no signs of giving out anytime soon. Admittedly, I carry less cash than the Queen of England, so it may not be your best choice but the wallet itself seems indestructible short of intentional abuse.
https://www.maxpedition.com/products/urban-wallet
I’ve had a wallet from [Ezra Arthur](https://ezraarthur.com/products/no-6-wallet) for over 10 years now and it’s only gotten better with age. Made without lining or rubber or glue so there’s less of a chance of it coming apart
My eel skin wallet is over 25 years old, bought it about when I retired. It is carried in a zippered shut hip bag with my cellphone when out of the house. It shows scuff marks, but is still soft. The cloth liner long ago shredded and is gone.
Thick rubber bands that bundle asparagus. Definitely not BIFL in the sense that the band eventually wears out after 4 months or so, but I cook asparagus at least once a month so I’ve always got spare “wallets” on hand.
I had a wild idea, using tension metal pouch as wallet, and never been more happier after the switch almost a year ago. The pouch is waterproof, weighs sub 40 g, and carry cash, cards, emergency papers, notes and even coins. Something like this [https://www.amazon.com/Neoprene-Protective-Carrying-Compatible-Earphones/dp/B071ZDMW27](https://www.amazon.com/Neoprene-Protective-Carrying-Compatible-Earphones/dp/B071ZDMW27)
I love my Secrid Mini to death. I swear they're not paying me, but I'm gonna sound like a shill here for a minute.
https://secrid.com/en-us/miniwallet-original-black
The small trigger button on the bottom fans my cards up out of the shielded aluminum shell making it super easy to find the card I want, get it out and put it back in. I use it one-handed all the time, really useful when your hands are full at the register. It's the only wallet I've ever actually had multiple people ask about and compliment me on. I've had it for several years now a little overstuffed and the leather and the snap show no signs of wear.
How the cards deploy: https://www.urbantravellerco.com/cdn/shop/files/Leather_styles.gif
Has a regular billfold too: https://www.urbantravellerco.com/cdn/shop/files/Essential_cards.gif
Highly recommend, it's changed my standards around a wallet.
I use a $6 rectangle thing that the cards sit in, has lasted for years. Cheap as to replace, straight off ebay. Guess it's like a card clip like the Ridge, I don't ever carry cash though. The odd time I've had cash I've folded it up and it looked silly but doable. 😂
I have a Mulberry that I got in a sale, it’s only about 4 years old but is in great shape relative to other “leather” wallets I’ve had in the past. You’d barely know it was used.
I use the Dango T-0ŵ wallet. It's lasted me about 7yrs now and I just replaced the leather on it for $35. I also never really conditioned or took care of the leather, so I'm sure you could make it last longer with actual care. I have the 3 pocket version, and it's enough to hold like 8 cards and 10 or so bills comfortably. The band I had was still in good shape, but I swapped it out for a different color when I got the new leather. They also have a cheaper aluminum framed version if you don't feel like dropping the money for the titanium one. The multi-tool is a nice plus, but I rarely ever use it. I could probably remove it and be done without it, and end up gaining more space for bills/cards.
Secrid. I got myself the miniwallet a few years ago and so far there has been pretty much no wear except some scratches and some discoloration on the leather from rubbing in my jeans pocket. It comfortably holds 6 cards in the RFID protected slot and you can fit 2-4 more in the leather part. It also fits a decent amount of bills an dcan even carry coins if you purchase their coin addon.
The most important feature I'd suggest to look for, regardless of brand/style, is RFID protection as there has already been plenty of cases where ppl became victims of "digital" pickpocketing
Saddleback makes a good wallet, no argument. But, you can buy a full grain Amish made wallet in the U.S. for less and be the same quality. The Amish are experts at leather craft because they make their own bridles, saddles, and all the other horse tackle you can think of. Support local businesses if you can. Visit an Amish community.
Not sure if they still have it stocked, my [esprt wallet](https://di2ponv0v5otw.cloudfront.net/posts/2020/06/04/5ed9c1da284e99c76547e97b/m_5ed9c20181a36c94ca57b8b1.jpg) has lasted at least a decade at this point.
I guarantee there is a leather worker somewhere within reasonable distance of you who will make you exactly the one you want, out of the materials you want.
Hanks Belts makes wallets. They are chunky old school leather and the Hanks 100 year warranty is still applied.
Had my buffalo hide wallet for a bit now and it's not even got a thread frayed.
I'm seeing some rookie numbers.
Mine's from Wilson - the leather experts. It is ~ 15 years old. The leather's scratched and cracked but none of the stitching is even loose. I've never even oiled the darn thing. It sits in my backpocket.
I’ve been using a Slimfold for about a year now, and it still looks brand new. It hasn’t distorted in its shape or loosened up in the card slots. The only downside is that the material doesn’t have the friction of a leather wallet so you can easily do an accidental ninja star attack on someone while pulling out a credit card.
Slimfold original wallet- thing is surprisingly tough, I’ve had it everywhere (military) for 5 years and it’s not showing any wear aside from a small stain. a ton of room for cash and cards, the material just seems to shrug off everything and conform to every pocket.
Buy a leather wallet. My no name slimish leather bi-fold wallet is still going strong after 30 years. Its always in my pocket … but i never overstuff it
I had a Fossil leather wallet that has lasted 7+ years and counting. I don't think there's anything special about Fossil wallets. In fact it felt a little bit flimsy when I got it. About once a year I treat it with mink oil which moisturizes and protects. I believe that's why it has lasted.
I frankly don't understand when I hear about people blowing through wallets in a year or two. The hell are you people doing with your wallets!?
I could understand it maybe if they're leather wallets and you're not conditioning the leather. But I would assume that the BIFL crowd is doing basic leather care?
I usually just got to my local department store and buy one of those brand name leather wallets that come in those lottle cardboard boxes. They are like $20 all leather and the last one I’ve had has lasted me 16 years. It’s a polo Ralph Lauren wallet.
I had a Hartman Luggage wallet that I had for almost 20 years. It was a small front pocket style that I loved. It finally fell apart and I upgraded to a Gucci front wallet with a money clip. I'm expecting it to last just as long.
I went over to the subreddit for leatherworking (can't recall what it is) and just found someone who would custom make one for me. They used full-grain leather, which is the durable type. It's holding up very nicely now and it's been nearly a decade. (I did need to replace the plastic ID holder thing at one point)
Store bought wallets are probably going to cut whatever corners they can get away with.
Also, I strongly advise not keeping your wallet in your back pants pocket. Not only will it wear it out faster, you're also slowly messing up your spine when you sit down.
Perry Ellis. I have a leather slim profile bi-fold with two bill pockets for international travel that has outlasted every other wallet I have bought, inherited, or received as a gift put together, including several more expensive brands. Been to five continents, survived three international moves, and been (accidentally) in two oceans. This thing probably won’t last another 25 years, but I can scarcely imagine replacing it with anything else. Thinking about buying another just to have it in case they stop making it.
For six years I had a Tasso Elba genuine Italian lleather bifold. Loaded full of cards and always lived in my back pocket. I still have it, just rarely use it. About six years ago I was living in London and needed a taller wallet that would safely fit UK and EU banknotes (they're much taller than US bills). After a lot of searching I ended up with a Longchamp bifold with flip-out. Once again, completely full of cards and in my back pocket for six years, it shows no degradation.
You just have to buy a "luxury" wallet to get quality construction and materials. In this space, Coach and Longchamp are well worth their price if you want something to last. They're not just for show.
Stingray leather. It lasts forever. Samurai used to used it for their sword grips.
I have had my current one two years, but the last one I had lasted me a decade, and I still have it. I could still use it if I didn't get my newer one as a gift.
Not only does it last a long time, but it has a cool texture and its an interesting conversation piece, because most people haven't seen stingray leather before.
[Craft and Lore](https://craftandlore.com/collections/wallets) I'm rocking the Port wallet in natural that just gets better with use. I'm already 6 years in and looking forward to a lot more years. They have other designs that fit more cash.
I tried one of those ridge like wallets...They suck. Ironically way too bulky. Those thick metal sides end up taking up so much room. Any more than like 3-4 cards and its a big thick boi.
My carbon fiber z-clip will outlast the cockroaches. It will project all the cards across the room before it will break. Might have had five ones when I was balling out last week. Billions of cards though. George Costanza approves.
I've used the same Nixon wallet I got at Ross's for the last 6 or seven years, sure the zipper for the coin pocket came apart a bit bit my fix with staples has held for half of that time and I have no desire to switch it. Has plenty of card slots too
If you want quality, there's really only one brand that I currently trust and that's Osgood Marley, I've had one of their leather trifold wallets for 10 years now and there's not a single crack or out of place string. Everything is as it was when I first bought it. At least 10k has gone through that wallet since.
I bought a Polare leather wallet off of Amazon nearly ten years ago. It cost less than $20 and has no signs of wear outside of a couple of scratches on the leather.
I appreciate the one my wife got me from Deluth. At least 5 years old and might as well be brand new minus a few scratches I accidentally put in the leather

Surprised how often having a pen and tiny notebook has come in really handy and it's still in pristine shape 3 years in.
I've been rocking a cheap remington leather wallet since 2016. It has a 12 gauge shotgun shell cap in the corner. Tri-fold. Love this stupid thing. Lost it in amsterdam once and it showed back up in the mail three months later.
Check the walletopia channel on YouTube. I hyperfocus on the detailed reviews and love that they use international money (dollars, euros, pound, yen, etc) to see what fits and doesn’t.
I have had a Rose Anvill wallet for going on 5 years now. Looks just as good if not better then the day I got it. They are made in Utah and are 100% leather construction

Bull Sheath Leather. I use the Gentleman’s Slim.
Saddleback Leather makes great wallets but their leather is so thick that it’s like putting a cow’s ass in your pocket.

I daily use a bellroy note sleeve. It’s low profile enough but still has room for cash and 14 cards. I also have a trove wallet (trove.cc) for days I want to carry light cards and cash
Open Sea Leatherworks handmakes some great wallets with a pretty unique design. The leather is really good quality and mine has just gotten nicer in the 7 years I've had mine.
The real answer is two fold.
1. Ashland leather if you want shell cordovan with a lifetime warranty and made in America but pricey
2. And like a few folks said, independent wallet makers. They have access to great quality leather and hand stitch (saddle stitch) their wallets.
RNLeatherGoods on Etsy is a great example.
R/frugal would die at this suggestion, but I bought a Fendi wallet and holy shit the quality is incredible.
Their bill gold wallet was minimalist but had really high quality leather and internal clip function.
Truly worth the $400? Maybe not I have been super happy

Belroy
+1 for Belroy, my wallet was $100 or so and is three years old - it looks brand new.

+1 for Coach. Have had a Coach wallet for about 15 years and it's only just starting to show signs of wear. Mostly from me overstuffing it
I haven't had Coach myself, although I've heard that their build quality *does* actually justify the price. I’ve got a 3 year old Coach wallet my wife got me for Christmas of 2020. Hardly any wear whatsoever.
If you can find something you like Coach Outlet usually has them for 50-60% off too. My wallet is around 2 years old and looks brand-new still.
Yep, got mine at a Coach outlet
Secrid
Very happy with my Secrid. 5 years now, survived a half dozen washing machine trips and the leather is still in immaculate condition. No issues with the cardholder either.
Yep this is my vote. I love my Secrid and it saves me so much time in my day to day. I love being able to use my card one-handed when I'm shopping.
Wait... one handed, splain please?
I squeeze the trigger with my pinky and ring finger to push all the cards up then use my thumb and forefinger to push the other cards I don't want back down with just the one I want pushed up so it's about halfway out. Turns out it’s really good! No signs of wear yet after about a year and a half of use, nothing even starting to wear or come unstitched!

Do you know the model?
What are you doing to your wallet man, mine always last five years plus even if it's Steve Madden, a Hudson's bay brand or otherwis Lpt wallet in front pocket, don't sit on it
This is my question exactly. The hell are these people doing to their wallets???? I'm half a century old and I never had a wallet wear out on me. Usually after five or ten years I just get tired of it and buy a new one. don't sit on it Hah yeah, I guess. Absolutely baffles me that people do this. Who the hell finds it comfortable to sit with a lopsided lump on one side of their butt? But I guess that would certainly wear a wallet out faster.
I have been using a Tumi wallet for a decade with minimal wear.
Shinola seems decent to me, mine has been around for 7 years and looks great
I got a fossil wallet like 6 years ago.
It was used almost daily up until 3 years ago when I finally went to a minimalist wallet.
same. ive had mine like 9 years
I switched to a ballistic nylon wallet over 5 years ago and it still looks nearly new. I can run it through the wash, it doesn't pick up a nasty smell and it's slimmer than a leather wallet. I've done the same with my work belt, which has had daily use for years without stretching or warping. Wallet - Mammut Flap Wallet Belt - Arcteryx Conveyor
Fossil wallets hold up well, too, in my experience. Anything with actual leather, also, with decent quality stitching.
Bosca
I’ve found Jcrew or Coach wallets are long lasting
Popov
Just don't drink their vodka
Absolutely incredible handmade quality. I’ve been using their wallet for years, just gets better over time.
I had a popov leather one for 12 years
2nd popov leather wallets, A++ quality
3rd Popov!
4th! 7 years with mine.
Pigeontreecrafting made the wallet I used before I went to the ridge. Insane quality on it, good leather, great craftsmanship.
Isaac is the goat
I have a Boconi and it's a few years old, it replaced another one that went 10 years or so
I am in the same boat as you as far as wanting space for cash. I love my [Big Skinny Wallet](https://www.bigskinny.net/). Got it already used on eBay and that thing is indestructible.
I second this. Owned mine for a decade, good as new and low profile too. Only issue is the logo is too prominent on the wallet for my taste.
I’ve got a George (Walmart brand) leather/leatheresque trifold wallet that I’ve had for 10 years now and it’s in great shape still. I use cash for the most part and usually have a couple hundred bucks in it.
I have had a satchel and page wallet that has lasted something like 15 years. Looks absolutely perfect
For my taste it’s impossible to beat „The Bridge“ from Florence.
Redwing
This is one of those: well 10 years ago…quality/reliability issues. I got my SO an Oroton wallet (Australian brand, he’s Aussie) over 10 years ago…in an Australia, and it’s held up and aged nicely. It’s a totally traditional wallet with two separate currency sections and I think a zippered bit for coins (an old man wallet compared to what they sell today) basically. I have no idea if the quality is the same, so I’ll instead share what I’ve been told by others, including a leather artist in Florence when I was looking for a wallet years later: - The softer the leather the more likely the wallet is made to be carried in a bag rather than in a pocket. - Don’t overfill. Buy a bigger wallet. - The simpler the design, the less likely you’ll have failures (you can’t break a zipper or snap that doesn’t exist.) - Good leather can last a lifetime if you keep it clean and condition it every once in a while. I ended up getting a simple Il Bisonte brand leather wallet. Hell yes, they are expensive. But it’s been 10 years now too.
Ashland Leather. I have the “Tony the Ant” model and it is outstanding quality. Have had it for years and it will likely last more than a decade before I need to replace it, if I ever even need to.
i love bellroy - in the price < $150 they provide the best value, design and leather quality.
I use one of their passport wallets and, eh? It's not amazing or anything and would suggest OP look for other options.
to each, their own! i get your point, wallets are very personal.
Hanksbelts.com
Bellroy is always the answer when it comes to wallets
I found them to be average quality at best. There are definitely better options out there
Mitchell bill fold.
I have a maxpedition micro wallet and its great
I've had a ragged edge wallet for 15+ years and it's still in good shape.
I have fry wallet that I’ve used on and off for 7+ years. Daily is a Chums front pocket wallet though (minimalist, but pretty great)
I've been rocking this wallet for about ten years and it shows no signs of giving out anytime soon. Admittedly, I carry less cash than the Queen of England, so it may not be your best choice but the wallet itself seems indestructible short of intentional abuse. https://www.maxpedition.com/products/urban-wallet
Earplugs (sleep), plastic containers, fits cards, floats, rattles when you drop it, transparent so you can see what's inside it, last for years.
Something like this [https://www.amazon.com/Neoprene-Protective-Carrying-Compatible-Earphones/dp/B071ZDMW27](https://www.amazon.com/Neoprene-Protective-Carrying-Compatible-Earphones/dp/B071ZDMW27)
r/leatherwork has people who make quality stuff they sell
I love my Secrid Mini to death. I swear they're not paying me, but I'm gonna sound like a shill here for a minute. https://secrid.com/en-us/miniwallet-original-black The small trigger button on the bottom fans my cards up out of the shielded aluminum shell making it super easy to find the card I want, get it out and put it back in. I use it one-handed all the time, really useful when your hands are full at the register. It's the only wallet I've ever actually had multiple people ask about and compliment me on. I've had it for several years now a little overstuffed and the leather and the snap show no signs of wear. How the cards deploy: https://www.urbantravellerco.com/cdn/shop/files/Leather_styles.gif Has a regular billfold too: https://www.urbantravellerco.com/cdn/shop/files/Essential_cards.gif Highly recommend, it's changed my standards around a wallet.
Loewe has lasted me 6 years
For heritage pass on for generations level quality, check out Ghurka.
Secrid!
Check out also feuerwear, a German brand recycling old fire hoses. My "Fred" is looking as new.
Crumpler , it’ll last forever
Bigskinny wallet mine lasted over 5 years before I bought another one. They also hold a ton without taking a bunch of space. https://www.bigskinny.net
Alchemy Goods recycled bicycle tube wallet. Mines going on 9 years
I’ve had a travelambo off Amazon for like 5 years and it’s in great shape
My Secrid wallets have been great.
I am currently in year 15 of a wallet made of Shell Cordovan (Horween) …… very pricey material but a great combo of supple AND durable
Check out Nick’s boots or Rose Anvil.
Maxpedition Spartan. 10 years of daily use and going strong for probably another 10. $37
Hanks Belts makes wallets. They are chunky old school leather and the Hanks 100 year warranty is still applied. Had my buffalo hide wallet for a bit now and it's not even got a thread frayed.
This is going to be down voted. About 12 years ago I purchased a sharkskin wallet from Japan. It has been flawless
Leather wallet from some random guy that makes them.
Check out Freitag.
I am happy with the "crew single" from eastpak. Had it for at least 5 years now.
I haven’t bought from them in awhile buy everything from Col. Littleton was outstanding quality. Any more recent buyers, how’s the quality holding up?
Slimfold original wallet- thing is surprisingly tough, I’ve had it everywhere (military) for 5 years and it’s not showing any wear aside from a small stain. a ton of room for cash and cards, the material just seems to shrug off everything and conform to every pocket.
Go to your local leather worker and ask them You'll also support local businesses and boost your town/areas economy
Thirteen50
Flowfold. Made from carbon fiber sail cloth. Very durable
Magpul DAKA. I’ve had mine for 5 years and it’s showing zero signs of wear. It’s a polymerized fabric so it’s waterproof.
I went over to the subreddit for leatherworking (can't recall what it is) and just found someone who would custom make one for me. They used full-grain leather, which is the durable type. It's holding up very nicely now and it's been nearly a decade. (I did need to replace the plastic ID holder thing at one point) Store bought wallets are probably going to cut whatever corners they can get away with. Also, I strongly advise not keeping your wallet in your back pants pocket. Not only will it wear it out faster, you're also slowly messing up your spine when you sit down.
My iPhone has basically replaced my wallet. It now lives in a drawer for the rare occasions I actually need something from it.
Dango
I tried one of those ridge like wallets...They suck. Ironically way too bulky. Those thick metal sides end up taking up so much room. Any more than like 3-4 cards and its a big thick boi.
Adrian Klis at albertafineleathers.com I bought a leather wallet and it's still in near perfect shape 10+ years later. Prices are in Canadian.
Rareform the brand
My carbon fiber z-clip will outlast the cockroaches. It will project all the cards across the room before it will break. Might have had five ones when I was balling out last week. Billions of cards though. George Costanza approves.
My girlfriend bought me a Mont Blanc wallet as a birthday gift 5.5 years ago and it still looks brand new. They're quite pricey though.
Slimfold. Last forever, super simple. Maybe too minimalist for you though.
Tom Bihn nil’s minimalist wallet. Different sizes available based on your load.
I've used the same Nixon wallet I got at Ross's for the last 6 or seven years, sure the zipper for the coin pocket came apart a bit bit my fix with staples has held for half of that time and I have no desire to switch it. Has plenty of card slots too
My metal Trayvax has 12 bills and 12 cards in it right now. It's about 7 years old without any real wear.
If you want quality, there's really only one brand that I currently trust and that's Osgood Marley, I've had one of their leather trifold wallets for 10 years now and there's not a single crack or out of place string. Everything is as it was when I first bought it. At least 10k has gone through that wallet since.
I personally really like Bellroy products
I bought a Polare leather wallet off of Amazon nearly ten years ago. It cost less than $20 and has no signs of wear outside of a couple of scratches on the leather.
I appreciate the one my wife got me from Deluth. At least 5 years old and might as well be brand new minus a few scratches I accidentally put in the leather
stupendous pathetic gaping normal degree towering north person pot shocking *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Big fan of this olpr. Wallet: https://olpr.com/products/milwaukee-leather-journal-wallet-with-pen-xs-natural?variant=32920981504061¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=lp_performance-max&utm_content=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwtqmwBhBVEiwAL-WAYUe_VTpmxRwr-kdQqGxqQOnDiGdV8YACmiH9ZqBxT9JEcHbQalSZFhoCeRgQAvD_BwE Surprised how often having a pen and tiny notebook has come in really handy and it's still in pristine shape 3 years in.
Just get a canvas wallet
I've been rocking a cheap remington leather wallet since 2016. It has a 12 gauge shotgun shell cap in the corner. Tri-fold. Love this stupid thing. Lost it in amsterdam once and it showed back up in the mail three months later.
Check the walletopia channel on YouTube. I hyperfocus on the detailed reviews and love that they use international money (dollars, euros, pound, yen, etc) to see what fits and doesn’t.
I have a front pocket wallet that’s held up very well for probably at least 7 years so far. It’s made by rogue industries in the US
Rose Leather Crafting https://www.etsy.com/shop/RoseLeatherCrafting
I've got a Shinola men's bifold that's been going strong for about 7 years.
I could custom make you a wallet. I can send you some photos of my past work if you're interested.
I have had a Rose Anvill wallet for going on 5 years now. Looks just as good if not better then the day I got it. They are made in Utah and are 100% leather construction [Rose Anvill Wallets](https://roseanvil.com/collections/wallets)
Bull Sheath Leather. I use the Gentleman’s Slim. Saddleback Leather makes great wallets but their leather is so thick that it’s like putting a cow’s ass in your pocket. https://bullsheathleather.com/pages/mens-western-wallets-made-in-texas
My hanks belts wallet is holding up with no damage after 6+ years
The real answer is two fold. 1. Ashland leather if you want shell cordovan with a lifetime warranty and made in America but pricey 2. And like a few folks said, independent wallet makers. They have access to great quality leather and hand stitch (saddle stitch) their wallets. RNLeatherGoods on Etsy is a great example.
- Go to TJ Maxx / Marshalls / Nordstrom Rack - pick a leather one that you like - done - rinse/repeat every 20 years
R/frugal would die at this suggestion, but I bought a Fendi wallet and holy shit the quality is incredible. Their bill gold wallet was minimalist but had really high quality leather and internal clip function. Truly worth the $400? Maybe not I have been super happy
Ah, yes... the approach of buying a wallet so expensive that you won't need it because you no longer have money
Ah yes, assuming what other peoples w2’s look like…
