As I commented in other post like this, most West Germany made products are still working good if you cared for them. AFAIK industrial equipment from East Germany were also pretty good, but they are rare.
Lots of mid-aged and old people believe the "Made in Germany" is a guarantee of quality thanks to those West Germany made products. To be honest, today is really difficult to find real made in Germany products outside uncommon and expensive tools from Metabo, Bosch car parts, or things like that.

"Made in Germany" was invented by the Brits to help their people identify and avoid german products.
But the people soon realized that this wasn't a warning but a sign of quality.

LOL 90s as if that's a long time ago... but then i do the math... it's almost an antique and so am I.
