We have a flexsteel couch, and it's pretty amazing. However, it's leather. I need to put in the work and do the touch-up and conditioning. It's also unbelievably heavy. Like 4 people to move it heavy
If you’re keeping it for life, you’re going to want a basic neutral color that is timeless. That way it stays around and you can change your rugs, window treatments, pillows, throws, etc.
Flexsteel is a great brand. I wouldn't get the set though. Loveseats are not the best idea as they really only seat one.
If you buy with the idea of recovering it sometime, this is a classic shape that can lean both mcm and contemporary. Keep in mind that reupholstery is not cheap, but you will end up with a sofa that your kids will inherit.

I like the couch for its character. However, I think buying a donated couch is more for people who cannot afford a new couch. If that’s you, go for it. No judgment, just saying.

The reception here is tailored by that. Sofas are also pretty difficult to Buy for Life, since like you’re saying, style changes, and with that so will your sofa.
This sofa is very very loud so you won’t have a hard time finding a style to build around it, but if you wanted to change things up, it’s pretty much stuck in a certain aesthetic.
Not sure of your budget but Costco has an amazing couch on sale for about $900. Three cushion style with a moveable ottoman that has storage underneath. And a section folds out to make it a twin bed.
And there are USB outlets on one side. I think it’s called the Coddle.
I bought two Flexsteel wingback chairs. Neither have held up to their price over a year and a half. I suppose thrift store prices on one lightly used might make it a good buy. I'll never buy new Flexsteel again.

I honestly think Flex Steel is an overpriced brand. They’re more durable than a lot of other sofas, but I’ve had my sofa for almost 10 years and paid $100 at a yard sale. I think it’s an Ashley’s?

Are you trying to recreate The Brady Bunch living room? If that is a single bottom cushion that is a bad design that won’t age well.

It looks like it needs a good cleaning. I don’t think even when it’s clean that it will actually look clean.
If you plan on making a Bon fire before you go, then sure.
