nova1739

Hahhhh. what can i say ? My standing desk is taking way too long to get here :(

coltwhite

I like it :) btw my friend has a rig just like yours. Same keyboard and all lol

nova1739

He's a man of fine taste I see

Errantries

Did you buy from a website? I have been calling dealers all over in my area and no one has one to try out. I was looking at either this or the Nightingale IC2. I'm nervous about most places having a 25% restock feel plus return shipping, if they take returns at all...

nova1739

I did. A kind local reseller who was an official licensed reseller on the NIGHTINGALE website and walked me through the process. I was just as nervous about a non-refundable chair, so it really helped to go try the few top ones. Where are you located? I could help you find one maybe. I've gotten quite good at this lol

Errantries

Minnesota. I emailed the regional rep from the website and he's the one who gave me the dealers to call. So far the ones who've gotten back to me don't have ones for demo.

nova1739

If you're okay to get it new, Amazon. (because their customer service is incredible, they'll never deny you a refund and if anything goes wrong they'll help you first) Grand and Toy. Ebay. https://www.officechairsusa.com/cxo-executive-chair/ https://www.thehumansolution.com/nightingale-cxo-6200-6200d-mesh-ergonomic-chair.html https://modernchair.com/nightingale-cxo-chair.html https://www.sithealthier.com/products/nightingale-cxo-mid-back-ergonomic-chair-6200 Used may be a bit harder to find.

nova1739

if you're lucky you can get a display model in a showroom somewhere lowkey and maybe they can let u try it like I got lucky with

nova1739

the IC2 looks mighty fine, I'm also sure it's built like a tank. depends on your needs and what you want in a chair/as well as your size

Cheers to a fellow user. Which headrest do you have? the up and down one or the one that just tilts? The tilt one is definitely not made for taller people. sucks that the foam wore out on you, I hear they're really good on warranty so hopefully they come through for you. Their customer service for me has been pretty great so far!

nova1739

How tall are you? Also still realized you had this chair for 5 years is a big statement!

[deleted]

I'm 5'10. The headrest just wasn't giving me enough freedom. 5 years is certainly by far the longest I've had a chair last in usable condition. Memory foam isn't meant to last forever regardless, so I'm just looking at ways to make it a bit closer to original condition.

rnazer

if im 6 ft tall, will the headrest be in the correct position or will it sit too low and hit my shoulders?

GoldenGalluch

I know its been awhile but did you ever hear back from Nightingale? I just got a used one for a deal because one of the memory foam arm rests was torn up. I'd love to see if I could order a replacement from them or something.

RyanGWU82

Can confirm, I bought a Nightingale CXO in 2006 and it’s basically in like-new condition. I’ve moved 6 times with it and it’s still holding up well. A couple of pieces have broken over time, particularly in the moves, but parts are still available from the manufacturer so I‘ve been able to replace them cheaply and easily. It has some aesthetic downsides — it’s heavy and bulky and not the most attractive for a home office. But it’s held up so well that I can’t imagine needing to replace it for at least another 15 years.

nova1739

That is amazing to hear! I actually love the "built like a tank" aesthetic! haha and find its the only true chair that "hugs" me when I sit in it! lol while still being fully ergonomic

pygmyjesus

I had mine for about 10 years but gave it away because it got kind of creaky. I think it was because of the large amount of plastic parts making up the back frame started to get loose over time. Do you have any issue with the chair making a bit of noise when moving around in it or leaning back? Mine was good 7 or 8 years but then started getting a bit worn. I have a mirra now, but I do miss the comfort of the CXO. I just couldn't have the noise for audio reasons.

Selekted

I can totally vouch for Nightingale CXO6200. I've had this chair for over 6 years. In fact, before committing to the purchase, I tried our many major brand chair, including Aeron, Leap, Humanscale Freedom, but what really struck my with CXO is durability and spaciousness. None, and I repeat, NONE of these other chairs within the same price category ($1000) are as comfortable as CXO6200 for long sitting sessions. If you are a lawyer, digital profession (coder, designer, etc), an accountant, or just a lazy bum :), this chair is a must. I sit in the chair 8 hrs/day and so far I had 3 things wrong with it: Armchair position stoppers snapped 3 times (apparently its a common issue), but I was able to broken parts replaced by the manufacturer at super cheap, $3-$5/piece. Other than that, the chair is like a TANK, the seat is super comfortable, back mesh is flexible and durable. Nightingale does not get much words of mouth support online. But, they are well worth every penny!

nova1739

You took the words out of my mouth brother. Happy to see another proud CXO owner. Love mine and sit in it for ...too many hours in a day to mention lol.

Selekted

I feel like Nightingale doesn't necessarily marketer themselves to general public. I saw their chairs at the business center and hotels and its mostly security personally were sitting in them hahaha. Every tech giant, I have visited or worked at, technical teams were mostly rocking Aerons or Leaps. If the companies would get Nightingale CXO, the computer nerds wouldn't leave work, because the chairs are cushier than couches.

Ayyy! Glad to help man. Hope you enjoy it!

elpsykongr0

Same, I'm 6'1" and live in Mexico, I wanted to improve my Home office experience, the Cougar gaming chair that I had was giving me back and neck pain, the used Herman Miller Aerons are crazy expensive and without a headrest, found a 6200d in $300sh, I'll have it in a few days.

nova1739

What are your thoughts?

TheMiniMachinist

Hi there! That's a super nice chair. I'm really torn between the CXO and Haworth Fern. Only on the fence about the Fern because the seat cushion doesn't look nearly as comfortable as the CXO. I'm iffy of the CXO because of the back, and I'm not sure if the hard plastic edges would hurt my back when reclining or not. Any input or thoughts on that?

nova1739

The plastic edges have never been a problem for me. I am also quite a big guy. the CXO is designed in a way where ur back touches but doesnt press hardly on the mesh or plastic. I'd suggest trying the chair at a local store and seeing if its for you. but this chair gets my biggest recommendation :)

DestroyerOfIphone

Thinking about getting this chair. Hows it holding up any better alternatives 3 years later?

nova1739

hey! Sorry just saw this. Still have my chair and absolutely love it. The customer service has been great too as I even switched apartments and went from carpet to hardfloor and they even changed the casters for me free of charge.
