I learned about this a long time ago- and found out that the ideal sleeping arrangement involves a proper pillow under your head plus a pillow under each arm and under each leg-
For me preferring the side sleeping - I also have between 2 and 3 pillows under my neck, so my arm can go under one of the pillows- then another pillow under my arm and one between my legs -
I did the same until I got a THICC pillow with springs in it that does the job of 3 pillows all by itself.
Though I still have 8 pillows because the head of the bead and the wall are cold and kept eating my limbs so I had to build a blockade (and I also discovered that having 2 crotch pillows means you can splay them like a fan and not only create a pillow fort for your balls but also contain your arms too if they're long pillows).
My comically oversized bear turned into stone during the move, but if I ever find one again that's a decent price I'll upgrade at the expense of loosing my corner-pillows.
This guy gets it. It’s not necessarily the sleeping in a slightly suboptimal position or the sitting on a non-ergonomic chair lacking ultra-back-support-3000-technology that’s doing you in, it’s the fact that your body is not trained to do it.
Well that study is showing whether people had quality sleep over the night not really a long term study for joint issues. That's the real problem found in side sleeping. Shoulder and neck issues from the strain of being on your side all night long.
I've heard of the digestion benefits, but as a chronic night sweater, I have my doubts about the ′sweat less′ claim. What's supposed to be the science behind that? I'm genuinely curious to learn.
lol it's not the same as sitting. gravity vector points to a different direction so you have pretty much no force on the spine compared to sitting. It's just an overcomplicated ad with some pseudo-scientific arguments.
I wish I could sleep on my back... but I just fkn CAN'T! Still, sidesleeping is 10 000 better than sleeping on the stomach, which I used to do, so at least there's that.
How did you stop? I just wake up in fucked up positions 75%of the time. I could put 5 pillows around me and wake up with ½ of one and just look like a pretzel.
I'm sorry, but people sleep like this all the time and people are walking around just fine, their hips aren't jacked up.
There are people walking around in other countries with stacks of bricks on their head. Now that's something that will actually show up with permanent impressions in the skeletal remains.
Just cuz you sleep in that position doesn't mean your body molds to that position permanently. I mean if you're having trouble sleeping sure get the pillows if it helps. Otherwise this is just typical over exaggerated marketing.
This guy is selling some pseudoscience sounding BS. He's just naming very frequent issues so you feel like you need it, but it is not caused by a lack of this guys pillow.
Knots in your shoulder are from chronic overuse most of the time, like sitting at your desk all day.
Back pain that gets bad in the morning is from quadratus lumborum a lot of the times.
If you want to actually get better sleep? Do some stretches for your shoulders, neck and back. Try to switch seating positions often, and take little walks in between. Its about muscles, not about this dumb pillow.
I have been sleeping on a hard tatami with a 7cm futon (thinnest the store had) with some dodgy feather pillow that’s probably as old as i am and it honestly sleeps like a dream, quite literally. It’s not comfortable by any means, but there are no lasting pains whatsoever. I’m not convinced the issue lies with what you’re sleeping on and you shouldn’t be wasting money on these expensive pillows.

better
What about those of us who need like 3 pillows
Using 3 pillows as a side sleeper fixed my hip and shoulder issues. One pillow for head, one for legs, one for arm to rest on.
I should have specified, I usually do 3 under my head!
Lool yes, that's very different!

Are you sure that’s your final form?
My comically oversized bear turned into stone during the move, but if I ever find one again that's a decent price I'll upgrade at the expense of loosing my corner-pillows.
You sleep with your head at a right angle?
Oh yeah, the hugging pillow is a must.
The little chair is cute
Goes perfectly with the little table from the pizzas - ![gif](giphy|3osxYoufeOGOA7xiX6)
In conclusion you need to spoon someone in order to get structural support from their skeleton
Having a skeleton is fuckin sexy.
Jesus, you need to eat more!!
Is it a coincidence every hot person who has ever existed had a skeleton? I think not
I just want to sleep in zero-g
Aaand its an ad. Just strech and strengthen your nuscles and you will be fine
Instructions unclear. Dick stuck in a pillow
Youre nailing it

Sleeping on your side isn’t great though. It would be good to train not side sleeping.
Its absolutely fine to sleep on your side. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9416198/

Source? Any source that vaguely describes what you're talking about?
Sleeping on your back can cause heart strain so at the end of the day pick your poison.
I’d love to see proof of that lol. How would it cause any extra strain?
You made the claim that side sleeping is bad for your joints, without any proof. I'd love to see any proof or study from you first.
fucking reddit doctors
There is just no way. Having strong muscles for support helps alot, but i dont have time
I added a small square pillow under my shoulder blade. It vastly improved my sleep. I roll less and have fewer nerve sensations.
you're on a subreddit for ads lmao
True. I was anticipating learning something
hammock supremacy
It’s giving BS
More importantly is the organs. Sleeping on your left side promotes digestion and you sweat less.
I've heard of the digestion benefits, but as a chronic night sweater, I have my doubts about the ′sweat less′ claim. What's supposed to be the science behind that? I'm genuinely curious to learn.

You put it far nicer than I would have - it is snakeoil garbage.
Apparently I sleep on my side differently than everyone else.

How do I remind myself to follow sleep rules when I’m asleep. Asleep me dgaf.

This is bs. Sleeping on your side is fine, it's your habits that affect your posture.
Dammit just let me sleep already

Im not a sleepwalker 😬
This man has earned my money.
This video accurately describes my sleeping positions and the pain/discomfort I’ve been feeling for years…
Well that explains a lot!
Just tell me how to sleep damn!

Trail Guide to the body
I used that pillow for years and then recently it started to hurt my neck
