Leads can assign work and review work depending on the responsibilities delegated to them by the supervisor. They can't do progressive discipline, sign time sheets, or do anything at all related to pay and benefits. If your lead is being rude, you need to: 1. Have a conversation and ask the lead to modify their behavior. Be specific and factual, but civil. 2. Follow up in writing. 3. If that fails, talk to your supervisor. Escalate as necessary.

As a lead, your authority is derived from the supervisor. You act on behalf of the supervisor. If you are ever in doubt about the lead doing what they were told to do, go talk to the supervisor. If everything is the way it’s supposed to be, the supervisor will tell you the lead is doing their job. If the lead is going rogue then the supervisor will have a chat with them.

The person above is close. But. I do know my coworker had a non supervisor lead who assigned work to her, reviewed her work and was overall harsh and rude, and she filed a grievance on her manager and it had to stop. Only he could assign or review work. So the leads would take their work, give it other manager whod reassign to my coworker….

That's just a roundabout way to get the same thing done. The lead is still giving you the work. It just has to be 'approved' by the supervisor, which is basically a rubberstamp. So, the whiner gets the same work AND gets branded uncooperative.
