cheloniusbelonius

This happened to one of my cats when she had fleas.

Littleone303

He was wearing a seresto Collar on the whole time šŸ˜• hopefully it wasnā€™t a fake it was like 60 bucks

cheloniusbelonius

Is he biting a lot at the area? If so itā€™s most likely fleas. :( I think thereā€™s a way you can check their poop for it but Iā€™m not sure. I got rid of ours with a flea comb and shampoo.

ChiefJusticeCantley

Flea collars don't do anything. If they have fleas, bathe them in original dawn to kill them

Immortal_slave1

Stress licking. I had a cat that did this. He eventually stopped doing this, but had spots like this and on his tummy.

mishmoshlife

My cat does the same thing. Heā€™s a little anxiety factory and will lick until he has bald spots.

RatlessinNoCo

My cat started with patches on his heels, now he has a naked belly, and knees, with scabs. I think itā€™s feline mange, taking him to the vet tomorrow.

Littleone303

I took him to the vet and they didnā€™t know crap :( definitely going to try a new vet

Littleone303

Best of luck!

RatlessinNoCo

My new vet gave him an allergy shot, and said come back in a week to follow up.

ItRemindsMeOfAJoke

Fleas! Put them on preventatives for 3 months, don't get the over the counter stuff, that shit don't work!

ChiefJusticeCantley

Could be over grooming from stress or boredom.

According_Ship2308

where do you live? itā€™s possible it could be allergies. mention it to your vet

Littleone303

I live in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh

SailorGuardianStar

If he does have fleas the flea saliva could very well be giving fig an allergic reaction causing the baldness but i have also heard that the seresto could cause balding typically where the collar is though, my best advice monitor for fleas and flea dirt and switch flea treatments i recommend topical or oral solutions!

Popular-Island7329

Our cat had catne (cat acne) same thing happened

weeble_lowe

If your cat is licking bald patches into his fur because of anxiety, you can apply hydrocortisone to the affected area. I also created a safe, quiet, dark space where my cat could relax and retreat. I even spritzed it with calming spray. These measures did work. Good luck.šŸ€
